I agree with you, there’s a problem somewhere. Someone should round them all up for a major discussion. I would love to know the reason. Did they grow up with them, as my son did and is currently dating a white girl for four years. Most of my family don’t like it although we do like the girl we wish she had some color to her pale skin. I once asked my son why not a girl that looks more like us, and he simply said that the right one hasn’t come along yet. I just want him to be happy and if he can find it in a caramel or brown girl that would make my family very happy.

I usually would not respond but I am tired of people complaining about the color issue. I am dark-skinned mahogany woman and I am beautiful. I am originally from New York and live in the South now. I get as many stares as any of my light-skinned friends or relatives and I only know this because of them telling me this guy is looking or that guy is looking. I have many mixes in my family and in this society they are black. I have Trinidadian,Asian, Jamaican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Mexican, Jewish, white and who doesn’t have Indian in their family. It’s not cool to get upset with anyone for dating someone who is biracial. Should the biracial people just stick to their own whatever that means. I know there are people that decide who to date based on color-but it may not be different from those who don’t date people too short or tall or fat or skinny. It really pisses me off to hear women complain “our men don’t want us” and you don’t see how pathetic you look and sound! Maybe you all who feel this way should make it a more personal thing- because this dark-skinned beauty don’t have a problem getting a man. Please stop acting as though you speak for us all because you don’t. The media shows the couples they want and foolish people feed into that. There are pleny of weathy black and even white men who marry dark-skinned black women.They dont carry on the MYTH so they may not get much coverage on magazene covers.
