Lil Wayne Weezy has a new leaked track with Babyface (and produced by Kanye) called "Comfortable": [audio:Lilwayne.mp3] Interesting duo. Because foolywang material is rampant across the net:  Light Skin Party Seriously? I peeped this ish last week and didn't want to post it so I wouldn't promote foolywangery. But damn that. The promoter of this party actually hit up Russ Parr this morning and defended his money maker. GTFOH. Other ish around the net:
  1. In the non-YBF news of the day...Jive Records has confirmed they hate Britney. Dlisted
  2. Easily jack the looks of your fave style stars. The Fashion Bomb
  3. Oh hell Bobby--so this video of your "last words" was just you going in for a checkup? Pink is the new Blog

. Few people ever seem to bother (or want) to note the fact that THE DJ (who actually planned and promoted the cancelled 'Light-Skinned Libra Party' in Detroit, MI) is, himself, a person who HAS A skin tone which is that of being of a VERY DARK COMPLEXION (and yet, still, he wanted to host a party in which he publicly rejected the people with his own features). Those who drone on and on about how people who have a darker-complexion skin tone are so often 'discriminated against' - seldom seem to want to also admit that the people who direct this 'discrimination' against them are USUALLY also of a dark (not light) skin-complexion themselves (ex. friends, relatives, potential partners, etc.). Thus, one cannot help but to feel that the REAL question should NOT be "Why does it seem that the lighter complexioned people are so 'favored'?" - BUT RATHER - "How can society help the darker complexioned people top rejecting each other?" Blaming the 'discrimination' - which is often suffered by the people who are of a darker skin complexion - on the simple "existence of" or the alleged "favor toward" the 'people with a lighter skin-complexion' will NOT result in the 'discrimination' disappearing - but rather, will simply serve as a 'SMOKESCREEN' to distract from the REAL problem - which clearly seems to be that of a strong 'SELF-HATRED' embraced by some darker-complexioned people that is apparently then PROJECTED onto other dark-complexioned people. .

I AM IN THE HEART OF LOUISIANA. OUR LANGUAGES ARE CREOLE, FRENCH, AND CAJUN. AND I KNOW MY HISTORY THANKS TO MY FAMILY. MY FAMILY IS COLORFUL, YET, BEAUTIFUL. AND I HAVE BEEN EDUCATED WITH STORIES THAT WERE HEART BREAKING AND SOME MADE ME EXTREMLY PROUD. BUT FOR THE MOST PART, OUT OF ALL THE HARD STORIES FROM LONG AGO. I LEARNED TO BE PROUD OF HOW THEY MADE IT THROUGH AND HAVE GIVEN US SKILLS OF SURVIVAL. I COULDN'T IMAGINE LETTING ANY RANDOM MAN RAPE ME AT HIS OWN REQUEST AND ME NOT LOSING MY MIND. OR WATCHING MY WIFE GO THROUGH THIS AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. BLACK PPL, YOU NEED TO START THINKING AND STOP LETTING OUR ANCESTORS DOWN WITH ALL OF THIS FOOLISHNESS THAT KEEPS US SO DIVIDED. EVERY CULTURE SEEMS TO BE STRONGER THAN OURS. AND THAT HURTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEAH PPL, LET'S CELEBRATE ALL THE PAINFUL TIMES OUR FEMALE ANCESTORS WENT THROUGH TO PLEASE OUR SLAVE MASTERS AT ANY COST. THANKS GRANDMA FOR BEING AROUND WHEN THE OLD WHITE MAN GOT HORNY AND ALLOWING HIM TO FORCE HIMSELF UPON YOU. I KNOW YOU DID THAT FOR ME SO THAT I COULD HAVE THAT WHITE GENE AND LIGHT-SKINNED SO THAT I COULD ONE DAY ATTEND A PARTY. I CAN ONLY IMANGINE JUST WHAT YOU BEEN THROUGH SO THAT I COULD LOOK DOWN AND DIRESPECT ALL THAT YOU AND OTHERS HAVE GONE THROUGH. YOU ARE THE BEST. YOU KNEW HATING MYSELF WOULD BE KEY TO ME MAKING IT IN THIS WORLD. YOU FOOLS ARE TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES FOR EVEN CONSIDERING THIS. BLACK HATERED MAKES ME SHAME. IT'S NOT ALWAYS THE WHITE OR OTHERS THAT EMBARRASSE ME, BUT BLACK PEOPLE REALLY TAKES IT TO ANOTHER HATE LEVEL.

You should take the comments

You should take the comments about YBF's new look seriously. We are your loyalreaders. The color is okay but there are too many hyperlinks for no reason. The hyperlinks should only be used if there is more on the subject that you are writing about and/or more pics. Also, the font and banners are way too big, your readers should be able to see the date and the subject headliner not the banner ads only. And no it's not my browser that's messed up.

The real issue, in my opinion, is why the promoter thought a party in celebration of ANY shade of black was appropriate? What was he thinking? And more importantly, why even post it on the site. thereby adding and supporting the foolishness?

i think everybody is reading too much into the theme of that party...it's about the same as if you wear purple and gold to a que party you get in free...the girl's nickname is ms light skin so all light skin females get in free just like all LIBRAS do too...and what ya'll don't know is if your were on the guestlist it didn't matter whether you were light, blue, or purple you got in free...i think sometimes people just need something to talk about cause this isn't even that serious

I'm so upset right now....

I'm so upset right now.... i'm light and my baby girl is dark... Im scared for what shes gonna have to endure when she grows up. I'm tired of the racism on both sides! As a light woman I would be offended by a party that promoted only dark females could get in and am offended by this party where only light can get in. As a race we should know better... Other races are constantly racist towards us and that should just mean that we come together and unite as one race. But instead we choose to seprate ourselves and look stupid by saying that light women like myself look better just cause were closer to white. In the end you're agreeing with whites that they are "better". Black is beautiful and i'm talking Alicia Keyes to Gabrielle Union!

Wow. How ignorant. I am light skinned, I find that flyer offensive and disrespectful as a whole. Any woman who would attend an event like this has no respect for herself or perhaps she doesn't realize how many years this is setting us back. There shouldn't be a separation, and obviously not much has changed in 2007. And...we don't need to attack the girl on the flyer--there is nothing wrong with her, apparently she is just modeling for the wrong kind of ad.

I've already spoke my mind on that "light skin" foolishness of a flyer now I have to comment on the music posted: Omarion and Bow Wow...Good message with the "Hop in. Friends don't let friends drive drunk." However, you don't condone drunk drinking, but you do endorse getting a girls "cookies" while she's inebriated?! I'm just saying. It's still funny hearing Bow Wow rap about throwing some ass back. I like the Lil' Wayne's song. It's a different sound for him. It's more muture.

I don't agree with the theme of the party as well, but it's not like the promoter prohibits anyone else, who doesn't fit the profile, from coming. This light skinned theme is almost the same as if a promoter would say: "Free Entry for any man above 6'3" or "Free entry for anyone with blue eyes". It's true that they should have thought about the aftermath and stupidity of their theme, but let's not look for a 500 lbs elephant where there isn't one, and move on.

About the light-skinned party

About the light-skinned party - I completely agree that it was ridiculous and stupid. I heard the guy DJ Lish on the Russ Parr morning show today and he wasn't really defending it. In fact, he said that he realizes that it was stupid and that he cancelled the event. I think he said that they also had fliers advertising for "chocolate" women, and "caramel" women...not saying any of it was right, but it seems that he realized that as well...or maybe he just said it...who knows

And the girl on the flyer looks like some random neighborhood girl.[/quote] EXACTLY!!!! As a dark-skinned woman I am definitely offended by this promotion. I wish that people (mostly Blacks) would stop putting light skin women on a pedestal and realize that beauty comes in all shades. And yes had this promotion been for brown skin or darkskin women I would feel the same way. Blacks can be just as ignorant as whites. Discrimination is wrong period but against your OWN race?

It's bad enough when we have

It's bad enough when we have to defend ourselves from other races when they view us as inferior because of our color, but to have this kind of uneducated nonsense floating around on a flyer makes me sick. It's pathetic when we discriminate within our own culture. Someone needs to educate(slap) this promoter with some black history books. I find the flyer neither cute nor amusing. It's pure disgusting.
