Nice.  And you can check out their official next single “Girlfriend” at AOL.

Lil Wayne

Weezy has a new leaked track with Babyface (and produced by Kanye) called “Comfortable”:

Interesting duo.

Because foolywang material is rampant across the net:

 Light Skin Party

Seriously? I peeped this ish last week and didn’t want to post it so I wouldn’t promote foolywangery. But damn that. The promoter of this party actually hit up Russ Parr this morning and defended his money maker. GTFOH.

Other ish around the net:

  1. In the non-YBF news of the day…Jive Records has confirmed they hate Britney. Dlisted
  2. Easily jack the looks of your fave style stars. The Fashion Bomb
  3. Oh hell Bobby–so this video of your “last words” was just you going in for a checkup? Pink is the new Blog
  4. Clifford Harris and Tameka are in midget heaven. Freshdre Leon Talley
  5. Lupe Fiasco’s taking VIBE’s ass to court. Nah Right

As a light skinned female, I am DISGUSTED at this event. Its a shame how we black people even discriminate within ourselves. If we dont love ourselves (ALL shades of black people–light, dark, yellow, red, blacker than all black) then how can we get upset at white America for hating us? Shit like this pisses me off. And the girl on the flyer looks like some random neighborhood girl.

I swear people will do/say anything for attention. The promoter wouldn’t turn down money. The reason things don’t change is because people buy into it. I’m sure people will turn up “just because it’s free.” Then the promoter will use that to throw a similar party.

This is self hate and very sad.

It’s bad enough when we have to defend ourselves from other races when they view us as inferior because of our color, but to have this kind of uneducated nonsense floating around on a flyer makes me sick. It’s pathetic when we discriminate within our own culture. Someone needs to educate(slap) this promoter with some black history books. I find the flyer neither cute nor amusing. It’s pure disgusting.

    EXACTLY!!!!
As a dark-skinned woman I am definitely offended by this promotion. I wish that people (mostly Blacks) would stop putting light skin women on a pedestal and realize that beauty comes in all shades. And yes had this promotion been for brown skin or darkskin women I would feel the same way.

Blacks can be just as ignorant as whites. Discrimination is wrong period but against your OWN race?

About the light-skinned party - I completely agree that it was ridiculous and stupid. I heard the guy DJ Lish on the Russ Parr morning show today and he wasn’t really defending it. In fact, he said that he realizes that it was stupid and that he cancelled the event. I think he said that they also had fliers advertising for “chocolate” women, and “caramel” women…not saying any of it was right, but it seems that he realized that as well…or maybe he just said it…who knows

Corporate chick is on to something with regards to this “light-skinned party” - I think as many dark-skinned women should go as possible and then file a lawsuit for discrimination. According to the EEOC, discrimination can occur within the same race based on skin pigmentation, i.e. there is a case in Atlanta where the person was awarded $40,000. Another alternative would be to picket and protest the event.
Whatever the choice is, please Black people don’t just sit idly by and let this ignorance continue. Women (and men) of all hues should join in on this one.

Great comments! I think that there is no real basis for a lawsuit only because dark skinned women are welcome; they just won’t get in free. That is the same as “all women in free before 9:00.”

I think that the major issue is why we as black people constantly denegrate ourselves in the media/public. We cannot complain about the racism we face when we perpetuate it ourselves. How can we expect to change the preception without changing our thinking?

Who wants the hassle of having to go to court in a situation like this one? I don’t agree with the theme of the party as well, but it’s not like the promoter prohibits anyone else, who doesn’t fit the profile, from coming.

This light skinned theme is almost the same as if a promoter would say: “Free Entry for any man above 6′3″ or “Free entry for anyone with blue eyes”.

It’s true that they should have thought about the aftermath and stupidity of their theme, but let’s not look for a 500 lbs elephant where there isn’t one, and move on.

I’ve already spoke my mind on that “light skin” foolishness of a flyer now I have to comment on the music posted:

Omarion and Bow Wow…Good message with the “Hop in. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.” However, you don’t condone drunk drinking, but you do endorse getting a girls “cookies” while she’s inebriated?! I’m just saying. It’s still funny hearing Bow Wow rap about throwing some ass back.

I like the Lil’ Wayne’s song. It’s a different sound for him. It’s more muture.

Wow. How ignorant. I am light skinned, I find that flyer offensive and disrespectful as a whole. Any woman who would attend an event like this has no respect for herself or perhaps she doesn’t realize how many years this is setting us back. There shouldn’t be a separation, and obviously not much has changed in 2007. And…we don’t need to attack the girl on the flyer–there is nothing wrong with her, apparently she is just modeling for the wrong kind of ad.

I’m so upset right now…. i’m light and my baby girl is dark… Im scared for what shes gonna have to endure when she grows up. I’m tired of the racism on both sides! As a light woman I would be offended by a party that promoted only dark females could get in and am offended by this party where only light can get in. As a race we should know better… Other races are constantly racist towards us and that should just mean that we come together and unite as one race. But instead we choose to seprate ourselves and look stupid by saying that light women like myself look better just cause were closer to white. In the end you’re agreeing with whites that they are “better”. Black is beautiful and i’m talking Alicia Keyes to Gabrielle Union!
