Sneak Peek At Common's "I Want You" Vid+Def Jam Hits Ne-Yo's Party in Bulk

Common's new video for "I Want You" sparked the rumorville when Kerry Washington signed on to co-direct it. While those two are in a much rumored romance, Alicia Keys, Kanyeezie, Will.I.Am, and Serena Williams are all up in the vid too. Common's people hit YBF with some words from Mr. Sexy himself:

"Kerry and I have always admired each others work and always wanted to collaborate on a project. When we began planning for the video for "I Want You," I reached out to Kerry to star in it and it developed into her directing. She had a strong vision for the song that grabbed me from the start so we got our cast and crew together and made it happen," states Common.

Mmmhmm. I'll be watching. And it doesn't hurt that the track is uberly hot. The Def Jam offices clearly sent out a memo to everybody on the label to go hit up Ne-Yo's b-day party at Tribeca Rooftop last night:

His mom and good friend Rih Rih were there.

You can tell that Rhi's arm

You can tell that Rhi's arm tat is covered from makeup because of how that flash is reflection off of it. It's similar to how the flash comes off her face. That's how you can always tell someone is wearing too much make-up at night (or when you look at your collar after hugging them the next day). In the first pictures you can clearly see her hiding the arm on the closeups or it being completely cropped out of the picture. That is what you call having a good rep that calls the photogs hiring company to edit the shots prior to printing. :-)

I don't think that Rhianna tattoo was real in the first place. Just look at it. When I saw it the first time I knew it was just the ink from the paper the tattoo artist applies before getting started (unless they hand draw it). There's no makeup covering it up on those pics. Maybe she changed her mind or something about it at the last minute. Good thing too cause it wasn't too cute.

As someone else said, Rihanna's tat looked, from day one, like a stencil...she probably had it applied and later decided against going through with it... What I think is lamest about it, is I'm sure she went outside with it exposed that way and then read all the blogs and decided against it... If you've got that way of thinking about it, you should NEVER make permanent changes to your body.... Now, as for her outfit, she looks GORGEOUS. I see nothing at all "stripper-esque" about it... I think it's merely her size, the realness of her size (which is gorgeous too), that makes her wearing this mini dress "risque"... Then again, it might be all the conotations we go to immediately when seeing thigh-high boots (stripper, hooker) but nah...she looks stunning! I'm just in awe of the fact that she's brave enough to wear her real hair...no other mainstream star does that...WOW...

that Common video krew, looks like that real down-to-earth krew that you've been rollin' with since undergrad. they look like they can get together and have hecka grown-ass people fun without all of that teeny-bop, superficial nonsense in the industry. you know that moment when all ya'll in your krew look up in your late 20s - early 30's and everyone is at the tops of their games, they're hip hop stars, tennis pros, directors, artists, etc. OR all of ya'll are now lawyers, doctors, professors, principals, running non-profits, junior execs, etc., then you get together and you're like dang ya'll look how far we've come - but ya'll are still down-to-earth and still about using your talents and blessings to uplift our community and put out a positive product and messages. That's the truth right there. And that's what the gathering of that group in the Common video reminded me of.
