Ja Rule Can’t Pay His Bills+Is This Ya Chick Diddy?+Nas Is A Street Disciple+Celebs Hit Harley Davidson

A nosey source who happened to be in the right place at the right time says that Ja Rule is not on his bill paying game. They sent YBF an e-mail about Ja’s crdit card getting rejected at Staples yesterday. Apparently, he’s not paying his bills over at the L.I.F.E. Foundation he started:
“Today 10/18 Ja rule sent members of his life camp group to Staples in New York. The order was only 55 dollars and the card was declined…his rep didn’t understand why…”
Ja don’t love the kids? Damn Ja. Let’s get it together.

I tried my damndest to avoid this foolishness called Diddy and his newest fight club antics. But this right here is actually believable. The NY Post is reporting today that Diddy and his long time friend Steven Acevedo came to blows last weekend at a SoHo club all because they were fighting in a “how any women I banged” competition. Seriously?

And reportedly one of the main women they were fighting over was Swiss model Julie Ordon–Steven’s girlfriend (pictured above). Other sources are saying the fight had nothing to do with women. I believe the latter.

Pic source: MTV News
MTV copped an exclusive interview with Nas yesterday. He says he doesn’t know where Fox News got the info that there was no album and that it wouldn’t be released under that name or at all. And he had lots of other ish to say about this whole “N*igger” entitled album situation:
“I’m a street disciple,” Nas responded, quoting one of his earlier album titles. “I’m talking to the streets. Stay out of our business. You ain’t got no business worrying about what the word ‘nigger’ is or acting like you know what my album is about without talking to me. Whether you in the NAACP or you Jesse Jackson. I respect all of them … I just want them to know: Never fall victim to Fox. Never fall victim to the sh– they do. What they do is try to hurry up and get you on the phone and try to get you to talk about something you might not know about yet.”
On the injustice of the controversy:
“If Cornell West was making an album called Nigger, they would know he’s got something intellectual to say,” Nas stated. “To think I’m gonna say something that’s not intellectual is calling me a nigger, and to be called a nigger by Jesse Jackson and the NAACP is counterproductive, counter-revolutionary.”
On the purpose of using the N-word for his work:
“We’re taking power from the word,” he added. “No disrespect to none of them who were part of the civil-rights movement, but some of my n—as in the streets don’t know who [civil-rights activist] Medgar Evers was. I love Medgar Evers, but some of the n—as in the streets don’t know Medgar Evers, they know who Nas is. And to my older people who don’t now who Nas is and who don’t know what a street disciple is, stay outta this mutha—-in’ conversation. We’ll talk to you when we’re ready. Right now, we’re on a whole new movement. We’re taking power from that word.”
Maybe the streets will listen this time.
Celebs hit up the Complex Magazine/Harley Davidson event during L.A. fashion week last night:

I see Halloween came early on the red carpet and on the runway. Makeup, wardrobe, and hair need to bring Chudney backstage and start over.

The Cheetah Girls took the runway stage.

Aubrey’s moved on to another rapper-DMC. Ha. I wouldn’t be surprised though.

And the fineness that is David Banner was in the place too. Nice.
The Randomness:
- Mark S. Allen of CBS 13 issued an apology to Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson for his rude ass actions last week. He said he got over 19,000 e-mail complaints about it. Nice job to the YBF readers and everyone else who took action.
- So Joss was the only one sexin’ for tracks? Clearly she gets it from her momma.

~~ I dont know how I feel about Nas. He is very intelligent as we all know but I am still not an advocate for his album being called Nigger. As a black woman, I am still offended when we black people use that word in public because white people think if we use it, then they can use it. Nas said all that stuff that sounds good but I still dont think he should call his album that. How are they going to promote that album on TV? They can’t say that word on TV.
~~Anyway, glad to know that dumb azz Mark issued an apology. He should have never ever stepped out of line int he first place.
~~Finally Aubrey looks half-way decent. Her outfit is cute and the green shirt is FAB.
~~Cant say much for those Cheetah Girls!! They are TOTALLY WHACK!!
~~And Diddy is WIKEDY WIKEDY WHACK! Kim needs to leave his stupid azz alone. For real–take some advice from Whitney and leave these sorry dudes alone.

FYI to YBF……….. I didn’t see ANY celebs in those photos at the Harley Davidson event except David Banner, and he is straddling the “celeb” line!!!!!! To me it looked more like Kim Kardashian’s little pions and washed up rappers. chudney’s jacket was SUPER HOT though but it’s hard to appreciate fine style on someone like her…..

I don’t think David Banner is all that personally….
To the Nas situation: I don’t understand why we as a people fight to preserve a word that is so disrespectful and ignorant. Just stop it! Nigger is a horrible that has been used as a stamp on our poeople for centuries. Its like we are fighting to stay slaves, or keep the slave mentality. It’s ridiculous. Banning the word was one step in the right direction, and we can’t handle that? Let’s move forward people!!

LMAO@ Nas and his “street disipline”
OMG, the streets are nothing to aspire to and if he is still living there physically or mentally, he needs to find another profession or seek professional help. People work so hard to come out of places like the streets and when they leave they have to see this fool on a billboard with the word nigga scrolled across in italic bold.
I can’t believe he stooped so low to sell a few records, so he and Kelis can go around dressing and acting like the title of his album.
I really loved Kelis, he ruined it for me.
Nas is a misguided young man. Next.
White people can’t wait to cop this one. They have all the fun!

We need to move forward and stop saying that word—FOR REAL!

Some black people do want to keep the slave mentality and the image because they are lazy and want to lean on racism as a crutch to do nothing. If they fail it was because they are black, if they can’t get what they want easily they can always say it’s because im black, im a nigga.
Stop wallowing in self-pity. I never complained that I had to become smarter, emotionally stronger, work harder, more beautiful than my white counterpart to have the same opportunities. I didn’t work hard for Nas and other fools to label me a nigga. Sorry, Im YBF.
Ok, im done with Nas.

I don’t blame Tasha for not updating us frequently on the whole TI situation because Ti is a straight fool. A gifted - but straight up fool. Negro already knew where he stood with the law, he knew he cannot purchase firearms ( legally or otherwise ) and yet HE decided ( despite all of his success in life ) to go ahead and complete the illegal transaction. He deserves to be where he is. My mother always said ‘ Those who can’t hear must feel!!’ - and with that TI is feeling!!
I’m just upset with the whole situation because brothers always make dumb-ass decisions ( especially illegal ones ) and then everyone rallies behind them and ends up doing their time with them.
Tasha keep up the good work girl and keep me posted with causes that make sense - i.e The Jena 6….Razzi you need to chill and let TI try to figure his own shit out!! I don’t want to hear anymore about his dumb-ass situation…Thanks

Come on systas. Did you read what Nas said…There are actually plenty of books published in the last 10 years that deal seriously with the subject of race in america, specifically with the subject of black people in america that have references to or titles that include the word NIGGER….Soooo..for us to assume that his work will include anything less than intelligent discourse about the very subjects you are on here speaking about (second class citizenship, aspiring to raise the level of conscioussness in the streets, political mobilization and disenfranchisement just to name a few) is exactly the point he was making…Don’t we expect nothing but the best from our brotha…
Don’t be through…cop the record and hopefully learn something as so many of us do (even with letters behind our names) from Nas’ perspective…
On Oct 19, 2007 | Reply | Quote
Nas, keep in the mind that the last thing a black man heard while he was being lynched was the word NIGGER. he heard it with the last breath he took and exhaled. why, why do young greedy black men such as yourself continue to enslave the young black kids who are too lazy to get a book and read their history. Is money really that big of an issue that you need to lower your standards to sell music? invest in the “streets you are a deciple of” by encouraging young black folks to read and make application of their history to their lives. “that my friend is keeping it real.”

Anyone who agrees with Nas was raised by wolves. Nas does not live the life he purports to preach about. If he is so intelligent why isnt he writing books, doing some empirical research, actually communicating in a way that the whole world understand. If he was intelligent he would know that the world is not America - it goes beyond that…why can’t he u know do something that adds quality to the life of one black person. I cringe when I hear people say Nas is intelligent….he cannot finish half a sentence without cursing. Is that his appeal? Maybe I am slow on the uptake
Another question I really have to ask…is David Banner cute/handsome whatever u call it, I mean really? I do not know maybe its that mouth of his that needs to be washed out with a toilet scrubber …maybe then I will see the beauty in him or the beauty about him.

I certainly hope NAS album title is not the “N” word (we have enough thugs in the black community). I like Nas and his wife Kelis but it the title of his CD is “N” I will no longer look at him in a optimistic way and I hope Al Sharparton, Jesse Jackson and other civil right leaders boycott the album and the record label. I hope Nas is not another BUFFOON in the black community.
On Oct 19, 2007 | Reply | Quote
@Random…I can say with confidence that the reason Nas is not writing books is the reason he said…he is appealing to brothers like him, that grew up learning from the world around them. You I am sure know and believe that music has the power to bring about change. It has always our way of coping and cummunicating. Nas understands that.
To those of you boycotting the album…one question - Name some rap CDs you bought this year?
Remember your list…it may include titles like Pliers, TI, Young Joc, and will probably include Jay’s American Gangsta, etc, etc.
All I have to see is…
When N****r comes out, let’s take a look at the content and compare notes and see who is detrimental to our community.

@nas for president….I suppose nothing will change then if we keep using coping methods we used to use during the dark era. You cannot honestly believe that the freedom songs and the “songs” that are “sung” these days are the same and will keep a man’s soul hopeful. We have to get into the culture of reading as opposed to being schooled by Nas et al. I am all for fun but lets know where which starts and the other ends. Nas is self serving….why is he still talking about that…why not open a music academy for those same brothers he is addressing or something like that. The last albums I bought were Corinne Bailey Rae and India Arie’s. I do not donate my money to foolishness. Just because others choose to do that does not mean most of us do.

she says she gets invites to exclusive parties? more like exclusive pictures to wireimage…she is not at these parties folks…sorry to burst your bubble. and people like stylerazzi should be able to comment as they choose, and ms. can’t tell me nothin shouldn’t be so defensive.
bottom line, of course you check your competition, but the key is to be young, black and fabulous about it. all of us misspell, forget a comma…it’s about the point that blogs are becoming true citizen journalism, and gossip is still based upon fact. so whether it’s cnn or us weekly, there’s accuracy that’s necessary to excel, and you shouldn’t be so sensitive but instead maybe take a step back and think about what is being said.

I’m glad the CBS affiliate guy responded to our messages. I see the other guy who was acting like an a** right along with him wasn’t there though. Instead they stacked the newsdesk with women. I’m surprised they didn’t hunt up some black women to sit there with him. The fact that they did not probably speaks to the diversity of the reporters on staff by itself. bleh. Their “news” show looks weak anyway.
David Banner looks like he could use a day at the spa. Maybe get a facial and moisturize his situation.
