I haven't been to any of her shows, but I watched clips from her last show on YouTube and I sooooo disagree with people saying she put on a horrible show... In fact, "Sell Me Candy" which I had never heard, was such a good performance that I watched it a few times... The ONLY song I thought she did horribly, I MEAN HORRIBLY was SOS...she barely moved, she hardly sang, she seemed quite insincere BUT I'm thinking it's because she doesn't like it anymore...maybe she's moved on and it's old news... Also, people who say she sings off key are being hypocrits because my girl Amy Winehouse does too (now, DO NOT think AT ALL that I'm comparing Amy's individual, artistic, phenomenal music to Rihanna's) And, they sing "off key" because of their accents...it comes across as a missed note or "off key" but it's only their thick accents... And, I'm no Rihanna stan, but I think people dog her unfairly... If Fergie and Nelly Furtado can be in the limelight, why not Rihanna? She's a gorgeous girl with a gorgeous figure and a voice that works. It's unfair to dog her just because of the whole Rihanna/Beyonce thing (which isn't even true, right? haven't they been photographed together?)

Do any black women wear their own hair anymore? Why do we accept these super long, fake azz wigs and weaves on us? Are we not beautiful as we are? 1) Beyonce 2) Tyra B 3) Ciara 4) Alicia Keys...now too! Get it together and show young black women that we don't have to buy hair to be beautiful!!!

1. I love Beyonce. She's always so fierce. Bit I am kinda tired of her. 2. She is human and I do think she is capable of hating like anyone else. We are both Virgos(u know!) and I know she comes off as really sweet and she may be but there is another side, trust. 3. Get off Rihanna. That's my girl too. She's gorgeous and I happen to believe she really can sing. I've heard her acapella. Right now she's outselling Beyonce as far as albums (solo) so there is motive for beef. 4. Tyra Banks is ugly. She should step up her fashion game. But I like her. She seems real and not all Hollywood. 5. Ashanti is a beautiful girl. She's doing her thing in other areas of business. She does need to step it up musically, though.

Weaves, wigs, and extensions are not inherently "bad" things. The problem comes when a person (usually black women) are so uncomfortable with their own hair that they would rather crawl naked through broken glass than remove that fake hair and wear their real hair out in public. I see that as the real problem. Making a choice out of fear of repercussions is not the same as a free-will choice. That being said, we are all in various stages of development in various areas of our lives, and before we bash other people for what they are doing, each of us has something we would do well to concentrate on and clean up in our own lives.

Nothing real about that world. #1- EVERYone wears extensions in the industry- White, Black, Latina, etc. It is what it is. #2- Almost all Black celebs MUST wear extensions --especially the really big stars-- because they are on the go and can't heat their natural (permed, pressed, kinky, whatever state it's in) hair on the daily --or 4-5x a day-- like their busy schedules require. They can't wear their real hair the way some normal folks do because it would fall out with all the stress being placed on it. Sure, seeing Black celebs with long blond hair is one thing-- that is annoying when the natural color clearly isn't anything near blond, but wearing weaves just protects the hair. #3- Celebs don't need to show us much about being beautiful; all that self-love starts in the home. One's sense of beauty can't be based on what celebs look like or do. They wear pounds of make-up and fake hair, get plastic surgery and have nutritionists and trainers on call to make themselves look as "perfect" as possible in the eyes of the media 24/7 because that's the nature of the game when you want to be famous/a pop star.

Black models, and other black women need to boycott Vogue. Stop worrying so much about this tacky, pretentious magazine. Who the fuc* are they! I have to agree with the posts regarding black women and weaves. I went to Black Beach Weekend this past May in Miami, and I was shocked by the number of black women who were NOT celebrities wearing weaves. I am not sure whether the weave, like the afro in the sixties and seventies, is the new fashion statement for black women or not. However, I will say that I think some people rock weaves because of what they see on videos. I heard one woman say in Miami, "I had to get my weave done, girl. I had to make sure it was TIGHT. You know brothers don't want no tack head." WTF?!? Is it true that black men truly do prefer long hair, even it's sewn in, over natural/short hair? What is our obsession with hair? By the way, I was in a beauty supply store the other day and saw a white woman purchasing some Yaki hair. So, it's true that weave is the latest craze for every female regardless of race, but I guess my question is for us as black people, is it a fashion statement or has the weave become a sense of self-identity?

I see Mr. Boogie man all the time in Soho. He absolutely frightens on the tourist and children. He has the nerve to wear skin tight halter dresses and his weave in Pochantas braids. He is starving for attention, yet lives a very lonely existence because he appears to be so unapproachable. He just looks an escapee/board walk Coney Island freak. He produces the "pit bull" reaction, one in which you move to the other side of the street because all you can think is will it bite. The fur (beard) and the caveman teeth look vicious.

I say "to each her own"... if you want to wear a weave, wear a weave... but make sure it's a good one!

I agree with TashaNYC, whats the big deal if you don't like wearing weaves thats your preference, why do you care whats on someone else's head? I have long hair and I'm a brown skinned chick and I'm accused for wearing a weave all the time, people really need to get a life!

Has anyone noticed how the "critics" do not have anything nice to say about Tyler Perry's new movie and how the studios are saying they are going to do more "black" movies, but all it is is more fooleywang, sterotypical junk.
