I so agree yall! I was wondering how long we were going to comment on Brandy and ‘fits before we began to tackle the real issue on this post.

I wish we as Black America couls unite in some way to end all this garbage that surrounds us. If we only paid attention to how far we have digressed from the struggles of the civil rights era. We are right back in the 1960’s today, yet we don’t have anyone who is willing to stand up and take the heat for change as they did in the past. Sometimes I get so upset at white people for the things they have done against us…..then I get upset at the blacks who perpetuate those same things today. We give them what they want to see. If he never makes another film, he will be rich. Why not create a show that shows black men in a good light? No show on VH1 does. I think that white people make a distinction between white reality shows and black ones. Just look at Floavor Of Love and Rock of Love: Flavor’s show had a whold bunch of cussing and fightin, freaks, sex, and juct low class behavior. Rock of love had less cussin and fightin, and sex. We could still tell that those were some low class white females, but they were no really protrayed that way. They (excutives) pretended that they were really lookin for love, and Flav just wanted the hottest freak of the week, Delicious was that freak. Just look at all the freaky ish she has done after that trying to make a name for herself. At least Hoopz has SOME class. Look at A Shot of Love with the Tila chick- She is GAY and has a show with men AND women, they are not putting all those freaky undertones in it, but the look at New York. She is kissin ALL the guys, smoking constantly, shakin her ass, tryna $%#$ all of them, and just actin loose. My sister says that that is NY’s fault, she is doing it on her own. Even with him as a President, our progress won’t skyrocket because that will be white leadership, with a black face on it. He will try to satisfy the white folks as he is now.

We need some fearless leaders like those of back in the day. We need some people that will really fight for justice and equality.

JamieFoxx has really disappointed me. With him being an Oscar winner and a father of an adolescent girl, this is the best deal he could arrange? We do not have cable, but judging from the clips the Natasha shows, and from what friends tell me about BET and MTV, I have not missed anything.

I think Black Americans have a powerful and rich history. But unfortunately it is not taught in the home or in the school. Jews and others make teaching their history the single most important aspect of their life. Blacks should do the same. We cannot wait for white America to do it, because they hate to put their ancestors in a negative light. Blacks should teach children how we SURVIVED slavery, how ordinary people did great and wonderful feats to bring us this far, and our responsibility to continue after them.

White people are fully satisfied with us acting the fool and fulfilling stereotypes. Our allowable forms of wealth are:
rapping (not on social issues)
basketball or some sport
film (not directing or producing)
We help them by being voluntary slaves (using our limited resources to make big white companies bigger). For example, Blacks spend hundreds of millions every year in cell phone charges, cable TV, fast foods and expensive televisions and the like. That’s how they like us, gabbing away on cell phones, filled with junk food and sprawled in front the TV looking at New York, the man with the Big Clock and now Jamie.

I’m not saying we cannot laugh and make funny movies and shows, and I’m not saying every Black movie must have only positive characters. Just mix it up a little – turn off the rap and hip hop occasionally and tune into some jazz. Turn off the cable and go to the theatre (even a school or local play), use the library card sometimes instead of the credit card and READ, turn off the cell phone and TALK to friends and family. Spend time with grandparents and record their stories. We are a beautiful, vibrant and essential part of America, and until the rest of the country wakes up, we should live and tell our story. I feel very connected to Black Americans because I am of the African Diaspora (Trinidad and now Canada). . End of sermon. God Bless
