UPDATE: Ne-Yo Speaks On The Double Up Tour Drama

Ne-Yo on the Double Up Tour Ne-Yo hit up DC's 93.9 radio station a few minutes ago to discuss with EZ Street and the listeners about the real reasons he was dropped from the Double Up tour. Reports broke today stating that Ne-Yo had been dropped from the tour because of a certain unsigned contract. Ne-Yo did say in these reports that the whole situation was unfortunate because he had been practicing for months and had already performed shows. But Ne-Yo now says that he was told to tell people his being dropped was due to financial and contractual issues. But actually it was because he challenged some of the goings on behind the scenes of the tour. And that may or may not (he purposely remained vague on the issue)have led to contractual obligations not being fulfilled. He discussed how simple things like a dressing room were not given to him and his dancers because R. Kelly wanted all 7 of the dressing rooms to himself. He also said that R. Kelly and his people were quite unprofessional and demanded Ne-Yo's rehearsal times be cut short. Basically he wasn't feeling the respect level given to him and said "No" to many of the unplanned and slightly disrespectful changes. And apparently, after Keyshia Cole threw a fit and threatened to not perform on opening night because she didn't like that R. Kelly's people slated her to go on before Ne-Yo, they didn't drop her for challenging their decisions.  And Keyshia still ended up not performing that night.  Ne-Yo says all that wasn't cool and he's being treated unfairly. He says he definitely still respects R. Kelly musically, but not as a man. Sounds like The Kells' divatude is back in play...reminiscent of the Best of Both Worlds Tour with Jay-Z. And we all know how that ended up. Ne-Yo was asked about whether any lawsuits would come of this and he responded with the typical "We'll see what happens" response. He also says now that he has all this free time on his hands, he's trying to put something together on his own for his fans. Peep the audio: [audio:neyo.mp3] Interesting.

Mike, that's what up. We as black people need to stop and get our communities back, start taking care of our children and ladies, please, please start respecting your worth, you need to know that you are worth more. A man is only going to respect you if you demand it. If all women start, than who do they have to run to. Think about it.

Thank God people are coming

Thank God people are coming to their senses about R.Kelly. I knew he was a pedophile when he and Aaliyah ran off and got married. If we as a community stand behind these kind of people and give them support, what does that say about our standards? We know the difference between right and wrong, but we must be willing to stop making excuses for lawbreakers just because they are black---there are so many honest, decent, hardworking people out there and our community knowingly throws its support behind the worst of the bunch and reward their bad behavior with fame and wealth. We can teach our children about right and wrong all day long, but when they see everyday that doing the wrong thing gets better results, it is hard to keep them on the straight and narrow.

The reality of events can often be more entertaining then the lopsided logic and spurious spins being reported by Diva DJ’s and Wanna-be limelight seekers. Ne-Yo’s radio interviews regarding this matter weighted more against his argument then building upon it. *Sniff* *Sniff* smells like Jay-Z trying to throw a smoking gun into Kelly’s lawsuit (Jay-Z’a counter was thrown out). Not to mention that Ne-Yo is under Jay-Z’s label/thumb. For those intelligent listeners think about it, Ne-Yo admitted on Ed Lover’s show that he initially refused to take his crew to Columbus to practice and that they were practicing in Atlanta, instead. Ne-Yo also admitted that he was told by the Kelly folks that he’d “better” get his butt up to Columbus and rehearse on that stage (which anyone in the business knows is important in the event of some unforeseen matters that might need to be adjusted accordingly--like lights, sound and so forth). Once Ne-Yo reluctantly agreed and arrived in Columbus, his 4 hours was reduced to 2 hours because he used that time up debating and protesting. Ne-Yo was learning quickly he had to be a team player and just because he decided to finally give-in and act professionally, other performers who were already in place needed to use the stage to practice on as well. Ne-Yo’s time was cut because of his decisions, not anyone else's. Similarly, if Ne-Yo had to "fight" for a dressing room, and Kelly took them all, then where did J Holiday and Keisha get dressed? Ne-Yo may be a neophyte but his manager needs to get fired if he allowed his client to go on tour without a contract under any circumstances. Or, perhaps Ne-Yo wanted to fly freestyle because he knew he had other rods in the proverbial flame while the tour was in motion. Notice Ne-Yo never explained how he "only" did 2 of the "5" performances "BEFORE" he was removed from the line-up that Monday. While Ne-Yo played his fans by trying to collect sympathy, let’s also consider his lack of explaining how he’d missed the Greensboro, Birmingham, and Charlotte gigs because he was at the Music Awards performing with Rhianna. He didn't seem to worry about those fans missing the opportunity to hear him perform then, nor has he fully explained that when he finally sauntered back to the tour that fateful Monday he was about to head off again to the Macy's Day parade in NYC while the tour was performing in Newark that very same day. And then there were the continuos ribbon cuttings for the Ronald Houses and don't forget the masquerade ball he was planing. And as far as upstaging Kelly. He wishes. I have scoured the net looking for reviews and Ne-Yo’s name, let alone his performance recap, never made it to more than one or two lines in any of the papers or on the e-news-net while still on the tour. In fact, Ne-Yo didn’t get past the blink of an eye for his presence on the Double-up tour until he pulled his disappearing acts that did catch the eye of the tour’s promoter, Rowe Entertainment. When Ne-Yo refused to sign the agreement, which meant he’d have to forego the Macy’s parade (unless he could split himself and be in two places at once, or only fly around the country to cut ribbons when the tour had a 2-day break every 4 shows, or else he’d be held in breach)---Ne-Yo decided to “Cry Wolf” and finally figured a way to get the attention he felt he deserved, but had failed to yield on the 2 performances out of the 5 actually done. But then---Thank GOODNESS! some Ne-Yo fan posted his anti-climatic performance clips from Columbus, where his mimicking Michael J’s steps seem several beats behind the frenzy Jackson made famous. And in keeping with Ne-Yo’s self professed idol MJ I noticed Ne-Yo generously sprinkles MJ’s trademark "ohhh's" marking each stanza, as well as Ne-Yo’s attempt to James Brown his mic. And finally, the boy needs a choreographer, his dancers are as uninteresting as his amateurish performance itself. I'll stick to listening to his records, I do enjoy his music. Hate Kelly all you want. But at least his material is unlike anyone else's----whether that is a good or bad thing or even bizarre, is left for the audience to determine----but it is definitely wildly entertaining and unlike anything I have seen or can imagine someone actually doing. And, isn’t that why we pay the price of those costly tickets? Otherwise, we can simply save our money and just by the CD. So here's the links from youtube of Ne-Yo in his Columbus’ Double-up performance. You be the Judge: "go to 'YouTube' and type in "Ne-Yo double-up tour"[/quote] Well said. I agree with everything you said. Thank You!!!!

I really think that R. Kelly is suffering from a little bit of a mental disorder. He clearly feels threatened when he works with other talented male artists. Does anyone remember when he tried to diss Joe (his R/B competition at the time when he was first exposed on his sex scandal?) Kells needs to understand that you can't be "on top" all of the time. Let others shine.

Kelly does, not only because I believe he is sexually deranged and its been supported by WAY too many claims, instances and videotapes, but because even tho im a huge fan of his earlier work, when I saw the TP2 concert,he did this 20-minute long vingette on his conversation w/ God to please forgive him.His last album is whack. His attitude sucks.I hope he's on his way out.I gained respect for Ne-Yo when I found out he is throwing a benefit concert here in Atlanta to save our Grady hospital, which serves multiple counties and is in danger of closing due to financial difficulties. It is refreshing to see a celebrity be so young and talented with a giving and caring spirit,as opposed to hearing an egotistical,narcissistic,out-of-touch-with-reality,in-his- forties-year-old man, singing about Doubling It Up and how he's still in the club, with the baddest bitches, but he's gonna steal YOUR chick, and take her home so he can hear her make Jungle sounds........OOOOOOOOOOOO.......AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Yeah ya'll. Good luck with that. Keep your goals in focus Ne-Yo......I support you.

AMEN to that one. Kells should be under house arrest or something until his trial begins, during it, and until he is sentenced and hauled off to jail. Ne-Yo is my fave male singer out now and I would pay the money I would have paid to see Kells for Ne-Yo. I understand that a person is innocent until proven guilty but, like Michael Jackson, Kells has be accused of doing stuff like this for a loooong time so to me he is guilty. Mike Vick loses basically everything after ADMITTING his faults and is still persecuted for his actions, why can't the same happen to Kells and let him get PROSECUTED for his crimes? Keyshia Cole is a mess. I do like her, but I refuse to watch her show (and the station it's on, but that's another topic). She will be ghetto because she can. She is doing what she loves, getting paid for it and no one is going to ask her to change. As for the show, I've heard people talk about it and they like it. Of course the producers like it because there's drama and that's what people want to see. So I do think it will continue to air. I had to laugh at the Ne-Yo Foolywang comment....that was funny. He is truly a talented artist. His albums are good....full of REAL music. I mean he has a freaky side, but that's not all he sings about. He's a dancer and writer. He doesn't have an album full of duets and he really can sing (I've heard him live, up close with no music).

It wasn't Kellz; it was the tour promoters that fouled up shit! Kellz doesn't need Ne-Yo. It's evident because he is still getting great reviews from dedicated fans that are flocking to see him. So here's the links from youtube of Ne-Yo in his Columbus’ Double-up performance. You be the Judge: "go to 'YouTube' and type in "Ne-Yo double-up tour"

No wonder white people don't

No wonder white people don't respect us? are you serious! Who gives a f... if white people don't respect us, we need to love and respect ourselves.. as far as Ne-Yo touring solo.. he can do it with smaller venues... he can't sell out arenas on his own. Too bad, so sad... And R-ruh... ewww... I can't even jam my olds skool R anymore cause of what he has done.

Say it again! How can they

Say it again! How can they judge Kellz based on what Ne-Yo said. He is just a bitter punk anyway! The issues at hand seems like Ne-Yo's people dropped the ball on the contract issues. Every aspect should be ironed out for the entire tour prior to signing or performing! The papers didn't print everything anyway. I heard Ne-Yo whinning to Big Tigger on the radio. It wasn't Kellz; it was the tour promoters that fouled up shit! Kellz doesn't need Ne-Yo. It's evident because he is still getting great reviews from dedicated fans that are flocking to see him. With or without Ne-Yo, the show must go on! Stop hating! Let GOD judge Kellz on his legal woes. I will see Kellz Friday in New Orleans and don't give a rat's a$$ who likes it or doesn't!

I'm from Chicago and don't

I'm from Chicago and don't like R. Kelly. I love Ne-Yo. I think he is really talented and I think he will, eventually, be larger than R. Kelly. R. Smelly gets no RESPECT from me! He be walking around and strunting around Chicago like he's all that; and the brothers here give him no respect. I know quite a few people that work with him and he is a royal asshole, I've seen him a couple of times and he is a royal asshole. He won't sign autographs for the younger kids, you have to ask for permission to speak to him. I will tell his ass "You ain't shit sir!" I will go see Ne-Yo before I will go see R. Kelly.

Neyo didn't have no business

Neyo didn't have no business on that Ghetto tour any way. He's good enough to have his own tour. But, About R.Kelly... Bless his heart.I always hear people talk about R.Kelly and say how much they hate his music and don't buy his CD.But,Kells is still going platinum. R.Kelly hasn't been right since his mother passed away going on 10 years. I know she has to be disappointed in her son and famiy. What I don't understand is he has childen.2 daughter and 1 son. How would he feel if a older man have sex with his daughters or son.(I heard he's Bi.)How would he feel?I feel sorry for Mr.Kelly. He is a lost soul with a gift.I like all of his up lifting song. My favorite is "He Saved Me". R is fight a serious fight for his soul with the devil.(Look like Devil is winning). But,I have to say. I don't agree on his life style( But,I have no right to judge.I rather pray for him). Still a Fan of his music.. Peace

From what I understand that was an ALLEGATION, no one knows whether or not that was true, you can't always go on what you "hear"...that's all I'm saying. Sometimes everything that seems common sense, isn't

PEOPLE,PEOPLE,rkelly is using

PEOPLE,PEOPLE,rkelly is using other artists to launch a concert for himself. THINK! rkelly would not be able to bring in the crowd or ticket holders without other artists (some favorite artists) pinning the alegations, charges & date with a judge. rkelly is messing with Ne-Yo,Cole, & others to make them drop out or cut preformances, etc. That way in the end he is doing most of the show or concert. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!
