R.S.F.: Folks Really Hate Some Keyshia Cole
This edition of Reader Submitted Foolishness is submitted by fab reader Thalia from Columbus, GA. Apparently folks in Columbus are extra pissy about Key Key Cole refusing to perform the other night on the Double Up Tour. She sat backstage and threw a hissy fit about being made to go on first instead . So some folks took it upon themselves to make a YouTube video explaining how they feel:
Wow. Hilarious yet sad at the same time.

So the Rocsi/Terrence 106 & Park walk-off-the-set-drama is over. Or is it? Rocsi's people say things were blown out of proportion. But viewers think there's more to the story.

She has a beautiful voice but she is still very young. She still has alot of growing to do as an artist. I think that she will be a major success one day. I love her music. There are only a few albums that I will buy and hers is one of them. I would rather listen to her music than Beyonce, Ashanti, or Rihanna’s ghetto tracks.

What’s not funny is that Keisha is losing fan base over this. Coming up as a ghetto girl she feels like she has to stand up for herself and not let people take advantage of her or let people do her wrong. She felt wronged by the line-up with her going before Ne-Yo. What she failed to understand was she needed to stand up for herself, let it be known she did not like the line-up AND STILL PERFORM FOR THE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO SEE HER. She probably thought that she was messing up the concert for the people that organized the show and ended up messing over herself with all this bad blood with the fans. I’m pulling for her to get it together, she is very talented. She needs to get Mary J to mentor her in making the transition from ghetto girl to classy business woman a smooth transition.

On Nov 21, 2007 at 1:07 pm | Reply | QuoteKeyshia deserves this. Keyshia is not that young. She is 26 years old to be exact. That is old enough to know how to handle yourself with dignity. Sure she has been through alot, but who hasn’t? That still does not give her or anyone the right to go through life being a mean-spirited b*tch. From radio interviews to this mess I am sick of her being hateful and using her past as an excuse. She has been blessed to do what she loves, be paid well for it and all she can do is be a random b*tch? SMH……….
She has had alot of examples of what not to do and how to fix it if you do, mainly from her mentor Mary J. Blige. If she is going to mimic her, then I suggest she mimic the current one and not the past Mary. Even Mary herself said that there are big time magazines, companies, photographers and producers that will not work with her because of her past behavior. Keeping it real is not worth ruining your reputation.
So for all the young black women that thinking she is “keeping it real, because she is hood”, you are fooled. She is keeping it real stupid and basicaly nothing but a stereotype to everyone outside of her bubble.

Ke-Ke, my hood sister, I understand your plight, your goings-on, how you feel when folks WRONG you; HOWEVER, there comes a time when you must STAND with your head held high, shoulders back, and prove to your loyal fans that you are WAYYYYYYYYY better than Kelly R-rah AND the fact that you had to go on PRE Ne-Yo. You are JUST getting your feet wet in this here “game”. I, too, am a direct result of the Hood BUT I am not letting what people do and how they come at me DICTATE how I WILL RESPOND! And to Erica, Kellz (even tho’ I ain’t feeling him rat-now) is NOT what’s making Ke-Ke “act out”, it is HER. She needs to be responsible for her own actions (you gotta grow up really fast in THIS business); OTHERWISE, her fans will retreat and find another artist that can hold their own, belt out the notes just as good as she can, and one who don’t hold hissy-fits! You better ask KANYE what the deal is! He used to have those Temper Tantrums and his fan base spiraled downward…now he’s eating some humble pie!

I don’t think people are so hard on her for no reason. I went to her concert at the Kodak Theater here in LA earlier this year, and she was a littler unprofessional yelling at the stage hands during her show, and VERY GHETTO. When someone continues to do unprofessional ish during interviews, apperances and the like, its a lot easier to believe the rumors about them having f’d up attitudes. There are aspects of your career that you may not like but you have to keep it professional at all times. Even NEYO was kicked off the tour and although he was upset he still remained professional during his interview and when he talked about the situation he didn’t disrespect Keyshia or Kellz, and thats why he’ll gain fans and Keyshia won’t.

Your fans will support you and demand 2 encores because you were so good. We all have our story just because it doesn’t matches hers exactly doesn’t mean we dont all have our baggage and dysfucntional families that we grew up in. Professionalism is porfessionalism and there is never any excuse for bad behaviour. She does have an attitude and it always has to be her way or the highway. The show is good but it is clear that she is simply exploiteing her mom and sister for ratings, we get to hear all their dirt, yet never any dirt on her, she is so squeaky clean, while they are the eff ups. Keyshia, ur ass is just as crazy as your sister and mom and we all know you got lots of skeletons in the closet just like they do. You may be the most successful, but you are not better than them.
I still wish her all the best, at least she is ambitious and trying to make something out of her life, for that she got my respect.

But, Keyshia also sais Mary has told her on numerous occassions to not repeat her past mistakes because they do nothing but cause you to burn bridges that you will later need. Its important to humble yourself in life in order to get ahead. The bible continously tells us this.
Take a Ashanti for instance, she was on a mini tour when Oprah called her to host her talent search show, Ashanti dropped everything and did it. Because of that, she created a bond with Oprah so sincere that she was invited to something so exclusive as her Legends Luncheon and Ball. Imagine what its like to be a personal favorite person of the most powerful person in entertainment.

What’s not cool is to see someone disrespect the people that helped them get their dream. By not performing Keisha basically said forget about the fans, its all about me. That attitude has lost her some fans. This and some of her past options
definitely cost her some endorsement opportunities and potential business partners. Keeping it real does not mean burning bridges with the people that put money in your pocket.
And make no mistake Mary J Blige is still the business. From the beginning she has touched the lives of countless women with her honesty and her spirit. When she has made mistakes (no shows or being rude) most of the time it was an interview or photo shoot - not a performance. She may have performed while high as a kite, but she always performed. I’ve even seen her go off on some one standing in the wings while she was on stage, but she did not dis the fans. She can have new releases into her 50’s if she wants to because no matter what, Mary has thanked and honored her fans.

And being “bourgie” is being respectful, humble, patient and GRACIOUS FOR EVEN BEING GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF OTHER YOUNG SINGERS WOULD DIE FOR. Its funny how black people are encouraged to be as unlikeable as possible in the name of being “real” or “hood.” Why is it so wrong for black folk to set a standard of class and respect without having to resort to ignorance and disrespect? I’m black. I didn’t grow up in “the hood.” The hood doesn’t blanket every single black person’s experience, so I’m sick to death of it being held up as an example of “Realness.” If Keyshia wants to keep it street, go ahead. But the again, she should also know that people in the street don’t appreciate having their money effed up. Being from the street, she should know that if somebody pays her behind for something, she needs to deliver or deal with the consequences. Who’s on first be damned.

If I want to see Keyshia all I have to do is look up at the ceiling, yup, the ceiling.. I have a large poster of Keyshia stapled to my ceiling, each night before sleep I lay down and masturbate while staring in her eyes, I also try to hit her face with my jizz but I’m usually about 10ft to short.. must….. practice……. more.
