Dayum, I didn’t know Fanny was missing shows. Everyone in my DC Govt. office and plenty of others were juiced to see her. I would have been pissed if she was in it when me and my mother saw the show last year. Fantasia? Happy for her success but I don’t think so. I’d much rather see a trained Broadway actor than a singin’ hoochie on stage. She’s just not my style, but that’s just me. I heard she’s really good in the role though…funny I’ve never heard about this-you’d think the black morning radio DJs would have talked about it.

That Broadway grind aint no joke. This isnt American Idol Fanny….. on Broadway you got to WORK!

I am so sick and ashamed of Fanny — I LOVED her on American Idol. I thought she had acute style/image and represented the sisters well - esp. with her slamming haircut—-her first album - I bought it to support her even though it sucked—I wanted to really believe in her — her second album - yek! WIth her in the videos with her country bama arse hangin’ out - I was SO not impressed…she has devolved into a ghetto, country, stereotypical mess….she could have been so polished and just a new breed of performer (b/c she can definitely sang)—-but nooooo - she appears on Cribs half dresses with grandma draws on, gets knocked up by YET another babby daddy, misses many show performances, act tired, stank, funky, and uneducated on TV….she cannot speak well (I thought she spoke better on AI - but I guess that was all an act for votes) —- shame, shame, shame Fantasia….you have wasted a real opportunity to be a true star —-now- you have a reputation for being a little bit difficult, always late, loud, obnoxious, and very unprofessional —- my church went to see you perform (I declined b/c I had hear the rumors that she is barely in any shows) - and they were upset that you cancelled and your understudy had to perform —- Ihope you are blackballed from the industry so that other blk artists who respect their craft and their talent - not to mention their fans actually get a chance to shine….. these American Idol chicks got me so hopeful b/c they can blow - but her and JHuds attitude are out of control — I WAS a true fan of them both - now - they dont (including Ruben) have to worry about my support anymore —- funny how the yt AI folkd can show up to work, stay humble (at least when the microphone is on (except for Clay - he’s a mess)) and just do their job and collect their effin checks and grammys—but US —noooo we either blow up to the size of Rhodr Island and put out crappy songs (Ruben, Fanny) or we diss industry legends just to get our shine on (JHud)—- All three have a terrible work ethic — way to capitalize off the opportunity to fully REPRESENT guys —- you all should be ashamed…..

Oh snap, I thought people were calling Shi Shi’s dress a shirt because it is so short, I didn’t realize it really was a shirt, and her thighs no ma’am. As a big woman you have to know when you can show skin, and what skin is fit to show.

THE BROADWAY SCHEDULE IS GRUELING AS HELL. NOBODY ON HERE UNLESS THEY HAVE FRIENDS ON BROADWAY OR ARE IN THAT INDUSTRY COULD POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND. THAT GIRL IS UP THERE REHEARSING THEN SINGING AND PERFORMING HER HEART OUT OFTENTIMES SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. SHE DOES HAVE A LIVE, AND MOST FOLKS ON BROADWAY ARE THERE BECAUSE THEY’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT. SHE IS A TALENT, AND I COMMEND HER FOR MAKING IT THIS FAR. Girl it sounds like you need a cup of tea or something because this thang got you stressed out and too damn upset. I personally like Fantasia, Ruben (even though that last album kind of sucked real talk), and J-Hud. Why did you group J-Hud and Ruben in that whole situation? I hadn’t heard anything about them but if you want to elaborate that would be helpful. Anyway, if Fantasia decided that she didn’t want to capitalize on her opportunity to shine on Broadway, baby, that’s her problem. I don’t have a thing to do with that but it seems like we should have heard something a long time ago if that was the case. Moving right along…

I flew to NY in July to see the Color Purple/Fantasia and what happened? She didn’t perform. I only flew in from Houston; think about the girl I met who had flown in from Paris to see Fanny…

I have no sympathy for Fanny….she’s still getting paid. She knew what she signed up for. It’s not like she has any concerts or new material to promote, so she might as well be on the stage singing and being thankful for the opportunity.

Its bad that she is missing performances, but the schedule is grueling. They are saying she missed 50 performances since she started. They probably do that many shows in a month. It seems she bit off more than she could chew.

I flew in to see the Colour Purple and was disappointed not to see Fantasha.
However, the understudy was fantastic and the show was the best theatre production I’ve seen.

I went to see Fanny in August and she only performed the first half, had an ” illness” second half.

I went to see the CP last fall b4 Fanny took over and it was so good I cried. I was wondering if they kicked the old Celie out to put Fanny in or if she left for other reasons. Anyways, so glad I flew in from nc to c it b4 all the Fanny hype. I would have been pissed. I agree that Fanny is devolving as soon as I saw that “Hot Boy” video where she looked like a hot ghetto mess. But, I’m still rooting 4 her b/c she’s the underdog from High Point, NC. All of these people saying all of these things based on unfounded information “reportedly” given to the media about Fantasia! Oprah and the producers of the play would have NEVER asked her to extend her stay (which she did) if she was missing so many shows and it was not a part of her agreed contract…Fantasia has done show after show after show…you don’t think she deserves a break every now and then…and besided she is the big money draw for the play since she has arrived so yes the box office should refund the patrons money because yes they came to see the show but mainly they come to see Fantasia in a role that she was born to play…i just say think before you automatically jump on some none existant bangwagon simply for the sake of “saying something”

I too am upset at Fantasia! My boyfriend and I traveled to NYC this past weekend and were very excited about watching Fantasia perform on Broadway. Well when we arrived we along with many others were disappointed to learn that she was not performing that day. I understand that Fantasia is human, but I was pissed. It’s not like I can just see a Broadway show anyday, we spent a lot of money staying in an over priced NYC hotel, and even more money on traveling expenses just to see her. Yes we were able to get our money back, but we felt that we wasted a lot of money for nothing! Especially with the Holidays right around the corner, and with me expecting a baby soon I need to save all the money that I can. I told my boyfriend that all I wanted for Christmas was to see Fantasia perform the Color Purple on Broadway. After reading the post and seeing that she has missed over 50 shows I’ve lost a lot of respect for Fantasia!

Some of you folks are so extra!! Let me see you perform 8 shows a week with no misses, then we’ll talk. Heck, some of you ain’t even making 40 hours a week. I went to see the play before Fannie, and I too had to settle for the understudy. I don’t hear you talking ish about LaChance, a trained Broadway actress, being absent. By the way, the understudy was Awesome!! I don’t think the other girl could have done much better. There was a whole cast of Black actresses and actors for you to support. The show has many stars. Fantasia does not make or break the play.

Why din’t you stay to see the show with the understudy or go to another show? Hell, you were in NYC. Isn’t there plenty to do there? I guess you don’t care WHY she was out. Maybe she was sick. I guess people want her to go onstage anyway and PASS THE FUCK OUT. 8 months this girl has been performing the role. Twice a day sometimes. What artist do you know today that could do 8 performances a week and not miss a show. It’s not a Fantasia concert every night. Or maybe it is? The show is still good without her. The rest of the cast is amazing and the story itself is amazing (very different from the movie).

Ok so is Fanny preggers by Young Dro or Gucci Mane??? I need to know…..
