Chris Stokes Issues ANOTHER “Official” Statement+David Banner Heals The Hood
So Chris Stokes issued yet another “statement” through his PR company in regards to Raz B.’s apology video:
“I’m happy that Demario “Raz B” Thorton and Ricardo Thorton realized their mistakes and admitted to lying. I have always supported my family and have always been a stand up person. I knew that the truth would eventually come to light.”
Yes, we heard somebody feeding Raz the lines of what to say in his suspect ass apology video. And yes, we peeped him not even being able to look into the camera. And yes, Chris, I saw you including your own uploaded version of the apology video in this e-mail statement from your PR company. At least try to act like you didn’t have anything to do with this apology. I’m just sayin’…
And David Banner hosted his Heal the Hood festivities this week. He went around to neighborhoods in Jackson, MS to make it rain with money and toys this Holiday season. And of course he made sure to let y’all know why every other “gangsta rapper” is whack for not doing the same thing. Interesting.

Being from the Sipp like DB, I applaud him for doing that. He is so vocal and adamant about giving back to the community (especially during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath - he was even sheltering folks himself). Yet all he gets (if he gets any) is bad press for riding against Oprah and Al Sharpton, and that whole Tip Drill thing. He is definitely one of the few rappers who, although their music is often not positive, tries to redeem himself in his actions. It’s really a shame that he and those like him are often ignored by popular media unless they get arrested. Even in this post, most of the posters could care less. (I know the B2K thing is juicy)
He is also a very intelligent and surprisingly articulate man who spoke to my class in high school. If you met him, you could tell his whole rap persona is an image cultivated from years of living on the streets (which he did), but it’s not really who he is anymore. Damn…that was long as hell.
