With that said, I concur 100% that there is a problem when Tiger's good friend talks about lynching him and he defends her instead. That dude needs a reality check.

I think Tiger's reaction or lack of reaction has to do with the fact that he and his have endured worst treatment within the golf world. I think his response is to beat them at their own game and break down barriers that exist in doing so. While this strategy worked for him the past he should change it now because he is at the top of his field and he has the clout to address racism within golf when it occurs. The editor of this magazine used this incident as an opportunity to glorify a sentiment that many whites within golf share... I am glad he was swiftly dealt with. May justice always be so swift for us.

For those who say Blacks are over-reacting, I say, A noose is the equivalent of what a German Swastika is to a Jewish person, it denotes hatred and death. Tiger Woods reaction was correct for the mistake the reporter made (he has known her for 11 years) The problem of the magazine was dealt with correctly, the editor and also the vice-president was fired. America has come a long way. Years back Whites would have circled-the-wagon and defended this "hate speech", but they now know better and didn't wait for it to become a us versus them problem.

MG Green, The editor was saying that Tighman put herself and the rest of the golf commentators in a "noose" b/c of her stupidity. He chose to use a electrifying image to make folks pick the mag up (this is debatable, and I'm on the fence about the use of the image), but his point was that Tighman had essentially hung HERSELF with her asinine statement.

Not surprised, they think this shyt is a joke.

It's really SAD, what else can be said?? When you think your moving up & out it is always something to push you back down & further in!!! oh people get OVER yourselves! i get so tired of oversensitive black people. the editor of the magazine chose the picture because it was complete relevant to the story. was it just a noose and a caption that said "Git 'im boys" ??? NO! i'd wager that about 90 percent of the people up in arms about the cover don't even know the complete story behind it. did it ever occur to you that the noose was choosen to intentionally bring attention to a story that warranted exposure. i'm so shit of this sh*t: a noose is automatically racist, being called black is automatically an insult... all we're doing is spinning our wheels and, meanwhile, some of the worst hate comes from within the black community. yes, blacks have been victimized in various ways, but that doesn't mean we have to continued to behave as victims!

I didn't see a black person hanging from that noose, in effigy. The gist of the article was that TILGHMAN made a stupid azz statement and that the GOLF CHANNEL couldn't wiggle free; so basically, if anyone was caught up in that noose reference, it was those two, not Tiger and not black people. Damn, let's get angry about the mother and child that was shot by the police, after raiding her house because her man was selling drugs from there. Let's get angry about these fools putting their family in harm's way because they choose to sell drugs in the house where their family resides.
