Oscars 2008: So Forest Fed Her Some Greens?
Keisha Whitaker was looking way less hungry tonight (seriously) on the Oscars red carpet:

Photogs: AP/Vespa
That eat-nan-a-piece-of-foood diet is not what’s hot in the streets. Fabulous dress and she looked even more fabulous in it. Heavy bronzer and all. And her hubby Forest looked quite dapper himself in a custom-made tuxedo by Domenico Vacca. And he rocked over $100k in diamonds: Kwiat Platinum, Diamond, and Onyx Cufflinks and a Chris Aire Platinum, Diamond, and Red Gold Traveler Watch. Nice.
OSCAR UPDATE: Ruby Dee did not win for Best Supporting Actress tonight. Damn.

So the Rocsi/Terrence 106 & Park walk-off-the-set-drama is over. Or is it? Rocsi's people say things were blown out of proportion. But viewers think there's more to the story.

However, I know that her life, her legacy, and her work will continue to illustrate what true class, talent, and integrity represents. Hollywood can snub her on the Oscar, but they can not deny the doors she has opened nor the influence she has had on the performing arts.

I’m not giving it to her just becuase she’s a black women (and i’m a black male so i can talk). Hell in my opinion jennifer hudson didnt deserve it last year

I think alot of times we as black people soley look at things one sided. If anyone from that movie should have been nominated, it should have been Denzel. I’d give him the oscar for AG before Training Day. I’m salute what they are doing for our people, especially young black women, but the oscars is not based on that. If that where the case than yeah, give them (jennifer hudson, ruby dee)the award

I have to agree with you about Ruby Dee. I honestly felt that the other nominees in that category gave more powerful/riveting performances (I watched all the nominated films). How many of you can honestly say that you were rooting for her because you thought she was the best and not because she’s black. I do that sometimes I have to admit (e.g always rooting for the black athlete/contestant on a reality show etc. etc.) which is fine in the sense that we gotta support our own- but I think that too often we are blinded by color and I try to hold myself up to the same standards that I would others.

As far as Ruby Dee, she has a body of excellent work and sometimes actors get nominated for just that. Halle Berry and Denzel should have had Oscars for “Losing Isaiah” and “Malcolm X” but they didn’t get it til much later. That’s just the way Hollywood rolls sometimes when it comes to black folk…sadly

Then when they gain some weight (ie Megan Goode), they are pregnant and/or need to lose weight. Why can’t we just celebrate beauty no matter the package it comes in? Jennifer Hudson is too fleshy and Keisha is too thin. Gimme a break…let’s just celebrate beauty and not the damn weight on a scale.

But most of the black women on here are clownin on Forest Whitikers wife and they get a pass. Wow i have to go back to my book of slang and read the definition of hating one more time. Good looking out Arianna, and yes Joe most of us men are alike stop tryna get points lmao.

If her nomination was based soley on the entire scope of her career, then I would say yes she is more then deserving of the award. While, her supporting role in American Gangster may not have been as “Oscar-worthy,” as others I think she is long overdue for one. She should have gotten one for A Raisin In The Sun.

That was not some of his best work but he was long overdue for one. Same with Denzel, his role as a “villian” in training day was nowhere near as good as his role in american gangster. He should’ve taken it home for Malcom X, but thats how the ball bounces i guess.

Being less than 5′9 and wieghing 140 is unhealthy. Go ask your doctor. i understand that most black women are overwieght but that doesnt mean you can bash a beautiful woman for being thin with a small waist and being light skinned. Youre all obviouly insecure since you have tummy bulges rolls and a gym membership that never gets used. if you are 5′7-5′9 it is healthy to wieght between 110 and 140. if you are 5′0-5′5 125 is pushing it. God you people need med school

But on the flip side, J Hudson shouldn’t have won an oscar either. She simply didn’t deserve it.
