Political Fab: David Paterson Takes Over As First Black NY Governor

    Paterson and his wife

NY Governor Eliot Spitzer announced his resignation about a hour ago thanks to him getting caught up in a prostitution ring.  Since ”allegedly” sexing it up with high priced prostitutes is not becoming of a NY Governor, Lt. Governor David Paterson is taking over as Governor of New York on March 17th and is the first black man (he’s also of Dominican heritage) to do so.  Paterson also made history by becoming the first legally blind person to address the Democratic National Convention and the first visually impaired person to become Governor of any state.  Nice.

In other news, Barack killed the Mississippi primary last night

But most importantly, our children now have accomplished people to look up to. With Barack and Patterson doing big things, it’s a new day.

At one of Barack Miss. Townhall Meetings, a little black boy name Darryl, stood up and asked Obama, “Can I have your autograph?”, it was a simple question, but it made me emotional. These black kids finally have a black man, to look up to, that isn’t a rapper or an athlete. How great is that? It’s a new day.

For that reason alone I support Obama…its time to change the image of black America both home and abroad. No more will we only be seen in handcuffs or bouncing a ball…but finally as leaders and even better than the majority

Let me tell you… That is deep.
This is the beginning of something that We as a people, and those before us have dreamed about. I’m 22, and I hope by the time I’m 42, that we make even more strides beyond the usual sports, and music industries. I really hope that we continue this upward move, and don’t let the negative things that’ll come (because they will come) out weigh the good. Feel me?

I’m just amazed at how Spitzer’s actions have taken over all media. There are segments on the Today show that teach you how to talk to your chilren after a parent has cheated, segments on why men cheat more than women (?), and the like. But, no segment on the negative consequences that women selling there bodies for sexual advances has on everyone! At least this opens for many forms of dialogue. Big ups to Lt. Govenor Patterson making way for all forms of oppressed people, including those with disabilities!

All that’s happening is great but we still got some thangs in the community we need to address…we are still a work in progress. I’m hoping that young people are taking notes of all this forward movement. I also hope that adults are making sure that these young people know to invest in their communities and build strong families. We can heal and progress people!

That is why I was so disgusted when Barack was asked would he be her VP? How is it that he is practically slaughtering her in every state, he has more delegates than she has but they are asking HIM would HE be HER VP? Why didn’t they ask HER if SHE would be HIS VP since she is trailing? The racism is so blatant it is disgusting but we gonna have an eclipse out this mofo with all our Black people in office, lol.

Also they are stating that there hasn’t been a deal struck yet for Govt. Spitzer? What deal? Why should he get a deal? When he was ball busting did he offer anyone a deal? No, so he shouldn’t get a deal - u step down AND you get a jail term buddy for using state tax dollars to purchase airline tickets, to pay for hotel rooms & for our tax dollars to pay for security to secure u when u was paying for the punanny!!!!

(Also, sidebar - i need to know what these chicks was doing for $5,500 per hour cuz i’m gonna have to raise my rates, lol - just joking)

David Patterson’s heritage is indeed Carribean-Grenadian and Jamaican-not Dominican. He is legally blind. I think he has no vision in one eye and limited vision in the other.

I was thinking the same thing….all the media talk and no coverage on the women selling their bodies and ending the pimp n’ ho organizations. They are quick to talk about a madame but nothing about these ‘clubs’ providing the services.
