Fantasia’s Unsure+Concert Fab

I was sent these pics of Fantasia and her daughter Zion at the Cherry Blossom parade in Virginia this weekend:

Secret will work wonders next time Fanny. Be at peace with the invisible solid and it will return the favor.

Zion’s a cutie though.

Flo Rida performed at a MTVu concert in Boston this weekend:

Oskin

Damn.

And Erykah Badu performed at her tour stop with in Detroit this weekend:

Warner/Wireimage

Working it out I see.

Melyssa Ford, Tank, and actress Arica Adams partied it up in Miami at the Hazel Eyez Experience:

Tamargo/Wireimage

Um, T-Boz. Isn’t that your man Takeo Spikes? Come get ya man.

And Diddy was spotted still partying it up to celebrate his Walk of Fame star.

A friend of mine who went to was in Federal prison said that these guys don’t realize what they are doing when they wear their pants down “Lo” like that (pun intended). He told me that the inmates would wear their pants low like that to signify that they were “available”! The straight guys wore their pants normal and when the gay/downlow guys had a “boyfriend” that they pulled their pants up, wore it normally but then they would pull their pocket out, so it was showing on the outside so when their “man” saw them he could just snatch em up close to them like “Come her bwoy - u mines” So these dudes who wear their pants down low like this don’t even understand what message they are really sending out! I *THINK* Cam Diaz is tryna put on a hip-hop mug…you know that FACE you make when you hug yourself in that classic hip-hop pose? I’m GUESSIN’ that’s what the fish face is about. Either that, or the Olsen twins taught her how to smile.

Flo-Rida on the other hand seems like he’s tryna do what 50 did…come out w/the roided up torso-n-tats to distract us and get us on his team. This dude looks a lil’ dingy to me though. Maybe it’s because I simply prefer chocolate (and I guess that’s why I thought 50’s body was cool).

I agree! Who on here has never eva had sweat stains, but deal! Stopping your body from sweating is not good for you! I gravitate towards all natural products. I use deodorant but NOT sntiperperant. Sweating is a natural bodily function that you should not inhibit. It’s like holding in you gas, or burps, or poop, or tears. If it needs to come out, let it come out. When you wear antipersperant you clog up your glands with chemicals - metals specifically - like aluminum. This has been shown to up the risk factor for cancer, and cause hormonal irregularities in women! It can be annoying, but I don’t smell, so I just wear things i know won’t suffocate my underarms. TMI, i know but we need to educate ourselves!!

American Heritage® Dictionary: Description of culture
NOUN: 1a. The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought. b. These patterns, traits, and products considered as the expression of a particular period, class, community, or population: Edwardian culture; Japanese culture; the culture of poverty. c. These patterns, traits, and products considered with respect to a particular category, such as a field, subject, or mode of expression: religious culture in the Middle Ages; musical culture; oral culture. d. The predominating attitudes and behavior that characterize the functioning of a group or organization.

Culture isn’t always constructive (there’s a drug culture), it is supposed to be. What you’re speaking of is what developed in the vacuum of not having a culture based on self affirmation. Not trying to preach and sure nuff not trying to dis’ but of all the things Africans have done since the beginning of Time this is probably the most insignificant and dangerous. Also it ain’t necessarily Hip Hop culture, if you notice conscious Hip Hop artist (Mos Def, Twalib Kwali, The Roots etc.) don’t wear pants that offer access to their asses.

But then again, maybe they do!! How YOU doing?! lol

thats a myth that ive been hearing since middle school from people that try to devalue urban culture

Devalue urban culture? Yeah, the f*ck right. There is no value in sagging your pants. Most women don’t think it’s cute, I can’t speak for little girls. And it isn’t a myth: Whitey didn’t sit in a backroom and concoct this outrageousness, it had to come from somewhere…ie: PRISON! If you want culture, read a book, go to an art museum, take a trip to Africa, but please for heaven’s sake don’t sag you damn pants and call it culture. It’s ignorance at its best.

please, there is no need for all the cursing and antagonism, if you want do disagree with me do it with some class. regardless of where it originated, and whether u like it or not sagging is part of an emerging urban culture: hip hop culture. it may not b the culture of your generation, but it is a culture non the less. and please i’ve read books, enough to get me a degree in both psychology and African American studies. and i have been to Africa, in fact i was raised there.

I’m not into personal attacks, but degrees in Psychology and African American Studies aren’t difficult majors, which is why they are often coupled together: try again. You previously stated that sagging pants coming from prison is a myth. Had you read a book on the Black male in your African American studies classes, or perhaps in your extracurricular time, you would know that it is not myth. And you would also know that the hip hop culture has nothing to do with sagging pants. Sagging is a fad started by rappers who spent in prison (there that word goes again!) who brought their subtle homosexual dress code to the street. These rappers didn’t step onto the scene until the mid 90’s, well after the hip hop culture was founded. Please, don’t try to stamp sagging onto the well established culture, as I doubt Funky Four Plus One More, Double Trouble, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, or Run DMC would appreciate you lack of historical knowledge.

No THAT Hair looks like koolaid, what flavor…..RED….LOL

You ain’t never lie! I’m minoring in Africana Studies and this is all so true. PLEASE BLACK PEOPLE DO NOT CONFUSE HIP HOP CULTURE OR URBAN CULTURE WITH PRISON CULTURE! If anything the fact that you, as a Black female, does not even know the difference between the two devalues it more than anything else could.
