In the video was her father, pat- grandmother, mat-grandmother, and sister~ It is actually, nice that MiMi didn’t hold back showing her black side. And Nick was like an afterthought in this video. The focus was not about them two like in any classic, male-female vid. His presence is a bit weird, but to see her physical with a man,period, is a treat.

Bye Bye is a good single choice. I think it’ll be a hit. I didn’t care too much for the video at first, because it was a bit all over the place. But I liked it towards the end when she acknowldged the family members she lost and also ODB and Luther. That was a nice touch to the video.

This video is about losing someone you love. The end of the video made sense. I had NO IDEA her SISTER Allyson died.

I agree, the end of the video made the most sense. I guess the first part was supposed to be her experiencing everything without certain loved ones?? I dunno.. And the Nick Cannon cameo? No added value to the theme of the video for me. I know that’s her new boo and all… but really tho??

Outside of the Nick Cannon cameo, which makes no sense to me, I think the idea of the video is that she is still going through her normal life, however she’s having to deal with it without her loved ones that have passed. Sort of a “I move forward, but I can’t forget” kind of idea. And that photoshoot is actually the Vibe Magazine shoot. So she’s just doing all the normal Mariah stuff basically saying, I do all this…but I still miss you. I thought it was very cute.

also nick is in the video because mariah is very protective about herself with men and it has to do with her childhood and what she’s gone through with tommy, and now she is letting go of all that and just loving themoment of being with nick. but she won’t forget ya know?!

I don’t think that’s Jenny Craig behind Latifah. I thought MiMi’s video was beautiful. (even with Nickelodeon Cannon). I love how she had clips of her with Pavorati and Luther Vandross.

Why would anybody truly care who Mariah is married to. DO any of you who are commenting about her marriage even KNOW her. Please, don’t get caught up in people’s lives especially when they don’t know you or you know them, Because you buy their CDs doesn’t make you a part of their lives. I sure as hell know that Mariah has never invited any of you over to dinner or on vacay with her, so shut the hell up already and penetrate your own life.

In the video, Nick looks like he is sprung and confused. She must have really put it on him..lol. She wants kids, so I think she’ll get a baby from him. I don’t know about how long they will last, though.

Okay, I don’t know why, but started shedding ome tears during that song…. it made me think of my ex love and my family…

You know how in movies they show old footage of “way back when you were young, this is how we were…?” I took it as such, however, this appeared to be a video message for those who had passed. It seemed to be updating them on her life as well as reminiscing on times past-hence Nick Cannon’s appearance. I thought it was very touching and real.
In regards to their marriage-I really like how Black Hollywood is starting to go lo-key with their weddings, especially because the high Hollywood divorce rate is “such a joke,” that it’s not even funny and it is a harmful image to the younger society. So while some may have negative opinions about the media not covering Beyonce and Jay-Z’s nuptuals- I applaud the idea that this couple can keep the most intimate part of themselves-to themselves (as much as possible)! Likewise, with Nick and Mariah, it appears they have attempted to do the same and I applaud them as well. If it is/was a publicity stunt,I don’t know why they would be so secretive and lo-key about it. Interestingly, I recall that Nick has strong Christian values and he has been engaged to Selita (who comes from a Christian island and therefore I assume, has strong Christian beliefs) and now married Mariah, who even sings about her faith. This says to me that they may have much more in common than the media and speculators are assuming. I don’t think it is up to us to judge who is or isn’t a good Christian because none of us on earth is perfect-but my point is-let’s put some positivity in the black community and be happy for each other !!!

I’ve been a long time fan of Mariah and I’ve followed her career every step of the way. The music, interviews, MTV specials with Bill Bellamy, etc. I agree with the other poster that said you have to understand how Mariah is. How she thinks and how she goes about letting you know what she wants you to know. So it is possible for her long time lambs to project a little more into her video than someone that just came across it and checked it out. That doesn’t mean that the projection is 100% accurate. Just that it’s there. Mariah is very intimate with her fans. She is not a secretive blow up doll like another chick we know….

Anyway, the video was cool. I do not get how Nick Cannon got in but he is obviously bringing something to the table that Mariah needs and wants. If they are really married, I hope they stay that way for a long time and take their vows seriously. Love is a beautiful thing and it’s nice to be able to see Mariah and Nick in couple mode. Least they ain’t hiding it!
