YBF Exclusive: The Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Bravo’s hit tv show (one of my faves) The Real Housewives is now hitting Atlanta. Previously they did 3 seasons of The Real Housewives of the OC and just showed the finale of The Real Housewives of New York Season 1. Not one black Housewife was ever featured on any of the 4 seasons total. But now, after rumors of this new season have been going around for a while, it’s official that Bravo is bringing the show to Atlanta. And 4 out of the 5 Housewives are YBF chicks. Sources associated with the show have given YBF some exclusive inside info and pics of the cast. They just wrapped the season last week and a few of the Housewives were spotted at a private party for Ed Hartwell a few nights ago.
Meet The Real Housewives of Atlanta when you read the rest…
The private event was held at Ludacris’ restaurant Straits and some of the Atlanta Housewives hit it up:

Ed and Lisa Hartwell are one of the couples on the show. Lisa is a Housewife, a screenwriter, and film producer. She and her husband Ed also develop Real Estate. He is a former Falcon but now plays for the Oakland Raiders. He is also a major part of the cast.

The Housewife in the very center of the picture is Sheree Whitfield. She is officially one of the housewives. She is the former wife of retired Atlanta Falcons player Bob Whitfield. She is pursuing a career as a clothing designer and used to own a store call Bella Azul.

Nene Leakes is the Housewives cast member on the far left. She and her husband are real estate brokers.
Other confirmed housewives are Deshawn Snow, wife of NBA player Eric Snow who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. And another Housewife named Kim. The show has an early August premiere date after they actually pushed it up because of the demand. Can’t wait!

I hope these sistahs come across as intelligent, loving and caring women and give the NY housewives a run for their money. I only liked 1 housewive, I think her name was Jill. She was the older lady with the brown longer hair.
She was sooo laid back.
All the other ones had sticks up their arses and were boring.
Yayyyy to Bravo for stepping it up!

I know at least 5 black, successful men (married and unmarried), who are netting 7 figures+ without picking up a ball. We are educated as well as talented. I will tune in but I hope these couples are depicted in a positive light.

Lisa is truely YBF material, she is a very intelligent and independent lady that knows how to do business honey! They helped my brother in law and his wife purchase a home! I will get the scoop when me and Lisa do lunch!

On Jun 9, 2008 at 3:17 pm | Reply | QuoteJasmin…I was thinking that exact same thing. They have picked majority wives of athletes from what we can tell so far. That further perpetuates the idea that black ppl are most successful when they play sports or are involved in entertainment. I would like to see more diversity in the professional backgrounds of black ppl to show other means of monetary success and achievement. Also, they picked Atlanta to showcase all black ppl as if black ppl aren’t successful in other states. They could have had black couples in NY too. I don’t understand why Bravo is sticking to the format of all black casts and all white casts
