Fashion Fab: Dior Haute Couture+USA Ballers Show Off Their New Threads

Janet and JD were spotted taking in the Dior Haute Couture show yesterday in Paris for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week:

And for all you fashion freaks, Dior proved why they're one of my fave fashion and Couture houses to watch.  Here's some looks from the runway:

Sigh.  Fabulous is an understatement.

More from the show and other pics when you read the rest...

Loving it all.   And the fabness that is Eva Mendes was there in one of the hautest looks I've ever seen her in:

Loves it.

Kobe, Lebron, D-Wade and Carmelo showed off the new USA Olympic Basketball Team uniforms in the NYC today:

Leave it to Melo to bring the hood swagger.

Good luck to the boys.

Stay fab!

There are several Designers

There are several Designers who happen to be African American who don't emblazen their clothes with enormous logos. Ever heard of Tracy Reece, Edward Wilkerson of Lafayette 148, Kevan Hall, Shaka King, Jeffery Banks, Toni Whittaker, B Michael, Anthony Liggins, Byron Lars, Amsale, etc.??? Media exposure is very important to each of these designers and without it they can not be brought to the masses. The fashion media is no different than the regular media, meaning that black people are not the primary focus and yet we waste our money in droves with fashion houses who don't even advertise to us. I too am guilty of looking because that's about all I'm going to do. I love Dior too, but was Chanel Iman the only model of color on the runway with the exception of a few Asian models?

I love LeBron James. He is the epitomy of all that is sexy about a black man. I saw a piece about him during the playoffs and they showed him at home with his wife and children. He was showing his baby how to walk and I almost melted. Everyone knows (even the hubby) that I love me some him.

That bag Janet is wearing

That bag Janet is wearing sure looks familiar. The handles look just like the Oaxaca and Bombay handles from the Sukari New York bags. Sukari came out with those handles last year! I guess independent designers can get ripped off by the folks in China and Korea as well as the “reputable” fashion houses. Too bad. I believe a ’sista’ came out with the Sukari bags.

Anyone know what kind of purse that is Miss Janet is holding??
I don't know for sure, but my guess would be Dior. Most people wear the label of the fashion show they're attending.
I wanted to respond directly

I wanted to respond directly to the previous quotes, so please excuse the repeat. You need to check out this handbag collection: Sukari New York. They are high end hand bags designed by a young African American and are NOT ghetto or ridiculously smattered with logo and cheap metallics (no dis to Beyonce). They definitely need to get more shine. The bag that Janet is wearing looks suspiciously like Sukari New York…well the handles do anyway. Someone over at Dior probably ripped them off. You know “they” always take their fashion ques from us anyway. Sometimes I think people just like it because of "who" made it not because of how it looks (some of these things look so impractical and these celebs jump in and out of cars, they're not walking up and down all day all around town in those shoes and even they admit, just from standing on the red carpet, their feet are killing them) and that is a big turn off too. When there's an album to promote or a concert she goes on some ridiculously unhealthy diet and over the top workout regime (60 lbs in 5 weeks, come on now) gets on all the magazine covers for her "amazing body" and when the hype dies down, the weight comes back up. Once she stops recording (which I think will be sooner than later) she and Oprah will be rocking the same size.

WOooooow. The shoes are FAB.

WOooooow. The shoes are FAB. I'm loving the evolution of the gladaitor and platform heels. And for a vertically challenged girl like me, the 1" platform makes wearing 5" inch heels not so painful... depending on the arch... anywho, getting too technical! If I had the money I'd buy them I would, but the thing is, these designs are geared towards the lucky ladies who get chauffered around in limo's everywhere they go. Must be nice!!

I was thinking the same thing about Iverson!! After I found out they snubbed AI for the 2008 Olympics I stopped giving a damn. If team USA wins gold...good for them, if they don't oh well..the rest of the world has caught up. But its a shame Iverson isn't on that team, out of everyone on the 2004 team he deserved to be on this 2008 team the most and get another shot at gold. Damn shame, SMH. I guess that what happens when you are dubbed as the NBA's "badboy". Anyway, Iverson can still rest on the fact that he is still sexy and fine as hell. LOL! That man be ballin his @ss off though. -D-Wade looks scrumptious per usual, and dare I say Lebron looks nice as well. And as much as I can't stand Kobe I must say he looks nice in these pics.
