Usher & Baby Usher V Cover Essence

Usher and Usher V are gracing the cover and pages of the August '08 issue of Essence magazine. He's doing his usual and dispelling rumors about firing his mom and about his relationship with Tameka. Yada yada. That baby is mad cute though. Here's some excerpts to wet your whistle: On Fatherhood: “He’s gonna admire me, he’s gonna look up to me. He’s gonna say, ‘I wanna be’ or he should say - ‘I wanna be like my father.” His Marriage: “They think that it was forced. I’ve heard a lot of comments like, “Oh, she trapped him.” “He got a baby by her, and then she’s married and she’s set for life.” “No. She wasn’t pregnant when I asked her to marry me. There’s some sort of huge conspiracy over this, the fact that I made these choices in my life. No I grew older. As a man, I have to take responsibility and take a hold of my life. wee usher is cute...aww! i'm happy for usher-i get the feeling he's enjoying fatherhood. last night i caught an old ass usher video from the poetic justice soundtrack-it's beautiful seeing how his career has evolved-the only reason why people have so much negative to say about him is b/c he had a maga successful run & that's more than a lot of people can say so it's really a mark of the legacy he's built for himself. my boo mj will never be at the apex of greatness he achieved but you can't take away his achievements, songs, and legacy. and the same goes for usher (although i'm in no way making comparisons-i mean there's only one mj, ha ha).

I'm really shocked and a bit

I'm really shocked and a bit sad that so many of you are happy that his baby is NOT mixed. Personally, I'm missing where that's relevant. The baby has no diseases or deformities and that's what should be important. I'm close to tears to this realization that my own child may have to deal with this hatred. I do appreciate honest opinions, but I guess I didn't think people still felt that way ....so I was wrong.

Why is he saying the same thing on every interview since his marriage? That is your choice and you don't have to explain it to anybody. Especially those of us who don't know you. I love Ursher and his baby is cute just like him. I want him and Tameka to be together for a long time. Haters keep talking it makes the marriage stronger. It's shameful when people can't get married and be happy. He spends a lot time trying to get everyone to accept his wife. I never understood why Tameka is treated so rudely (calling her ugly and the woman isn't even ugly) by the public. The problem is, I think, people think because she is older, and divorced with children that she is not good enough for him. Same thing with Britany and Kevin F. (okay it sucked he left Shar while she was pregnant but Britany knew and she still wanted him yet everyone was quick to call him a bum, etc. because he wasn't holding the kind of $$$ she was; Mariah & Nick - as if Nick didn't have anything before he met her). If Usher is happy that is all that matters. I just hope he realizes he doesn't have to spend his life trying to get people to accept his happiness/choice. Enough already with the explaination/same interview topics. And as for him firing his mother...well, perhaps it was time to let her go. He is NOT the first star to fire a parent yet Tameka (I suspect because of the timing) took the hit for that too. Whatever.

Usher should stop explaining his choice of a wife. There is nothing wrong with that sista nor any mistakes/bad choices she has made in life. If God can forgive her, surely we can and live her live a life of peace,love and prosperity with her husband. She is a beautiful sista. We are so programmed to believe that anything browner than a paperbag must be questioned because its impossible for us to be loved..by a rich, good-looking black man. We are sad, silly and sinful. I cannot believe that black women would be so suspicious, belittling,and insecure because a SINGER choses a wife that does not fit YOUR jaded, self-loathing standards. It saddens me to constantly see this brotha explain that he actually loves a black woman, her kids and their child together. He owes you all nothing but quality entertainment..not his life.
