Legal Woes: Lil Scrappy & 50 Cent

Rapper Lil Scrappy ended up in the slammer this weekend. Here's the report: Lil' Scrappy is currently being held without bail at the Dekalb County Jail in Decatur, GA, following a late night altercation that left the young artist stabbed, but in stable condition the other night. While details of his arrest remain sketchy, the 24-year-old rapper, born Darryl Richardson, has been charged with firearm possession during a crime, marijuana possession, battery and obstruction of officers. While a bail amount totaling $1500 has been issued for the misdemeanor battery and obstruction charges, Scrappy remains in custody at this time, as authorities make a bail determination on the felony drug and gun charges. While Scrappy's management did confirm that an incident took place, they would not comment on the situation.

After the judge in 50 Cent's child custody drama case recently ordered both 50 and his baby mama Shaniqua to take drug tests, both of theirs came back negative for ILLEGAL drugs. Shaniqua did have opiates that she said were from cough syrup that showed up on her test. This means that 50 may get more time with his son Marquise like he asked for and he is able to take him on vacation now.

In reply to CG: Say what you want but I have to stick up for the black fathers I know who are trying to do right by their children but are being pushed away by bitter mothers. College-educated, good men, with excellent jobs. If the parents are not and were not married, then yes, he has a right to come and go as he pleases or if they take it there, as the judge sees fit. His loyalty is to the children not her. I have a daughter with my ex-husband and our interaction is strictly for our child and we get along fine.

I'm glad 50 is getting a chance to FINALLY see his son. Shaniqua is looking very bad in my eyesight right now. Keeping a man from his child and then using him as a bargaining tool is so tasteless and childish. Remember that your greed is why you have so little money and no house in the first place (judge lowered her child support when she tried to get more and ordered her out of the home before it "mysteriously" burned down). But, like the saying goes...KARMA IS A BITCH WITH HER PERIOD ON and she's coming for you, Ms. Shaniqua. Trust and believe!

In reply to AK: Your comments seem to overlook the reality that some men don't want to take responsibility for fatherhood, of any ethnic or economic background. They want to come and go as they please and disrespect the mothers that they once laid down with. Most black women are not bitter like you said. To make that statement you are either a non black woman and probably being the 'provider' for some unemployed black man who didn't want to get a job or contribute financially and accept responsibility for his child, beyond the photo op. Quality time and attention, direction guidance, good role modeling, and yes a bit of financial support is all women want - it's not bitterness. If men did it on their own, women wouldn't be going to court. Wake up.

Money can’t replace a father who wants to be in his child’s life. We are so Americanized that we value money over parental guidance.
