Last night Conde Nast's Fashion Rocks! Event aired with a focus on tributes to the legends. And in case you missed the highlight performances:

Rihanna opened the show with a tribute to Madonna and "Vogue".

Justin Timberlake and Beyonce's first ever live duet was a tribute to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell "Aint Nothin' Like The Real Thing". And the Motown tribute was completed with performances from MJB and Kid Rock.

Beyonce also gave a tribute to Etta James with "At Last". Performances from Solange, Chris Brown, MJB, and Mariah Carey when you read the rest...

Solange gave a surprisingly fabulous performance of "I Decided".

Chris Brown saluted Sam Cooke and also slid into a performance of "Forever".

I actually prefer her version of "And I am Telling You" (over Jennifer Holiday's) because of the clarity in her voice, while maintaining the passion of the song. J Huds latest single is watered down to pop but if her album provides the voice that ppl feel in love with, then she'll do okay.

Where was Rihanna's huge fan base when she was marketed as an Island girl with long blonde hair. The only thing that's stayed the same is her minimal vocal ability. Where would her fans be without her recent makeover. It's good for you to be a fan, but to try to make up blatant lies, ie. "her Fashion Rocks performance" getting a bigger response than Beyonce's is plain crazy. The responses on this board is evident in that. The fact that Beyonce's name, along with other stars, headline a majority of the reviews and articles written about Fashion Rocks. Find me one review where it says Rihanna's performance was stellar, or that she brought the house down? Rih was pretty good. Madonna can't sing and neither can Rih so that was a match made in heaven. The performance was hot. I think if they wanted a white boy to sing Marvin they shouldv'e gone with Robin Thicke. Just in my opinion. I don't hate Bey or anything but I love I mean LOVE that song "At last" and I think it takes a special voice to do that song and Bey don't have it. Sorry. Chris Brown was pretty good and Mariah I guess.

Beyonce-I like Beyonce's performance...I agree that it didn't make me the feel the same way as Etta's version, but Beyonce and Etta James are in a completely different playing field (so it's understandable). Think about it, if Etta James performed "Dangerously In Love" it would be a complete mess, so to each his own. She still did good, and I give her props for controlling her voice until the very end when she gave her infamous Beyonce run...If she wouldn't have done it, it would have been a little boring. Rihanna-To be completelty honest...I didn't like Rihanna until I saw this performance. Rihanna has always turned me off with her lack of personality while performing, but last night she actually gave me more that 3 facial expressions! I know she was a little stiff, and was also lipsyching...but she looked so damn cute. JT sounds like someone cut his nuts off. Not cute. And the Pussycat Dolls need to be ashamed of themselves. They look like a bunch of middle aged strippers trying to bring in this months rent. Just Nasty! Nicole (Whatevaherlastnameis)needs to invest in her solo career quick! "When I grow up"! Bitch, you are too old to be singing that song!

I agree with the comments that Rihanna has no stage presence or musical talent. But, I must say she is quite the showgirl. Her look is very much hers - the outfits, the accessories, the hair and she knocks it out of the ball park there. That's why she is famous and that's why she is going to be around for a long time to come. As per Solange, I laughed throughout her performance as well.

I thought Rhianna sounded okay, and I by no means am a fan/stan of hers. I just wished she cld dance because the climax to the song wld have been a hot segway to a dance routine, but oh well. Beyonce was stunning as Ms. James, but I was disappointed with it. Maybe she was nervous, but she rushed through the song. Such a classic. She and Justin did well together. But DAMNIT Justin, no more Marvin tributes for you, you can't pull it off. I had to play the real version to get back in sync. And Mary can do no wrong in my eyes. But next time leave Dirty Rock backstage.

Etta James seemed to enjoy Bee's performance which is the only opinion I need lol. Justin's voice was weak, but they all did their thing. I thought it was more entertaining than the VMA's to tell you the truth. Rihanna was stiff and lip-synching.

I must admit, Duffy did and awesome job with that song. I liked Rihanna's voice to the "Vogue" song but she needs a choreographer to pull that off. Madonna was about performance not singing...but I prefer Rihanna's voice on that song. When ppl say that Beyonce did a bad job on the Etta James song, I think what some of these artists were missing was HUMILITY. For instance, Tyrese did a tribute to Luther on BET some years ago and you could tell the way he performed that he knew he was singing in front of a legend...he did not trash the song with too many runs because he knew that was EXACTLY what the song DID NOT need.

Fashion Rocks was more

Fashion Rocks was more entertaining than the VMA's was this year. As for comments. Rihanna....smh. If people think she didn't lip sync look at her in comparison to those who used handheld mics. There was no breathing in there at all, and her lips were just moving to the track. It's a shame because that is such an easy song to sing. There are no runs in there, just talking and talk singing. When she is talking at the end it also sounds very recorded. Also look at her mic in comparison to when Chris Brown used the same one. You could tell he was actually singing into it,u could hear him breathing into it and he adjusted it too when he sang. To top that off,she barely moved at all. Vogue is that song, she could have danced, but unfortunately the girl has no talent other than being pretty. Terrible. Beyonce...Her rendition of at last was great. She showed that you can command the stage with yourself, and a mic. She added her own flavor to it, and still captured the original essence of the song. For all those complaining about "bootyshaking", she delivered. She SANG that song wonderfully. Etta and the audience were most definitely into it as well. That's TRUE TALENT right there. Can't wait to see the movie. Motown...I loved this segment, JT and Beyonce sounded good together, so did Mary. I was wondering why they couldn't have Usher up there, but JT sounded very good. Chris Brown did good too, though he was KILLING me with those pants. I just don't get it. Solange..she actually sounded good, she has a great stage presence. And her song fit in with the overall show. She was fabulous.

Hi haters I see you all show up to your job bright and early. so rihanna Lip sync a song when the track was not the original version.. make no sense. why would they pay a producer to create a new track pay for studio time to record a new song just for one night for 3 minutes. If she was going to lip sync why wouldn't the just use the Madonna original track. the only person who lip sync was Mariah.

I felt that beyonce was trying to a hit a note that was not hers! beyonce is great vocally, but she didn't nake people feel the actual goose bumps that etta james gives you when you first hear the song! some people are saying that byonce did her bect, but I've heard other people sing it better. there was a jazz singer that perfromed it at the atlanta jazz festival a few years ago, and she gave everyone the chills, she didn't sound like Etta james, but she made that song hers! something Beyonce was not able to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely better than the VMAs! Loved the 'At Last' by Beyonce! She brought it! Also loved the duet with Beyonce and Justin! Mary J was good minus Kid Rock! Rihanna outfit was cute. Still has no stage presence and she wasn't singing live. Mariah was ok. Chris was ok. I liked the PCD performance too.

Rihanna looked great as usual..but that bitch was lip singing who she think she fooling...that bitch was prepared this time...made sure she knew the words..and mouthed them perfectly...kuddos to the excellent lip singing My girl Beyonce'...BAD BITCH!! she did a great job all night....beautiful tribute to etta james...and the wig was nice too...both of them..:-D Justin did well too... Chris Brown did a good job as well... Fergie...she looked good and sounded good Black Eyed Peas...LOVE the performance...really entertaining Solo....she looked good and sounded good... Mariah..lol..she sounded nice I just hope that rihanna was taking notes....
