Beyonce & Co. Promote The Vote+50 Cent Is A Do Gooder

Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary J., and Kevin Liles all hit the Philly Promote The Vote block party yesterday: Looks like B is getting her practice holding and kissing babies at a political rally.  We have heard her hubby Shawn Carter is looking to run for Mayor of NYC in the near future.  Hmmm.... Diddy hit the stage to promote the vote. And so did Mary J. More pics of these folks and 50 Cent's new Do Gooder project when you read the rest... Nice. 50 Cent teamed up with Bette Midler for his new service project yesterday: The two joined forces Monday to celebrate the opening of "The Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson Community Garden" in Queens, New York.  Nice.

Food for thought: Jay Z and

Food for thought: Jay Z and Beyonce seem to subscribe to the put it out there and try to make it stick method of doing things (also known as attempted manipulation) however, I wonder if their egos are allowing them rational thought: 1. It is one thing to run for public office and have a past that includes TAKING drugs and tampering with your own personal health. It is another thing entirely to run for public office and have a past that includes DEALING drugs that unarguably endanger and end the lives of countless people, including children, AND be married to someone who "winds and grinds and pops her blankety-blank in people's faces on an alarmingly frequent basis" and has the poor taste to canvas for an iconic title rather than simply earn it and let it come to her if and when it is meant to be. The salient point here: choose the behavior, choose the consequences. 2. The lack of both education and eloquence on both their parts is glaringly apparent. Certainly, I would never advocate to hold anyone back, but there are some things that are required in order maintain a standard and set an example. Either you make the grade or you don't. 3. Politicians are not elected by popularity votes or even through the voting process. Politicians are chosen and their lives dictated by TPTB (google Zeitgeist: The Movie). I have learned a lot about how the world really operates and my eyes have been opened far more than they were when I was in university - however, I did go to university, earned my degrees, and as such, paid my dues. I guess that is why I am so adamant about standards and question what I believe needs to be questioned.

I love how people say Beyonce

I love how people say Beyonce doesnt dress like a stripper when she is not performing........Well I hate to tell you, Beyonce is dressed like a stripper while she is not performing. Everytime she leaves the house she has on 10 inch stripper heels with tight ass jeans on, who wears this to a voting Rally? Also, The girdle she is wearing makes her look puffy in the mid area

She was bootylicious, but she be putting on some padding like i stuff my bra (ha). The dirty racist undertones, and all of the rumours that they tried to smear his campaign with? Thank god his past was as clean as a board because if it weren't..trust me this election would not be what it is today okay people? Just because Jay is a major celebrity in hip-hop and is business savvy does not qualify him for public office? Did any of you think of this? He was a past drug dealer and has a record (the stabbing of Lance UnRivera) and his musical lyrics, do you know the extent of damage his opposing candidate can have on him? Do you really think that mainstream America much less NYC would put someone like that in office to represent the City of New York? Let's be real here, popularity is something but common sense is a whole nother ball game..This is not a joke..someone needs to shift his priorities to another field, he can be a community organizer, someone rallying for a good cause..cuz Mayor aint it at all.

to Sizta Act: I am not saying anything about Jay's past as a drug dealer or whatever, but he has no experience in the political arena. When you deal with politics and legislation it is a completely different ball game. that is why alot of policticans have law degrees so they can easily work thru the system. I understand there are plenty of actors who became politicians ie Clint Eastwood, Ronald Regan and others, but just because someone is popular does not mean that they have the insight to run a city or a country., such as Ronald Regan. we need to stop electing people based on popularity and based on what real change they can bring about. that is what i mean about a wasted vote. Jay Z needs to start from the bottom up, like maybe run for city council and prove that he can make change within a certain district. and please make sure he gets some kinda degree like college so he can be able to articulate correctly. just because he can rhymne does not make him a genius.
I sooo agree! Jay will not ever get my vote for anything like that. Please! Stick to rapping, signing artists, champagne, and opening clubs.
Exactly....he wants to start try running for Borough President or something and then build up but just to become mayor because he is popular hell nah!! Shoot his ass couldn't even handle the damn VP position what says mayor
I'm just sayin...work behind the scenes and what not. At least Bloomberg rides the train to work. I can't see Jay doin that. And I hate to say this, *Jay stans be easy* but a lot of them time, when blacks get these positions, they forget about their own. They're so busy wanting to be accepted that they play their own. Like, I have a big problem / Jay. What has he done for Marcy accept talk about it and bring turkeys and Christmas toys. Where were you and sooo many other Brooklynites when Empire skating rink, a place where you would find people in they 70s-4yr olds skating? I'm just sayin, your voice is so powerful Jay, and I'm not asking for you to come out of your pocket, but DAMN, you could've held a fundraiser or something. people will donate just cuz your name is on it. C'mon......
Preach Whoa!! Or giving back by just having his presence in the community for something like summer nights at Wingate....he never performed on that stage..yet this summer you had someone like John Legend not only perform but donate funds to helping Brooklyn schools....

Jay Z please go sit down.
Now why can't a brother shoot for the stars? We teach our children to be all they can be then tell them but you can't be a leader. Don't make no sense. He sure as hell can't do a worse job than past mayors. Everytime a brother tries to rise there is someone trying to bring him down.
Exactly. Bunch of hypocrites AND haters. If it is true, congrats Jigga on takin it to a whole new level...
Oh please! If Jay Z ran for Mayor in you city would you vote for him? I think not and if you would you need your head examined. What the hell has Jay Z done to even think of running for Mayor. He was president of a record label and he did nothing for it.He discovered Rihanna but the only reason she popular now is because of her wanting to change her own image. Jay Z walks around like he is this big businessman and he is not. I would vote for Diddy or even 50 cent for Mayor over Jay Z.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- I may considerin voting for Diddy.... AT LEAST he went to college.... more than we can say about Jay!!!
Once again in Arnold Schwartzeneggar and Sonny Bono can run for an elected office, I see more power to Shawn Carter!
