AFTERNOON SWEXY: Keyshia Cole & Chrihanna Performances

Keyshia Cole hit the BET and Verizon Present Keyshia Cole stage yesterday to pub her newly released album: And it looks like somebody's stepped up their sex appeal.  Loves it.  The bad burlesque girl look def works for her.  So well people may even overlook her nonexistent dance skills.  Sidenote: Was Fierce Kitty Frankie SERIOUS about that Goldilocks wig she was rocking on the "Keyshia Cole" reality show last night? Chris Brown and Rihanna took it to the stage yet again giving us a likely peek into their bedroom behavior: Hot.  Not sure what they could have possibly been singing about being this up close and extra personal at every gig  lately.  But they can't even hide their affection anymore.  And I need Rih Rih to tuck those chi chis back in.  These tweeny bop boys would lose their damn minds if a wardrobe malfunction went down.  Eh eh eh eh... More pics of these folks when you read the rest... Get it Key Key. And more pics of Rihanna: Loving those pants.

Wow! Thanks for the synopsis.

Wow! Thanks for the synopsis. I must say that I relly enjoyed the book. After reading your comment, I want to reread it. . Honestly, I can say that the most touching part was that with the "hood chick with the baby." I really liked her. Of course I liked the young lady named Sudana, too. I really felt torn while reading this book. I became more interested in the Muslim culture, but I was kinda saddened by the fact that if I or someone wanted to follow that religion, they'd never fully understand it of be accepted into it. Also, I felt that it was kind of a slap in the face of some black men and hell black families as a whole. The truth is that we don;t know our history and it is kinda depressing. To say that if you don;t know your father, grandfather, great-great grand, you are eternally lost was kind of harsh. I mean really, how many of us know our great great greats? and even if we know their names, do we know what they did? What they stood for? I know her point was to get our black men to see that the "buck stops here," but that statement could isolate some people. Do you know what I mean. I would like to tell more of my views and hear some of yours. Hope theres no new post yet!!
Well it was harsh in that area. The truth of the matter is any descendents of that slave trade are already lost. We cannot go back or do anything about our past. But we can help our future. Sometimes being harsh gets the wheels turning. I know the statements in the beginning made me cry a lot because I can't help the fact that I don't know my history. However, it's also (even tho I already know) refreshing that he mentions the greatness of Africa, not the ish you see on the "Feed the Children" network. Many of us have a negative view of africa and that's because of lack of education adn storytelling. When I visit my grandparents, at 29 yrs old, I still love to sit down, especially w/ my grandpa, and here him tell me about my great grandfather they called "Tata" that came to Jamaica not as a slave, but a free man an actual African prince(yeeeaaa I'm royalty) who was wealthy and always wore a robe(like the Muslims wear). He never wore pants up until the day he died. I think we just have to work on rebuilding ourselves first and then each other one at a time.

This book is so complete. I think we should have a "Midnight" book club discussion on YBF. Schedule a date and time and just dissect the entire book. My girlfriends and I have a book club and we try to get together every other month and have drunken book club discussions. Girl we have the best times. Our last get together was held during happy hour at Shout in Atlanta, with about 12 YBF's in attendance. Honay, our discussion got so heated (in a good way), a waiter came over and told us we were too loud. Of course I asked for the manager and said to him "how could you ask us to be quiet at a place called Shout". He laughed, then apologized and said carry on ladies. So what do ya think?
Wow, really??? Oh I would've loved to had been there!!! *wiggles in seat* Tell me at what point did the discussion get heated and why.
I could not read "Midnight", it pales in comparison to "the Coldest Winter"....
Well it just wasn't for you. But I don't understand how anyone can be so hooked on Winter's ghetto azz. Oh well.
It's not that it had to be about Winter, but the book went in a totally different direction (with the asian chick). I wasn't feeling it so I sold mine on Amazon marketplace. A lot of my friends who loved TCWE did not finish or did not like "Midnight" but hey everyone has different tastes...
I hear ya. However, there's a reason for all of that and if you don't read between the lines, you, like MANY females will be stuck on the fact that he wasn't w/ a sista. I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda pissed but I understood the msg that Souljah was conveying. So I was able to look past that and get the msg. Yea it hurt a bit and I wouldn't have minded him at least being w/ Sudana, but it was an excellent read and she gets my 2 thumbs up and 5 stars anyday from me.
I read Midnight too. I did really like the book and I could not put it down, but what was the real message that was tryin to be conveyed?
Oh my gosh there are so many. First of all revering the One True GOD. Day in and day out. We don't do this. We dont get on our knees even to pray like we used too, morning and night. Black men being fathers in their child(s) life. Being the Supporter and Protector of his family. Black women being the nurterer and comforter to her man and children. Being highly respected. Repsecting your body. Learning to be discreet. Sons HONOR your mother!!! How much slackness do you see going on today w/ men towards their mothers and then we wonder why they are terrible men. And I'm not talking about momma's boys. There was a time when a man's mother was the center of his universe. Not anymore. Watching the foods we eat, excercise, take time to smell the roses. Thank God for the beauty he has right before us. Know YA HISTORY!!! The only history we know is the one that began in chains. READ A DAMN BOOK!! I don't read hood lit., and I don't consider Sista Souljah's books hood lit. I am now picking up "The Art of War" since it was mentioned not only in this story, but TCWE as well and other books I've read. STAYING TRUE TO YOURSELF!!! NEVER BOWING DOWN. NEVER FORGETTING WHERE YOU CAME FROM. Girl I can go on and on. This book is the truth.
My sister said the same thing after she read the book. She thought they were being kind of harsh on Black Americans. Maybe, but mostly what she said was true and the truth hurts. If women respected themselves like how the book was saying and men acted the way they were supposed to, everyone would know their history. Women wouldn't be laying down with any and everybody and men would be taking care of their own. Plus with all the resources that are out today, anyone can research their history. It might take time or might be costly but is it not worth it?

Kay and the rest of yall who

Kay and the rest of yall who keep responding to this character....WHY??? I don't even think the person in the pic is saying these things. Probably stole the pic or using a friends pic who doesn't even know. Any yall falling for it. If someone clearly comes in here starting mess, not even having an educated argument, but STRAIGHT starting mess, why respond to it? Obviously they are ATTENTION SEEKERS and they can only go on if people feed into their negativity. Yall disappoint me by even responding. Leave that alone. We don't know what/who that is. Trust, they'll get real tired of talking to themselves if no one repsonds to them. Quit it already.
