Rihanna's Purple Paris Reign+Chris Rock & Solange Do "Oprah"

Rihanna is in Paris for the Fashion Week shows. She popped up on the Front Row of the Gareth Pugh show tonight rocking this sheer paneled Gareth Pugh dress:

Complete with purple vampy gloss and nude boyshorts. You feelin' it?

And by the way, we're still not buying this. In other news, Solange and Chris Rock were on "The Oprah Show" today pubbing Chris' new movie Good Hair: Solange talked about why she shaved her head and being a slave to the black women's hair culture. Here's her segment and an outtake that wasn't shown on tv.

KELLEGEEZ: ONE MORE

KELLEGEEZ: ONE MORE THING….I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST SOLANGE WEARING MAKE-UP,ETC. THAT IS NOT THE ARGUMENT. THE THING IS PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE PRIDE IN HOW THEY LOOK NOT SO MUCH IF THEIR HAIR APPEARS TO BE REAL OR FAKE. A FEMALE WITH A FULL HEAD OF WEAVE CAN FEEL JUST A MUCH LIBERATED AS YOU DO WITH YOUR ONE TRACK. IT’S NOT ANY ARGUMENT. IT’S CHOICE. YOU CAN HAVE ALL YOUR HAIR FROM THE ROOT AND NO WEAVE AND BE A LYING, CHEATING, STEALING BITCH FROM AROUND THE WAY. I HAVE CLIENTS THAT LIKE GIVING THEIR OWN LONG THICK HAIR A BREAK AND GET WEAVES. SO IT’S JUST A MATTER OF CHOICE. Girl calm down, I know that. I am not siding with Solange at all. I'm only saying that I can see why it's liberating but I've worn weaves and wigs for many years and this is the first time I let my hair out, and to tell you the truth the weaves did make my hair grow--it does when it's sewn in right. This was only a sidebar. I mentioned that because I've been through many different styles. I definitely believe that women who wear weaves shouldn't be degraded, it's simply their choice. Many women resort to wigs and weaves because they don't know how to take care of their hair. So I totally agree with you...that's what I've been saying all along...

Rihanna has lost her class. I

Rihanna has lost her class. I used to love her and buy all her albums when she first came out. But now i think shes simply lost. I don't get why she thinks its necessary to flaunt every inch of her skin. She's not classy at all anymore and shes losing her respect. I think shes just lost, and def searching for someway to fill her emptiness and be happy. But i bet you when shes home(or in some hotel) alone, shes crying herself to sleep. She needs Jesus thats what she needs haha seriouslyy tho!!

OMYGOSH: I think everybody

OMYGOSH: I think everybody is taking the word SLAVE to hair way too literal, I think that Oprah was just using that as term, not really meaning like you are a super slave. Anyway I don’t like seeing anybody with weave, but if you are going to get it done please get it done right, and please stop putting so much oil or product in the hair as it’s not your hair, it shines naturally when you buy it. I keep my hair in a big afro all natural FUCK WEAVES some black women are insecure about their hair because they think our black men prefer long straight hair, when I know a handful of black men who hate it. White women are insecure about their bodies, hence why they get butt and boobs, and lip jobs OH and they tan themselves to death trying to be darker. Seems to me both types of women are unhappy with the way they look, women need to embrace what they have and fuck what anybody else thinks, if GOD didn’t give it to u in the first place don’t temper with it! Oh lord - once again the woman with the BIG AFRO passing judgements on women that wear weaves. So typical. Why the fuck do you have issue with it. I personally don't like and would NEVER wear a big afro in public but do you hear me coming down on you for it - NO!!! WTF is up with your attitude. Damn - do you have mean mug (face) to fit that attitude. Let me guess, when a women with a weave passes you by - do you roll your eyes, whisper to someone that that person thinks they're all that and they're not. you sure sound like you do. Are we hurting you - must be because you have a really aggressive opinion. Me - I don't give a fuck about women who wear natural hair and that's why i don't have opinion about yall either way. If you were to dye your orange and wear long locks - I STILL would not give a fuck. You need to have the same attitude. Judgemental people are ugly people - BOTTOM LINE!!!!

Totally agree w/ er thang

Totally agree w/ er thang Solange said. I think we as BW to become a slave to our hair in many ways. I have been natural before for 2 years and it was alot of work but I loved not having the chemical's in my head and it was so much healthier! i could comb thru my whole head with only like hairs shedding. I plan on goin au natural again one day! I didnt like the pic Sol posted at first on her twitter page and it didnt look becoming to her. Now I like her look and she has the face for it! She stands out more now with her hair like that. I wonder is she will pass this new look on her sis Bey, she could use the same mental makeover. Ri Ri looks fab, risque look my girl is so daring she has a great body and she can pull it off!

Dag Riri that dress is scandalous! And I'm loving the whole "Good Hair" movement. The only reason a lot of black women have trouble maintaining long, healthy hair is because they are over styling and over processing it.....Let's go back to the basics!

I love how black women here

I love how black women here are justifying their hair chioices by pointing out that white women do it too. LMAO. What's good for the goose ain't necessarily good for the gander. Plus, there is one simple truth: White women wear weaves that resemble the hair they were born with. Black women wear weaves that resemble the hair white women (and asian, some latin) were born with. A women with west African features and a bone straight weave? yeah, ok. It could be called a simple hair choice if there wasn't so much wrapped up in it. Around the world, women of African descent who don't wear weaves and chemicles to straighten are the vast minority. That speaks to more than just a style choice. It's not about wanting to look beautiful, it's about what is considered beautiful. If you perm your childs hair at age 8, then you are clearly showing what you think beauty is. Also, maintenance my ass...if you didn't think smooth, flat and "silky" was the only way to look good, the maintenance of your natural hair wouldn't be so difficult. Plain and simple, MOST black women don't think that kinky hair, short hair, super tight curly hair, etc. is pretty and that is a matter of how you have been socialized.

yay!: Just speaking from my

yay!: Just speaking from my own experience–I would feel embarrassed having something long and fake on my head. If you’ve worn weaves for awhile or are accustomed to it, then this would make no sense. But I understand what the poster is saying, it would just feel unnatural to me because I would feel like Im wearing a toupe or something. I agree with you. No dis to those that rock fake hair, but for me it would just feel fake and I wouldn't know what to do when my man wanted to play in it and run his fingers through it (he's always messing with my hair and massaging my scalp). To each his own but it seems that people get angry when you DON'T wear fake hair...you almost have to defend being natural or rocking your god-given hair. Folks somehow feel offended if you say you don't wear a waeave! Sheesh!

camilla: I know both sides

camilla: I know both sides of it…of course if you have a long weave it’s going to take some time in the morning, but it’s a bit more manageable and doesn’t turn into an afro when it rains…lol.I’ve also have had short weaves, which is very low maintenance, just brush and go.Right now my hair is at my shoulders, relaxed with one track of weave, and it is liberating to have most of your hair out, but it takes as much time or even more than having a weave…you have to wash it more often at the salon, get treatments but it is worth it.It does require more time and energy than a short weave though…I don’t think that everyone should make a whole spectacle out of it.As someone mentioned before, if we are making this argument, then Solange should take those fake eyelashes out and stop with the cake-up on her face. One thing I will agree with is that young girls should not be relaxing their hair, they are too young.I’m all for a texturizer though… ONE MORE THING....I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST SOLANGE WEARING MAKE-UP,ETC. FIRST I AM A PROFESSIONAL LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST AND I HAVE SEEN A LOT WHEN IT COMES TO WEAVES AND HAIR FROM THE ROOT. YOU ARE ONLY SPECULATING WHAT "YOU" GO THROUGH. I KNOW PLENTY OF WOMEN WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A SHORT WEAVE OR SHORT HAIR THAT IS THERE OWN HAIR. SECONDLY 100% HUMAN HAIR CAN MOST DEFINITELY PUFF UP IF THAT PERSON IS CAUGHT IN THE RAIN. SECONDLY A TEXTURIZER IS THE SAME EXACT THING AS A RELAXER. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE ACTION OF A TEXTURIZER MAY WORK SLOWER BUT IF YOU LEAVE IT IN THE HAIR LONG ENOUGH IT WILL SURELY GO BONE STRAIGHT! LIKE I SAID OPRAH SHOULD HAVE HAD EXPERTS ABOUT HAIR ON HER SHOW BECAUSE YOU AND LIKE MANY OTHERS ARE TOTALLY MISINFORMED AND ARE IGNORANT OF WHAT HAIR IS ABOUT. YOU CAN ONLY DISPLAY YOUR OWN VERSION. MOST PEOPLE ARE EVEN MISINFORMED ABOUT RELAXERS. PEOPLE DO THEM WAAAAAY TOO MUCH.

Devon: HAAAA!!! You didn’t

Devon: HAAAA!!! You didn’t have to do streetwalker like that! Meanie!Ummm I get the point of Oprah’s show today, but it would have been better if she had REAL women to guest star on it that has actually always been natura. Like India Arie! Whatever though….Solange will put a wig back on her head in a minute. funny funny… Hmm...I thought Solange was a good enough candidate to talk about the subject. She said a lot things that many Black women feel. Indie Arie would have also been a candidate as well. I would have loved to hear Indie Arie finally voice her issues about hair because a lot of her songs are about loving self, and I'm quite sure a lot of it has to deal with what she has gone through. So what if Solange put a wig back on her head. The whole point of her "getting over it" is realizing that hair doesn't mean anything. Hair does NOT set a status in the Black community, although many people try to play up to that false ish. Natural hair does not mean you are proud to be Black and straight hair does not mean you want to be White, sorry. All that is important is realizing that in the end it's all about what makes you happy.

Rihanna looks like an expensive escort that you can only get for a grand an hour. I'm so not impressed with her anymore. The goth hooker look isawful. It was fun at first, but now it's just dreadful! I think my aunt had an outfit like that in the eary ninties(back when she was fine). I think rihanna got a beautiful body, but I feel like she's walking around with lingere. On the whole weave issue, it seems that there are two types of weave wears. The ones who got jacked up hair underneath, and the ones who got well taken care of hair underneath. The ones with the jacked u hair just don't know what to do with their hair and would rather hide it under a weave, yOu got women who have healthy hair but just like changing up styles and doing something different. I have natural hair, but I do get a sew in once a year.

I saw the Oprah show last

I saw the Oprah show last night and it was great. I had already know about the white girls and the weave. I can spot when white girls have weave/extentions in their hair. I also knew that alot of them dye/highlight their hair alot. Nothing in the Doc is revealing to me but still want to see it. Oprah did a good job of showing both sides until chicken foot Tyra who likes to show only the black girls.

Rhianna definitely tries too

Rhianna definitely tries too hard, she is so attention crazy is ridiculous. She wears revealing clothes as much as possible, dressing classy would get her the same attention. She is a star so the skimpy clothes just aren't necessary. I'm tired of seeing her and I'm sure others feel the same way, is she trying to show her ex what he's missing. If so she can do it in a more sophisticated way. Solange looks very nice, softer and prettier with her hair short. She is very brave to cut her hair so short knowing all the criticism that would come her way, she exudes classiness.

camilla: My point

camilla: My point exactly…sometimes wearing your hair in the natural state requires 2x more maintenance than slapping a wig on or getting a weave put in.So according to Solange spending so much time your hair makes you a slave to it.There is not necessarily a correlation with wearing your hair natural and less time to maintain it.It only works for her and for those who cut their hair that low. ARE YOU TWO REALLY SERIOUS??? YOU ARE SO IGNORANT TO THE FACET THAT HELL YES YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN A WEAVE JUST AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD YOUR REAL HAIR. bryant aka trey songz

bryant aka trey songz bottom lip: Not sure if I like the message that’s being sent out here. While I understand they’re trying to promote a sense of black pride, I think they are isolating women who did not maintain their “weave” or “long hair” due to some form of assimilation or low self-esteem.I, for one, have had long NATURAL hair to my chest for as long as I can remember.Naturally, it is curly and sometimes I wear it natural and other times I straighten with a b/d and flat iron.It isn’t because I want to “assimilate” or do not love myself or whatever else they want to try and project on all black females, it simply is because when it’s straight it is easier for me to style it differently.Versus when it’s curly, it’s either going to be all out or in a curl fro-hawk.For those that allow themselves to be held “in bondage” by their hair, that’s not a “black” issue. That right there is a VAIN issue. And believe me, it’s not something that is custom of black women. There are many VAIN white women who don’t like to do things because of their hair/make-up/clothes getting messed up and so forth.I am so sick of people overgeneralizing black women and black culture. You say you want to be “accepted” into the majority but go out of your way to present negative issues mind you, that you assume speak for an entire culture. GIRL I THINK YOU ARE JUST ABOUT THE ONLY SANE PERSON SPEAKING ON THIS SUBJECT. YOU SAID IT IN A NUTSHELL. PEOPLE ARE TOTALLY OVER ANALYZING THE WHOLE SUBJECT AND DEFINITELY OVER GENERALIZING BLACK WOMEN BEING A "SLAVE" TO THERE HAIR. THIS WHOLE THIS CHRIS ROCK IS DOING IS INTERESTING BUT IT'S BULL$HIT. ALSO I WANT THEM TO STOP SAYING "PERMS". PERMS MAKE YOU HAIR CURLY. "RELAXERS" MAKE YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT. OPRAH SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT SOME REAL EXPERTS ON THE SHOW TO TALK ABOUT HAIR BECAUSE CHRIS ROCK IS TURNING THIS INTO SOMETHING EXTREMELY VAIN AND WE ARE MISINFORMED AS WELL.

When children are young they don’t understand a lot about hair and style so its up to their parents to teach them. I wear a relaxer in my hair an there is no way I’m cutting all of my hair off because my daughter wants hair like a little white girl in her class, but what I will do is always tell my daughter that she is extra beautiful just the way God made her, and when she’s older she can wear her hair how ever she likes. That first pic is just wrong!!! Rihanna looks like she needs to be on someones corner or waiting in her hotel room for her next victim. There is nothing respectful about what she has on and she knows it. I said it, Amber Rose is going to have this no talented girl naked and look what she does.. Amber Rose, is killing the game and she cant take it. Rihanna has reached a new low... Solange keep doing what you're doing and Chris Rock it is what it is. There is nothing wrong with weave, either you wear it or you dont, but with some dont knock it until you try it... I tried did not like so I'm dealing with my own and I'm happy.. Again! if Rihanna had an mustard seed of talent she would not have had to do this. She had to go overseas to do it also, all the time she was here in New York during fashion week she showed up one time looking like a Amber Rose reject and she went no more, scared. Goes overseas and looses all respect for her self...Y'all call this fashion!! If poor Cassie or Ciara even Amber y'all would've called them whores, but Rihanna, fashionista, get real...She never reps her mum for nothing and I wonder why?

bryant aka trey songz bottom lip: What does that entail?I do not wear weave, so I meant more or less for myself and perhaps this is just what I imagined (could be wrong). But personally, I have long curly hair.It curls in corkscrew spirals that stops around my shoulders. In order for me to get it straight, I have to and flat iron for 3.5 HRS.When I wear it curly, I have to make sure to hydrate it and moisturize it b/c curly hair often looks dry (even when its not). Now with weave, I guess I imagine the majority of my maintenance would be performed by the stylist & not so much myself. When you have a curly weave, there isn’t exactly much to do if you wrap it at night. And the same if you plan on exercising with your weave right? That’s why I said laziness. You don’t exactly have to style it all the time like you would with natural hair that is more susceptible to weather & such.(My hair hates so in the summer it’s always curly b/c when I walk out the house w/ it straight, it’s like POOF.) My point exactly...sometimes wearing your hair in the natural state requires 2x more maintenance than slapping a wig on or getting a weave put in. Annabele: If you are going

Annabele: If you are going to be natural then go all the way, don’t wear fake yelashes and then say that you are natural, you are only replacing one fake thing with another.lol. Why all of a sudden black women talking about going natural and if you don’t then ur fake. I don’t see any white women advocating other white women to stop coloring their hair. Black women need to get it together and stop telling the world our hair secrets and beauty secrets and all this about us wearing weave, relaxers etc. I don’t see any white men exposing their women’s beauty secrets, but no black men always run their mouths.lol Thank You! Why the hell are they exposing our secrets about hair to the world--that's an issue that we have to deal with. Like when Tyra came on Larry King and asked him to run his fingers through her hair, I was like GTFOH--what the hell is she doing?? There's nothing wrong with leading by example, but don't make sweeping generalizations that if you wear a weave you are a slave. White women are always curious about our hair by asking questions and wanting to touch it and we get offended. In addition, there are some women who wear wigs and weaves because it's convenient. Black hair requires a lot of maintenance especially in its natural state and so according to Solange you could be a slave to your natural hair because it's time consuming. Not everyone who decides to wear their hair natural is going to cut it short like Solange...

There is a fine line between

There is a fine line between classy and trashy and that ish Rihanna has on is not the right thing to wear to an event. All the damn clothes she has and she puts this ish on to go out in public, to me it's not very lady like to be advertising you goods like that all out in the street. Stupid move.

So this woman is nearly

So this woman is nearly showing her entire body in this yet it is daring..let another star have worn the same exact breast and middrift revealing top they would have been called all types of names in the book. A woman can barely show her legs on stage without getting ridiculed. Tooooo backwards. She doesn't look good here. You should def leave things to the imagination. There's a difference in looking edgy and sexy without looking lik you're trying too hard and a borderline street walker. As for the hair movie, I appreciate that Chris Rock came out with this and I will be checking it out.

Stacey:

Stacey: CO-SIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank u Anna!!!! So sick of this black woman being a slave to hair but i am going to wear fake eyelashes, cake on foundation to the point where my face looks gray and spend thousands of dollars in wardrobe to compete with other females. Cut the BULLSHIT!!!!!! Of course the Knowles, who both girls intellectually are known to be dumber than a bucket of chicken (beyonce smiles and gives a dumb ass giggle if you ask her ANYTHING oustide of music and movies) would try to attempt to make such a half ass attempt at an argument. I am going to love it when Solo decides to put a weave back in next year!! Solange - shut your country ass the F*CK UP!!!!!! LMBO!! Not dumber than a bucket of chicken though!?? llol
