Everything always has to be about race with us. We want to blame it on White people, but its us who make everything a race issue. @ Another Nobody I def agree with your last post. Black is supposed to be so beautiful yet we have come up with so many different ways to describe ourselves as other than Black. There is an jumbo sized elephant in the room that Black people are tiptoeing around because we don't want to believe or admit that in this day and age we can still be made to feel inferior. That is the deepest, darkest secret of Black people that even though we pay lip service to all the right catch phrases like 'Black is beautiful' and all its variations, many of us still wish for lighter skin, longer 'good hair', different colored eyes and so on and we think this makes us weak not understanding that we are merely succumbing to past and ongoing social programming that the rest of the world also falls prey to. Asian women with hair relaxers, Spanish women with their hair dyed blonde, contacts sold everywhere to change our eyes. Admitting you have a problem and need help is the first step towards recovery and Black people WE NEED HELP. As for Halle, I'm all for love where it's found so I don't think her relationship requires justification but as for why she especially gets a pass for her interracial relationship is 1. She herself is biracial so she IS NOT in an interracial relationship. She's dating someone who looks like one of her parents and 2. We ALL know how hard Halle tried to give Black men a chance. Wesley slapped her and made her partially deaf in one ear and Eric Benet and David Justice cheated on her. And these are just the ones we know about. Yeah, she gets a major pass.

Please let me be

Please let me be clear....there is absolutely nothing wrong with finding Nahla adorable, gorgeous, beautiful, etc. because honestly she is a cutie pie, BUT I would like to see this zeal and joyful expressiveness when ALL of our black/biracial children are posted. We cannot pretent that when the brown ones are posted there are extreme comments about their features, hair length, texture. I have no issues with my color or any black/biracial person's color but I do have a problem with blatant color favoritism then us pretending we have no clue what we are talking about when its brought up.

I mean she is a child and sometimes you just don't want to put up the fight when they just wanna run, but if she was to get it done, it will only enhance what she has..her facial features...wow...her cheekbones alone are to die for...and those piercing eyes she has...people really need to look at this little girl without hate for her mom, or the fact that her mom is white and whatnot...cuz if you just focus on her, you will see how darling she is and that she could possibly be a model when she gets older...I put money on it....btw.. When I stated "regular" black

When I stated "regular" black I mean with 2 self-idenitified black parents and not obviously mixed looking. Please don't trying to nickel and dime my comments to get away from the real self-hate issue here. Secondly, Terry Crews wife is a self-identified black woman who is mixed, but considers herself black. If you watched their show you will see she has a black mother. Furthermore, Terry and Rebecca produced "regular" black children together so that is why they were used as the example. I guarantee you if in one week when this all blows over and Natasha posts pictures of a celebrity with brown-skin black children with no exotic features and/or short hair the comments are going to be very different or minimal at best.

If People don't believe that

If People don't believe that others comment more favorably towards light skin it actually is true why don't you take a poll. I have three kids, two girls, 15 months apart both with curly hair one is light one is dark and both are between my husband and I. My duaghters are sisters who look exactly alike some even think they are twins but to the black folks who look closely they see that my girls are not twins and that one is light and the other dark. As a mother it hurts when lots of people mainly black folk say to me "she is cute" and points to the light one. Now don't get it wrong my dark skinned daughter is cute to people when she is just spending time with me or her dad alone but as soon as my lil light one comes into the pic people are like "oh thats your daughter......she is beutiful". As far as posting the same comment over and over again just to "tip the scales" is not reality because no one can ignore the difference in commenting when its a light skinned curly haired person vs. a dark skinned one. Thats like saying all the weaves and perms black women get have nothing to do with self hate. I guess some don't understand that the way blacks think stems from their history and our culture (black culture)which was derived from slave culture and culture is the way a particular person thinks, views certain things and the practices that they are accustomed to which was taught to us by whites and we took their ideas and ran on it. You know back in slave times there were several blacks that even in their own palpable oppression believed that "niggas were messing it up for them" and that the white massa loved and cared about them. So it doesn't surprise that we have black folk who don't understand or see where these bias attitudes and veiws come from concerning the "darker one".

Just imagine Halle mom is white and she (Halle) has always dated black men, so she always considered herself to be black, it didnt work out with them, so she found love with a white man ( her moms color), before you haters say that you are glad for her, can anyone help who they love! I think there are two issues

I think there are two issues here; lets take em one at a time... First... apparently we as a bloging community that we are not as excited and happy when we see chocolatey babies... FALSE. Most of the sentiments expressed here were over the LOVE shown, the happiness expressed in their intimate family moments. The CUTENESS of the entire family. Most of our other little YBF chocolate drops are seen posing at a party or an event looking stiff or stuck up or just plain.. well.. POSED. Which brings me to my second point... This was a very intimate moment for this family and the photographers were definetly intruding. Its beautiful to see, but frankly none of our business. OOH and while Im at it... Zahara is African and her hair is nothing like Nahla's.. nice try though. Finally... all this "self hate" mumbo jumbo is garbage. As a Mixed woman who identifies as black, yall black power fist pumping soul sistas give me more shade than anybody else! I just wanna be black and yall act like Im not black enough so who hates who?? HMMmm?

Another nobody... your comments spoke VOLUMES of what I was talking about. Thank you for the example. Furthermore, talk to the sistas that you come into contact with, because not every black woman is running around giving "shade" to lighter skin sistas and not all lighter skin sistas are going on blogs to state that all the brown-skin children posted look stiff and plain compared to their mixed race children. WOW.

First I absolutely love me

First I absolutely love me some Halle and I think she has a beautiful family. Now my question is this why is that on these blogs I constantly see hate being spewed when a man of color is with a woman of another persuasion, but now it's a beautiful thang, is it b/c Halle's mixed so it's ok for her to go either way? I for one could care less who's with who as long as people are in love and happy. But I'm very curious what the rationale is for that sort of behavior.

Have you ever seen a post with Kobe Bryant and his kids, who are definitely "curly head" as you say? Well I don't want to talk about children but people definitely GO IN on them, and not in a good way.
