Keke Palmer Has Smarts + Eve Doesn’t Want A “Sap” For A Man

Keke Palmer recently graduated from high school and get this, she received her diploma a year early.

Actress/recording artist KeKe Palmer has some major achievements to celebrate this summer. She recently graduated from high school from the Home School Program Options for Youth curriculum. She has also been awarded the 2010 BET "Youngstars" AWARD and she is gearing up to release her sophomore album with Interscope this fall.

She tweets that she is releasing a mixtape this summer and is also launching her new blog tomorrow. All of these accomplishments come just before her 17^th birthday in August. Sweet!

She is uber fab and the pinnacle of Young, Black and Fabulous.

Meanwhile, Rapper Eve recently sat down with Essence’s Sister 2 Sister magazine to dish about her ex-fiances and her new outlook on life. Here’s a snippet from the interview:

Jamie: We talked about this: You said you’re doing a lot of self-evaluation and I mentioned to you, if you were Eve, would you marry Eve?   

Eve: Right, when we were talking about relationships and stuff. I definitely can’t get frustrated with the kind of guys that I deal with: “Oh, he gets on my nerves,” or more like, “I can’t believe he would do that.” It’s like I have something in me that’s attracting that kind of men, so I know I have to do self-reflection because I want to bring the right kind into my life. And that is a great question, “Would I marry myself?” Probably. I would absolutely marry myself. 

Jamie: You told me you were engaged to a Ghanaian guy. You’re in Africa a lot. Why is that?

Eve: I was going to Ghana for a while just because that’s where he is from. He’s an amazing man. We keep in touch every so often. He was a great guy, but I knew it wasn’t right. We definitely didn’t have the same things going on in our heads, as far as what it is we wanted as a life. He pretty much was down to do whatever I wanted to do and I don’t need that, you know? 

Jamie: No?   

Eve: I need somebody in my life that’s going to challenge me. Like, I definitely want to be priority, but I don’t want a sap. You know what I mean?

I never comment on these pages but I couldn't help myself today. As I was reading some of the posts I was really irritated that people on here would have something negative to say about this young lady it's really sad, as adults we should be uplifting our youth when they do the right thing as we too often hear about them doing the wrong things What have we come to black people stop all of this self hate there's enough people hating us as is. wherever however she graduated we ALL should be proud and use her as a role model for our kids. We need to get it together Ms. Keke you have my blessings keep doing your thing sweetie!

I say congrats to keke. Its funni, wasn't it this blog ppl were saying "well, she got $$, who needs an education" not long ago when we talkin bout fantasia. Now we have a young woman, who by the looks of things, has a very fine future, and we belittle her accomplishments. But it annoys me when celebrities talk about getting diplomas early, or doing well in school..most of them have a tutor or something along those lines. Individual attention. That's way different than accomplishing the same thing in a classroom of 20 or more students. Just sayin... i agree. it's easy to graduate early when you're the only student in the class, not only that who knows what the material look like that they do. It could very well be just the basics. I'm not surprised at any celebrity graduating early that gets home schooled.

It annoys you that some

It annoys you that some people graduate early? That's insane. If anything u should be elated that a young sister is doing the right thing. And when ppl graduate early or are homeschooled, u as a taxpayer save money on education costs. Quite possibly on Section 8, food stamps, welfare to work, SSI and other benefits that go to young women who drop out, become teen Moms or are otherwise led astray.

I completely agree with you.

I completely agree with you. In addition to individual attention, home school and private school students are often not required to take the same state tests and public school students. I'm not sure about other states' equivalents, but in South Carolina students have to pass the HSAP (High School Assessment Program). Even if they receive all the required credits, they CANNOT receive a high school diploma if they do not pass the HSAP. I am very concerned about some aspects of home schooling. While some parents may do a good job, some states only require a high school diploma for parents to home school their children -- when teachers are required to not only have a degree, but pass several exams AND do continuing education to have their certificates renewed.
