Janet Jackson Latest PETA Victim? + Tia & Tamera Debut New Show Tonight

Now that PETA has taken a break from spitting fire at Kelis, Janet Jackson has become their latest target. Read on to see what PETA has to say about Janet. Plus the deets on Tia and Tamera's new reality show......

Animal activists have slammed Janet Jackson for signing on as the new face of fur firm BlackGlama. PETA was quick to react when Janet was announced as the brand's new 'What Becomes a Legend Most?' spokes model on Thursday. PETA spokeswoman Amanda Schinke issued a statement saying:

“It’s amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn’t think that Janet was this desperate. Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognize that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat.”

Really though? Did they need to attack her career? PETA does not play around when they are trying to hit you where it hurts.

Of course you saw this coming sooner or later. Our favorite YBF twins Tia and Tamera Mowry will be appearing in their own reality show that debuts tonight at 10:30pm. The half-hour special entitled "Tia and Tamera, Take 2" will be premiering on the Style Network.

The show will allow viewers to get a glance of the twin's during their everyday lives as they visit a tattoo parlor, take a fear-tinged flying lesson and other activities. If the show is a hit, it may possibly be picked up by the network. Congrats. I'm still waiting for the premiere of The Game.

Tia and Tamera Take 2 debuts July 17 @ 10:30PM on Style.

I won't even waste my breath on peta. I do however, HEART Tamera! She's taken a backseat to her sister recently, and you can tell she is the shier, more reserved twin. But she's def. stepped up her fashion game, and has really come into her own. Plus, she seems like a very spiritually grounded young woman. shes never afraid to tweet inspirational stuff, and not that generic stuff that other celebs do, she seems like she's really walking the walk with the lord. go girl.

I'm no PETA member, but I think some of you need to do some research before commenting. Why not look online for videos about how fur is made, its really disgusting. And I dont think they are racist either, they criticize many fur wearers- JLo was on their hit list for a long time. And fur isnt their only issue, but many of you probably only read about their work when they criticize a YBF celeb perhaps. Anyhoos, I'm not a fan of PETA's tactics - I dont think all attention is good attention, and that's why many dont take them seriously. But if Janet signed on to be the face of a fur company, she really must have also considered a PETA backlash. It shouldn't be a surprise, so please, move on. Both PETA and Janet will be fine.

I really love Tia & Tamera. They are so beautiful. I love how they have been able to stay in the industry and avoid all the drama, downfalls, pointless publicity stunts, and stupidity. They are beautiful, talented, college-educated, and CLASSY. That is something that you do not see that often and I am so proud of the both of them. They are an excellent example of what black women should be.
