Well looky looky. Serena Williams suffered the misfortune of having foot surgery last week in L.A....all thanks to a non-sports injury. But she got through it with her besties...and her ex Common...by her side.

After winning her 8th Wimbledon championship a few weeks ago, Serena was unlucky during a recent wine and dine outing when she stepped on broken glass in a restaurant. The uber tennis champ had to get foot surgery in Beverly Hills last week, but the injuries don't seem career threatening. Chick even had to spend a week in bed!
But how nice of her ex boyfriend Common to stop by her bedside. The couple announced their breakup after 2 years together recently. But will the damsel in distress Serena melt Common's heart again? Hmmmm. We're hoping so. But he very likely could have just been there for moral support alongside her bestie La La Vazquez, who Tweeted the pic.
