Will YOU Go To Lil Kim's New Hair Salons?

Well how nice of Kimberly Jones to reach back and pull her family right along with her. Lil' Kim and her cousin Katrise Jones are expanding Katrise's chain of salons across the nation. And what better way to get the masses' attention than to make your cousin's recognizable...*looks both ways*...face the "face" of your salons. Kim is now the co-owner as well.

Kim and Katrise's new ads and salon details when you read on...

Lil Kim and her cousin Katrise were shot by photographer Derek Blanks recently to get promos for Katrise's new chain of salons. The first salon, Salon Se Swa, opened in Ralegh, Noth Carolina back in 2004.

And now, Katrise wants to expand with additional salons not only to "provide affordable hair care", but to provide jobs and the likes to people in the areas. In case you were wondering what "affordable" means, according to their press release, Salon Se Swa provides $10 wash and sets, $10 haircuts, & $35 and up perms. Damn. That's cheaper than kitchen beauticians.

There are currently three "Salon Se Swa"'s across the state of North Carolina. And the next stop is Atlanta. The rest of the ads:

I'm all about black ownership...so congrats to Kim on the business move. But will you be hitting Lil Kim and co's brand new slew of salons?

I went to Salon Se Swa several times... there used to be alot of salons here in Charlotte but there is only 1 now.... I don't like the prices $10 sound good. but if you need anything extra the costs piles on. If you get a wash and set all they do is take the rollers out and you go on about your day.. If you need your hair wrapped or combed down u def pay extra... The salon is ok tho.. the stylists are nice and everyone is welcoming. Try it whenevre your in charlotte. Plus they are open 7 days a week that helps alot.

Yeah they were nice at

Yeah they were nice at first, but a few of the salons have shut down. One day I went to get a roller set and I guess they paychecks were a day late and they couldn't contact the manager. The stylists pretty much shut down the salon. They locked the doors and said they weren't taking anymore customers. Drove by a couple weeks later and the builiding had a "for lease" sign on the door. That was a couple of years ago so not sure if they opened back up. But they always had business and it was a good system. I guess just bad money management.

Of course her salons closed, went out of business, couldn't pay bills, checks bounced, etc....... How can anybody make any money off of a $10 service?!?!?!?!? Each stylist would have to do like 100 heads a week to make any money at all and there's only so many hours in a day. Even if you did have that many regular, dependable clients, who would want to work that hard for $10? Then you still have to pay for supplies and booth rental or comission out of that $10. That's a losing plan from the beginning. And I can't even imagine what type of clientele a $10 hairstyle would attract.....no ma'am!

I think Kim's before face
