NFL Wife On A Mission To Squash Groupies & Cheating!

Here's one way to work your ass off to keep your husband and other athletes faithful. Tia Robbins, wife of St. Louis Ram Fred Robbins, has launched her own company that serves as roach spray for the groupiedom in the pro-sports world.

We've got the deets when you read on...

Tia, who is now pregnant with the couple's first child, and Fred got hitched just in May of 2009. But chick hit the ground running to find ways to stop all the cheating and groupiedom in the NFL and beyond. Her company, named Off The Market, is described as "a company whose goal it is to keep athletes and their significant others faithful." Apparently she noticed the engrained culture of cheating in the multi-million pro-sports world.

They host dinner parties, events, and other fun things--but for couples only. According to CNBC:

The company launched last year at a party in New York, but since Fred Robbins is now a defensive tackle with the St. Louis Rams, the next event — which will feature some 40 athletes and their wife or girlfriend — will be held in St. Louis at the end of the month.

Robbins says she's confident that this is a real business. The event in New York was sponsored by a W Hotel, Judith Ripka jewelry, a concierge service and an athlete insurance company. She’s currently looking for sponsors for the Oct. 31 event.

"This is a company's chance to reach a high-profile demographic in an intimate setting," said Tia, who is now pregnant with the couple's first child.

Robbins admits it’s getting harder and harder to fight the public perception that all athletes cheat.

“I get it all the time,” said Robbins, who dated Fred for nine years before they got married. “Everyone’s situation is different and there are a lot of athletes that are fully committed and have great relationships.”

Damn...call me cynical but I'm actually surprised there's 40 couples actually making an effort of fidelity in the pro-athlete world. I guess Tiger, Kobe, Shaq, and a bunch of others' invites got lost in the mail.

Despite the fact I believe a man is going to cheat if a man wants to cheat no matter what, I actually love this idea. More power to her. Press on Tia! Your thoughts?

After checking out the website for Off The Market... I'm GUESSING the concept is: hosting events (that are invite only) where you are surrounded by couples, therefore no "groupies". I hope she and her partners understand that this concept seems a little vague. Anyone can host a private party, and invite couples only. If you want to ban "groupies" you better get in the clubs where they are at, at the gate where they wait on them, hang out in the hotels where they are... and above all with the advancement of technology; where creeping/texting/sexting/IMing/chatting/Skype'ing is the new hook up. If she want to changed the image of the athletes, and ward off groupies... these athletes need to become more family oriented, and their entourages and the professional association held accountable for helping them creep/cheat. No way in the world you can't tell me that these groupies/fans to have access to the players if they are choosing not to be bothered. Good luck girl with your "company" - seem like a waste of money and time unless you going to be a Black Barbie PI, and your husband is not going to let you snitch/rat out anybody in the league.

Although I'm glad she started this company and is making the effort, ummm....how is this supposed to help they horney asses keep the dicks in their pants?? Uhh, hosting monthly events for couples? NO! Won't work. They wana be in the clubs with half nekkid hot bitches throwing themselves @ them. A better idea, would be to make hotels ban groupies from coming inside when the athletes are present. Make the bitches buy a room @ the Four Season's, I'll bet you they be like "oh F that" I can't afford that! They sit in these hotels lobbies basically stalking these men. And they don't take no for an answer. Ban them chicks from showing up at games, hanging around locker rooms. That's what her business need to focus on. Making it hard for them hoes. What's wrong with this idea? What's wrong with a couple going hanging out with other couples like them? Its better than a married man or woman hanging out with the single crew, trying to do what the single crew is doing. It still wont stop a spouse from cheating, if they really want to. But as long as both parties have the same goal, to make the relationship work, than there is nothing wrong with a couples retreat. Staying on the same level with your spouse, and keeping it about the two of you, and not what he/she wants, is hard to do. 13 years later, I know you can't stop a man from cheating. Both partners have to want the same thing. Can't work with just one wanting a happy marriage.
