Producer Mario Winans A Broke Deadbeat Dad?!

There is drama brewing with the Winans gospel clan...and it involves a wack baby daddy and witchcraft.  Deets inside...

Superstar producer Mario Winans is being accused of being a deadbeat by his baby momma Janel Bennett.  Mario, who is the nephew of "BeBe" Winans and the son of gospel superstar Vicki Winans, is said to be four months behind on child support payments, according to Janel.

Janel says Mario is supposed to pay $4,500 a month for their son Jordan, who he has not visited.  And despite producing Dirty Money's Last Train To Paris album, in addition to hits for Drake, Destiny's Child and Whitney Houston, Mario claims he is broke.

The star producer, who has three other kids with his wife, Joy, has been fighting in court with Janel since 2007. But he recently told the NY Post that he would wire $14,000 to her over the weekend.

"I take pride in my children -- it is what it is -- I always make sure they are taken care of," he said.

But the family drama gets deeper when you ask mother Vicki Winans how she feels about Janel. In a 2007 email, Vicki said to her,

"Girl, you did not ask me when you took action and screwed Mario that day! You should have used a defense [a condom]!"

And in another e-mail, Vickie said,

"Nobody likes a stuck-on-themselves pretty white girl with pretty eyes that thinks the world owes them everything."

When asked about the comments by the NY Post, Vickie said,

"You didn't hear our phone conversations or the e-mails she sent us! She is evil.  I was singing a concert while they were having a baby. I have nothing to do with this . . . I want to meet my grandbaby, but I'm afraid of her. She's into all this witchcraft..."Mario is not a deadbeat dad. He doesn't have the money so I lent it to him to pay her. I am a good grandmother, and I love all of my grandchildren."

This sounds like a big family mess. But it's funny how Vicki went all biblical and accused the baby momma of being a witch.  Makes me wonder why Mario got involved with her in the first place.

Wow! Here we go again.

Wow! Here we go again. Before posting you should at least have your facts straight. I know Mario and his wife and they are very happy. Their daughter is 10 and they have been together since 1998. You are delusional with the comments about your relationship with Mario - engaged?? Fabricating stories about being his QUEEN and advising him to get married!? Janel, Please Stop. The word (s*x) is not equivalent to relationship. Unfortunately, innocent children are involved but this situation is not a new one. Every time you turn around there's another woman saying she's pregnant with a man she claims she was having a "relationship" with. Now years later you’re on a website (again) complaining about child support and visits. Maybe if woman start thinking about what comes after before they get with these men then there would be less "innocent" children caught up in these messy situations! Mario has been responsible and you know that! And then you are on here talking about other people’s children - what if they were talking about yours???? Casting judgment on others are we?????? FALL BACK Janel! Handle your business and Mario and his wife will continue to handle theirs.

Singer, songwriter,

Singer, songwriter, producer Mario Winans made waves on the R&;B music scene in 2004 with his solo release Hurt No More. The album, released on P. Diddy's Bad Boy label, topped the charts immediately, selling a quarter of a million copies in its first week of release, and launching the hit single "I Don't Wanna Know." The work followed his less commercially successful 1997 Motown debut, Story of My Heart. In addition to his solo work, Winans has made a name for himself producing, writing, and performing on the albums of other artists, including Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, and the members of his famous gospel-singing family. The Winans family has long been known as something of a musical dynasty. Winans's mother, Vicki Winans, is an award-winning gospel singer. His father, Marvin Winans, along with his three uncles, are members of the Winans, a quartet that is frequently credited with helping to update traditional gospel music and give it a more urban, contemporary sound. J. R. Reynolds of Billboard wrote that the Winans family is well on the way to stealing the title of best known black musical family from the sensational pop-rocking Jackson family. Winans set out to carve out his own musical legacy among mainstream audiences with his solo debut, Story of My Heart, in 1997. Although the album marked the first time a Winans family member had recorded an R&;B set, Winans didn't so much set out to chart his own musical course apart from his family as to find a niche that would allow him to voice his unique talents. "With love songs [as opposed to Gospel]," he explained to Billboard 's Shawnee Smith, "you may say 'baby' or something like that, and gospel radio doesn't really play that." Music was in the air throughout Winans's childhood, and so it was natural that Winans would take to music as soon as he was able to bang on pots and pans in his grandmother's kitchen. While he later studied music in school, it was his own experimentation outside of school that led him to the music that was later to make him famous in his own right. Winans's early studies included piano and drums, and instruction in how to read music. He began composing in earnest when his mother bought him recording equipment, and taught himself how to use the gear. "From then on," he recalled on his website, "I was making beats constantly." Winans began his professional music career in his teens, producing and performing on the albums of other artists. His first gig came just after he graduated from high school, when he produced an album for a gospel music group based in Detroit. Next came a job as in-house producer for Atlanta-based producer Dallas Austin, where one of Winans's first projects was working with hip-hopper R. Kelly. This sealed Winans's reputation as a first class producer, and he continued producing and writing well after he began his solo career. Besides R. Kelly's music, Winans's production work has graced tracks by such renowned artists as Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Winans family members, Janet Jackson, and many others. Winans made his solo recording debut on Motown, releasing Story of My Heart in 1997. The then-22-year-old Winans penned and produced Story of My Heart as a collection of love songs, setting the tone for his future solo work. The album featured the single "Don't Know," which incorporated samples from rapper Notorious B.I.G. and R&;B superstar Barry White. The album was a hard sell for Winans's parents, who would have preferred to see him follow his gospel roots more closely. But they eventually got behind the project, especially since the album did not include profanity or other questionable lyrics. Even though his parents might not have agreed, Winans felt that his debut album did in fact reflect his background in religious music as well as his religious faith, because God, he said, is love personified. He also hoped that his music would help people to understand that the best way to cope with life's problems, including relationship troubles, is through prayer. Because Story of My Heart broke new musical ground for the Winans family, Winans did not have his family's extensive audience to draw from. Motown had to start from scratch in building Winans a fan base of his own. To serve that end, Motown sent posters and tapes to beauty parlors, barber shops, and colleges around the United States, and planned both national and European tours for Winans. However, just as the album was getting off the ground, Winans's biggest booster at Motown, Andre Harrell, left the company, and sales of the album languished. Only one track, "Don't Know," reached the charts, and the album sold fewer than 20,000 copies. Motown and Winans parted ways, but Winans stayed busy producing and recording with other artists for the next few years. Eventually he moved to P. Diddy's Bad Boy Entertainment label for his next release, 2004's Hurt No More. The album featured the multitalented Winans singing and playing keyboards and drums, as well as his songwriting and production talents. Following the path he blazed for himself with Story of My Heart, Winans again explored the fertile ground of affairs of the heart with Hurt No More. "This record," he said on his website, "is about relationships, pure and simple." More than that, the album set out to show that men can be just as emotionally vulnerable as women, without being any less masculine for it. Hurt No More opens with the single "I Don't Wanna Know." Featuring samples from P. Diddy and new-ager Enya, the track explores a man's reaction to a woman's infidelity and his choice to accept her anyway. Other cuts deal with themes of separation from a loved one and the desire not to be taken for granted by a lover. The album proved to be a winner, debuting in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and in the number one position on the Top R&;B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. "I Don't Wanna Know" became the second-best-selling single in the United States, and the album sold 223,000 copies in its first week alone, firmly establishing the 29-year-old Winans as a force to be reckoned with on the R&;B scene. (July 2008) [edit] Story Of My Heart: (1995–1997) In the mid-1990s, Mario was signed to a production deal with Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records thru producers Tim & Bob. He lived with the duo at they're house studio until his breakthrough came as a Christian songwriter, musician and co-producer on R. Kelly's "I Can't Sleep Baby" and "You Remind Me Of Something" from the R. Kelly album in 1995. He also worked with Pebbles and 98 Degrees. Winans eventually released his debut album Story of my Heart on Motown in 1997. While the song "Don't Know" reached the U.S. R&B top 50, the album failed to chart. Soon after, Winans teamed up with P. Diddy and his Bad Boy roster, playing drums on "Come With Me" by Diddy and Jimmy Page, based on the classic Led Zeppelin song "Kashmir" from their 1975 album Physical Graffiti. Over the next several years Winans amassed a sizeable list of production credits for Bad Boy artists including Diddy, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil' Kim, Faith Evans, Loon, Black Rob, and 112. He has also worked with notable artists outside Bad Boy including Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Tamia, and Brian McKnight. Winans co-wrote the 2-part song "I Need a Girl" with P. Diddy and appeared on the "Pt. 2" version with Loon, Ginuwine, and Diddy, which became a hit recording in 2002. He also produced the Bad Boy remix compilation We Invented The Remix in 2002. [edit] Hurt No More: (2001–2005) Winans recorded his second album Hurt No More in 2001, 2002, and 2003 in between his busy schedule working with other artists. The album is based on stories of love and betrayal. The first single "I Don't Wanna Know" was based on a sample of the Fugees' 1996 hit single "Ready Or Not", which itself was based on a slowed-down sample of the instrumental track "Boadicea" by Enya from her 1987 self-titled album. Enya and her representatives became angry since Winans did not seek her approval for the sample, as he was unaware that the Fugees sample he had used had itself been a sample. So, a compromise was reached to credit the single as "Mario Winans featuring P. Diddy and Enya". [1] The song features a rap by P. Diddy and radio programmers and club DJs started playing the track when it started appearing on mixtapes. The song was released as the single in early 2004 and became a worldwide hit going to #1 in Germany and on the rhythmic top 40 radio chart in the United States; to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart, and on the world internet download charts; and to #3 on a composite world R&B chart (based on the R&B charts in the U.S., UK, Germany, France, and Australia) and on both the Australian and Norwegian singles charts. It also reached the top ten on a composite European singles chart. Hurt No More was released on April 20, 2004 in the U.S. and, by early June 2004, had reached #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, #2 on the Billboard 200, and #3 on the UK's album chart. The album's second single, "Never Really Was", used a sample of the orchestrated beginning of Madonna's 1986 hit, "Papa Don't Preach", as its background music. However, the song failed to chart in America. A remix version was released as a single featuring rapper Lil Flip. The song "This is the Thanks I Get" began to chart on billboard and was stated to be the album's third and final single but no official release was set. The song went on to peak on Billboards R&B Chart at #112. [edit] Story Of My Heart Page 2: (2006–Present) Winans appeared on Diddy's album, Press Play producing, writing and singing on "Through The Pain (She Told Me)" and the hit single "Last Night" with Keyshia Cole. "Last Night" was originally intended for his own album, which he had apparently been recording for release in 2007, this never occured. Winans also recently executive produced Diddy's new Dirty Money album "Last Train To Paris" which was released in late 2010 and Trey Songz' 2010 single "Can't Be Friends" which has topped the American R'n'B charts for over 10 weeks. In early 2011, Winans began working on his 3rd studio album which is said to be titled "Story Of My Heart Page 2". WRONG-Too bad the Post didnt

WRONG-Too bad the Post didnt "POST" my reply to Vickies "shes a witch" comment I serve the ONE TRUE GOD-The GOD of Moses, Abraham, and Issac! If you really took a look and realized that this has been an ONGOING ordeal and I just answered questions when I was asked- ALL of this was brought on BY MARIO and his FAILURE to pay what the courts of the UNITED STATES require of any person that has a child! THE TWELTH motion of contempt was filed people!!! THE TWELTH WARRANT FOR HIS ARREST was issued!!!! SEE for yourselves- its PUBLIC record! The POST doesnt just write this stuff w/out PROOAF but due to "editorial"rights and the FIRST amendment they have the right to "copy and Paste" at their discretion!!!! ALL I ever wanted and the reason it went to the TWELTH round was because for the past FIVE years, I have been BELIEVING ALL the LIES and have been BELIEVING Mario AND Vickie that they were sincere that they wanted to do the "GODLY" thing! Just because they are a part of a "GOSPEL" family DOES NOT make them any more special or untouchable to the devils trickery!!!! It is NOT flesh nd blood we fight against!!! and to those who are under the assumption I was with Mario when he was Married???? WRONG again- HE AND I were engaged when his (NOW WIFE of 2 years)(and I am the one that advised MARIO to MAN up and CHOOSE- cuz now i knew the TRUTH about her from JORDAN being born- @@ days before he dialed a 1800 minister and DID marry her- he was telling me he LOVED me and I was his QUEEN! SO dont believe all you hear- gossip is nOT GODLY either!!! JOY came in and got pregnant w/ their daughter who is now 9- she had a kid from her previous man and he is now 20 aka- LUCKDOLLAZ- )and take a look at him in his newest video- THAT WILL GIVE YOU SOME INSIGHT ON HOW PROUD THEY SHOULD BE-(THANK GOD- Jordan has not been around them to be influenced and I even promised Vickie that Jordan would NEVER turn out to be another "lil HIP HOP thug" PLEASE- this has ALL been a lesson and an EYE OPENER for me- I would have NEVER in a million years believed these people could be so dirty- and to go as far as to act like she hasnt seen her "JUICY" and call me evil? and into witchcraft??? REALLY NANNEEEEE???? ok- thats why you sent me an e mail ten min after yr commment and told me you love and MISS ME??? you only stepped in to get me to stop moving forward w/ my attorney trying to seduce me with your riches- YOU DONT GET IT!!! I am not impressed- you can have it! Just make sure the court ordered amount - which I lowered to end it dwn to 3500- everything would hv been silent and quiet and I was DONE- but- NO Mario had to go up n dissapear again for 4 months due to the holidays and I guess he just didnt feel he needed to send it- THATS WHY THIS HAPPENED- GOD does work in mysterious ways- and HE has a way of " SMOKING OUT THE SNAKES" The REAL Winans are NOT involved in this- they have NEVER done anything wrong to me and I HAVE NO PROBLEMS w/ them!!! This has been all about Vickie- NOT wanting her son to be with a WHITE girl!!!!!! I wash my hands and I pray for you all- I leave you in GODs hands- and TRUTH Is like oil in water eventually, it comes to the surface??? WE know the truth- most importantly GOD knows the truth- I am free-Jordan is happy- and has NO clue bout all this- He missses his daddy but kNOWS he is loved. GOD turns ALL things around for good and HE makes ALL things beautiful in HIS time! I Pray for ALL the innocent children involved. MAY GODS GRACE AND MERCY AND FORGIVENESS BE ON US ALL!!!!!!

Mario Winans has accomplished

Mario Winans has accomplished more than many musicians twice his age. Some of hip-hop, R&B and gospel music’s most well respected artists have been blessed with Mario’s nimble production talents and thoughtful lyricism. His resume reads like a nomination list on Grammy night: Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, R.Kelly, Jennifer Lopez, Brian McKnight, The Notorious B.I.G., P.Diddy, 702 and of course, his own Winans family. Mario’s story begins in his grandmother’s kitchen. “I was constantly banging on the pots and pans with wire hangers,” explains Mario with a laugh. “As far as I was concerned, I was playing the drums.” His fascination with percussion continued throughout his childhood, nurtured by his world-renown Winans gospel family. In school, he was an attentive student, studying music in a formal fashion. But after school, he headed straight for his room and made the beats he wanted to hear. “I know how to read music,” says Mario, who also plays various instruments including the piano, drums and keyboard. “But for me, composing music has always been about passion and feeling.” Mario’s turning point as a producer came when his mother, the famous gospel singer, Vickie Winans, brought home a room full of recording equipment. “I just taught myself how to operate every machine in there. And from then on, I was making beats constantly.” Only one week after graduating from high school, Mario produced an entire gospel album for a local group. A trip to Atlanta resulted in a meeting with producer Dallas Austin who, impressed with the young man’s production, signed him as an in-house producer. Work with R. Kelly soon followed and Mario quickly developed his reputation as a top-notch producer and songwriter. Mario never gave much consideration to becoming a recording artist. However, after being persuaded, he began pursuing a solo project under Motown Records. Things were moving slowly and he needed to move to the next level. “I called a friend of mine who was cool with P. Diddy,” says Mario. “In five minutes, I was on the phone with him. He knew my work and he said he thought I had what it took to be a BadBoy. Within a week, we were getting the paperwork together.”The culmination of a decade’s long journey is the Mario Winans’ Bad Boy debut, Hurt No More. This is soul music that bridges the gap between the hard-edged flavor of modern day R&B music and the honest, vulnerable passion in the music of years gone by. Vulnerability is a key theme on Hurt No More. Mario brings an earnest, sincere approach to his music that hasn’t been heard in years. “This record is about relationships, pure and simple. We all have hearts. Sometimes we have to look deeper into what we’re saying and doing to the people we care about. At the bottom of these fights, it’s usually always something deeper.” The album begins with his well-received first single, “I Don’t Wanna Know” (featuring Enya & P.Diddy), where he goes to a place that few R&B singers have never gone before-the decision to face a woman’s infidelity and choosing to ignore it. “I express my emotions best through music. I like music that makes your stomach tight. That kind of music that hits that spot that makes you forget everything except your feelings at that moment. I’m singing this for everybody. Women need to know that men have the same hearts they do. We still have to be men about it because you can take our kindness for weakness. But I did that song for all of us. Once and for all, yes, men hurt too,” he says. “Three Days Ago” is an open letter to someone who is deeply missed. A universal theme, the record could easily be about a loved one, a child or a parent. “Disbelief” a modernized mid-tempo with delicate keys throughout, Mario’s silky voice weaves in and out of the track with ease, lending credence to the painful lyrics about a vacillating lover. “Can’t Judge Me” makes it clear that Mario is not all about wallowing in pain and sorrow. Over intricate production, he warns his woman not to take him for granted-a theme that both women and men can understand. “Pretty Girl Bullsh*t” is a complex, techno-influenced instrumentation with a heavy bass line that exhibits his no-nonsense side. He flips his suave and understanding side for the inner core of any man who has more than enough of a neck-swiveling woman with no respect for her man. “I’ve been in a lot of the experiences on this record,” says Mario. “And I can talk about them. I can sing about them. As long as I’m making people feel, I’m doing what I was put here by God to do.”

So I am reading all the comments people are posting but only a few touched on what really gets me about people having unprotected sex. STD's!!!! People and especially our people (and I say that from a Center of Disease Control CDC statistical standpoint) don't think about the fact that just one tainted encounter can leave you with a lifelong reminder that penicillin just cant cure. Sure having an unwanted child is a tremendous consequence too, but it only takes one diseased penis or vagina to KILL YOU. Come on peeps do better. Wrap it up or better yet get to know someone before you start slapping nappys and quit all this foolishness. #imjustsaying

When a man lies down with a

When a man lies down with a woman, he should know the kind of woman he's getting involved with, especially if he is high profile. Men and women both know that having sex can possibly create a child. Because birth control is so more available to women doesn't mean a man shouldn't protect himself as well. If you are involved in a one-night-stand, how do you know if she's on birth control or not? Quit thinking with your penises! God gave you the head up top so you can think before you act. How can you trust someone you don't even know? Some of these people play merry-go-round in the bedroom, jumping from one partner to the next. You know having sex can make a baby, even WITH birth control, so MEN, WRAP IT UP IF YOU DON'T WANT THE POSSIBILITY OF A CHILD! Quit depending on the female to be upright and honest. If you do protect yourself and a baby comes from that union, too bad. Deal with it. Man up and take responsibility for your actions. A baby doesn't ask to come into the world. Your ass should be wearing a condom anyway to protect yourself against SOME STDs and HIV. You make your bed, you gotta lie in it!
