10-Year-Old Girl Raps An Open Letter To Lil Wayne About His Derogatory Lyrics

Two 9 and 10-Year-Old girls (going by the name of Watoto From The Nile) wrote and rapped an "open letter" to Lil Wayne about his disrespectful lyrics to women.  And they did so over his "I'm Single" beat.

Peep it when you read on...

The video has gone viral on the net.  Very thought provoking.

Their Youtube channel describes the song this way:

"Letter to Lil Wayne" is a direct statement of justice from Watoto From The Nile. Growing tired and fed up with the constant degradation of Black women inside of Hip Hop music, they voice thier views and opinions on this melodic track.

And if you want to support these young ladies, you can cop their single for $0.99 HERE.

Thoughts?

Girl your voice is amazing ,

Girl your voice is amazing , I do agree with you that he does call women some very `mean` names however song's like ... 'how to love' do not contain him calling women hurtful names and I love that you had the courage to post this even though you would get criticized by some people because you only blamed Lil Wayne for calling women nasty names when you could include Eminem and Dr.Dre etc ... if you get what I mean ; )

To everyone saying rap is a

To everyone saying rap is a problem your pretty stupid. This is a new generation and this generation doesn't like that old happy music crap. So we created new types of music including rap, something past musicians failed to do. They sang the same old stuff every year until talented people created new music. So deal with the music or lock your children up and make them a social outcast because this is the music that is going to stay around a long time.

Why are these Lil kids

Why are these Lil kids listening to his songs anyway so, ii blame the parents for letting them listen to his songs even though it is on the radio they are still not to be listening to anything that has so many explicit language to any songs so, its really not his fault... even though these Lil girls are right for what they said but ii still agree to what ii said... Lil ' Wayne can still be a role model he just have to do what he do just to provide for his Lil ' girl and himself. #Point Proved

I think this is a wonderful

I think this is a wonderful thing these lil ladies are doing. For those who are offended that is too sad because they are entitled to their opinion, they have a mind and from the song knows right from wrong. It is wonderful that their lil hearts thinks about women being degraded and their self esteem is high. This will be rewarding for them as they grow up and be more productive in life. God Bless You lil ladies, and keep up the Great Work!! I salute YOU ladies.

Vladimir Bercy You can't expect someone to stop being themselves just because someone else is offended. No matter what you do, someone somewhere will be offended. What are we to do? WooW. Awesome! I do believe they could've written it. I remember I wrote very impressive poetry at that age. So, I think it's possible ... plus kids know more these days than we did at that age.

It doesn't matter if the

It doesn't matter if the little girls created the music themselves or not! We have to realize and face the fact that the disrespect in Hip Hop is an issue. Are we going to change our ways or make excuses for the behavior and continue to justify and glorify it? Please know that we are teaching young girls to be insecure and weak. We wonder why so many women don't know their worthiness;but look at what they see, hear and witness in the media, culture and society. Black people we are truly our worst enemy.

It has to start some where.

It has to start some where. This was just the first step maybe it will trickle down to the rest. Who knows they may be in the process of making other songs for other rappers. This great and positive. At least they aren't being noticed for child abuse, being wanna be video vixens, or drugs. GREAT JOB!!

That was so cute and

That was so cute and appreciated! From the way ppl were talking I was expecting the lyrics & rapping to be complex but it is believable that a 10 year old could have wrote those simple, positive lyrics. I know plenty of 10 year old girls that age that could have written that perfectly. My question for those ppl who find it unbelievable is where are y'all living for you to think that is unusual for a 10 year old to be as articulate as this child appears to be. That should be and is the norm for many of our children. They just don't get the media attention. With all of the tests kids have to pass now. My son is in the 1st grade and the school has him doing fractions, reading and writing for homework. A different assignment every night. You do your job as a parent and/or mentor and the children in your life will do something to make you as proud as I'm sure these children's parents are of them. How can you hate on children doing something positive?! SMH
Bmore's picture

I agree that it doesn't

I agree that it doesn't matter if someone else had a hand in helping them write this song. I would much rather hear a little girl (or teenager for that matter) singing these lyrics rather than Lil' Wayne's Lollipop song or whatever the kids are listening to now. These little girls actually give me hope that we will still have some children being raised to be ladies that value themselves and will someday be wives before they are mothers rather than being content some man's baby mama, boo or "wifey."

Lil wayne didnt invent that... and if you really want to stop him, just stop listening to cash money... u goin to slow up his money, and then y'all dont even have product to replace his music, therefore ruined capital inflow to the black community... when 50 stopped Ja, he had product to replace it... y'all have no platinum product to replace it... therefore y'all just talking sh*t...

I'm proud o these girls!!!

I'm proud o these girls!!! Funny how evn black folk will stand n the way of US tryin 2stand up for non-conformity 2better ourselves so we can really BE our true selves. So many of us hav been brainwashed n it's not evn our fault. My own lil girl who's 4 struggles w believing that she's beautiful...her hair texture, her complexion. It's a harsh world for her. Her dad is now dating outside the race for the first time n treats this woman better than he's treated any black woman he's ever been with. He's so lost and she's so confused cuz what mommy tells her about her own natural beauty n how she deserves 2B treated is not supported n most of what she sees. Why should I hav 2work 2find things that support her worth: beauty, intelligence & strength? I'm so proud of brown, n I'm glad that some of our parents n some of our girls are at least thinking n working 2keep black/brown something we can be proud of.

Lil Wayne was rapping at age

Lil Wayne was rapping at age 11, so why couldn't these girls have come up with this song? Just like any other songwriter, at any age, they received some lyrical input from those around them and helping them to produce the song. My nephews have notebooks full of raps they've been writing since they were 8 and 9 years old, so it is definitely possible. Re: Not listening to the songs. I don't buy Lil Wayne's music, and I absolutely HATE Gucci Mane's music, but my kids know their songs because it is popular, other kids listen to it, have it on their ipods and cell phones, so they share it with them. They know it's not allowed at home or in our car....but they still know it. A little white boy at my nephews school, showed him how to pull up porn on his cell phone, and they are in 6th grade. So influences are everywhere.
