BREAKING: Wyclef Jean Shot In Haiti

Singer Wyclef Jean, who's in Haiti to support presidential candidate Michel Martelly in today's elections, was shot in the hand last night around 11pm local time. Deets inside...

Fugees leader Wyclef Jean, who recently performed a concert to show support for Haiti presidential candidate Michel Martelly, was shot in the hand last night around 11pm.

Joe Mignon, a senior program director for Wyclef’s Yele Foundation, confirmed to the Associate Press that Wyclef was in Delmas, Haiti when shot. Wyclef's brother also confirms. The "911" rapper has since been released from a local hospital and no additional details were provided.

His fellow band member, Pras, tweeted about the shooting saying:

As the shooting comes on the eve of presidential elections, one has to wonder if it is somehow related to his support of Michel.
