Tika is Beautiful, and I have to agree with what some of you are saying about color tone. In my opinion, I feel that dark skinned (black) women do not get the props we deserve. It's almost as if dark skinned black women are taboo. Dark black women are beautiful, yet no one wants you know about it.... I'm bout to change that sh.. though. I'm working on two screenplays, and my main characters will be Dark skinned BLACK women. I am interested in Tika Sumpter and LL Cool J to play my first movie. I know wishful thinking, but I'm trying to be optimistic.

That may be true about Oprah and Whoopi but they are like mother figures, non-threatening to the current standards of beauty. The women that are popularized in the media and on in mags like Maxim are often not women of darker complexions. The only woman of a darker complexion that I can think of that gets any buzz is Kelly Rowland. I mean look at the women of color they do talk about, Halle Berry, Zoe Saldana, Paula Patton, Beyonce, Alicia Keys. Can you honestly think these are the only women with talent. When it comes down to it. The Media is like one big beauty contest and they obviously have a preference. I mean look at the show "My wife and kids", they replaced the dark skinned girl with a lighter girl with "good hair" and every time they have a kids show with a white girl the best friend that is black is always mixed or of a fairer complexion. So it's not a matter of us having hang-ups it's just the fact that the media has a preference. You see the same thing in Indian culture especially with their Bollywood films.

Again, objectively speaking, the matter of one's size is irrelevant to the finding of her being fit. Fitness has objective indicators. I never said she was the thinnest person. I am a size 0 petite 5 2, 110...14% BF. Her "stomach" is not hanging over. Black folks come in some of the most beautiful colors on this great Earth and yet, some of us are still struggling with our own doubts and issues and dark skinned women get press all the time as I see an array of beautiful dark skinned sistas on almost every local news station in the Los Angeles area and let's not forget that the tightest sista in the game is one dark skinned powerhouse by the name of OPRAH WINFREY. One more person who is constantly overlooked by her own peeps but is a force of nature is Mz Whoopi Goldberg, the only sista (oh and by the way in case you forgot, she is dark skinned) and African American to have a Grammy, 2 Emmys, 2 Golden Globes and a Tony Award . I want to enlighten some of you. There are those buildings exist, usually called gyms, sport/fitness/whatever centres etc etc etc and usually you would see a big group of people doing something that is called - exercising - I can see that some of you do not know what this thing is, you may want to google it beforehand. So if you buy a ticket and manage to get into that building, you may observe a lot of people who do not only have a 2 pack ( who the f would even want to have a 2 pack ?!?!?!?!? people like this still exist ?!?!?!? ) but have wait wait for it, take a deep breath - no need to explode with super excitement - but some of them have 6 packs !!! and even 8 !!! and after those people finish exercising, they go home and some of them type some stuff in these type of blogs. I know I opened a whole new world to some of you peeps but you know not everyone is as fat as you are and I understand that you think that only people on sites/magazines/etc have toned bodies but you really need to start going out rather than just looking in the mirror and you will see a completely different picture. And another thing - you really think all that people dream about is taking their clothes off and, only in that case, being able to appear in magazines ? gosh guys, if you really hate what you do in life and that would be your dream job, you really need to do something about it, there is no need for you to lead such a miserable existence, only if you insist of course.
