EXCLUSIVE: Kelly Rowland Lands SITCOM STAR Deal With Major Cable Network!

It's indeed "Motivation" singer Kelly Rowland's year. On the heels of a #1 single and hit album Here I Am, TheYBF.com has learned Ms. Rowland just nabbed a deal to star in her very own sitcom!

A major cable network just offered Kelly Rowland a deal to star in her own sitcom.

We've learned the deal was just put on paper yesterday, and the deal should be signed, sealed, and delivered within a few weeks.

She'll begin filming the pilot episode of the yet-to-be named sitcom January 2012.

Kelly is sharpening her acting chops with her new role in the upcoming ensemble cast movie Think Like A Man. And she's also starred in "Girlfriends" a few years ago and movies like Seat Filler, Mama I Want To Sing!, and Freddy vs. Jason.

While we can't yet reveal which major cable network offered up this sitcom deal, let's just say the network is no stranger to giving YBF chicks their shot at stardom.

Kelly also recently confirmed her tour will kick off this September. And Chris Brown & T-Pain will be joining her in the multi-city fun.

I can see Kelly on a sitcom.

I can see Kelly on a sitcom. She has a good personality that if she stars in a well written sitcom, it could work. As for some comments I read, I do see where some are coming from. No offense, it is hypocritical to give her a pass whereas if Riri, Bey, Nicki or Ciara accidentally popped a boob or sold lesser units people do have a field day. I think that's where the backlash against Kelly is coming from. People rooting for her to a thirst quenching level. Not hating, I actually like her myself. But I still treat her the same as other artists, not put her on an imaginary pedestal. Otherwise, congrats to her for the sitcom and opening act with Breezy.

Kelly did not hit gold status in the eye of the media by dropping one cd, and releasing 5 versions of the same one every month. Neither did she drop mediocre cd that magically had hits and another two that made one ponder was it the end of the world yet. her success was gradual even though it felt stagnant for sometime. It's unfortunate that the one that did prove who she always had been talent wise she did so exploiting her femininity. Everything is done with procedure and timing in music, it would not surprise me that the reaction to her new side was also preconcieved, oh she's dark,i think in the minds of her well meaning fans this is not the case. and although that video of hers and new image is compltely out of line and unacceptable, fate would only have it that she has her time as well just as others have. Thats how the world works. She's crossed the line in my books and pushing a side of humanity that should remain latent and prohibited. But this is the world we live in.

Some people are strange in that they only want to see people struggling but if they hit their stride and it seems like they're coasting too smoothly then they want to see them fall. Anyway I hope her show is good. When Eve first got on tv no one knew she'd be so successful and her show ran for years so I hope Kelly gives us something good to watch.

You're right. Kelly does seem to get a free pass for doing some of the same things others are criticized for. Imagine if Beyonce had made the song Motivation. The song basically describes an entire sex scene people!!!!! Beyonce would have been hated on non-stop for making that song. But I think Kelly gets away with it not only because she's dark-skinned, but because she's obviously not perfect. Don't get me wrong, she is beautiful but unlike Beyonce, she doesnt absolutely have no flaws. Beyonce represents perfection and a thats threatening to most women, but Kelly (being someone who is not seen as perfect) has the support of most women because she doesnt threaten them.

As mad as I am about her sex selling, I can see her being good and cute on tv, hope the show brings the sweet, charming, lady-like Kelly back, I don't doubt it will have low ratings because she probably won't have the necessary mainstream audience, and people are canceling their cable subscriptions and having to work more nights to survive, so 2012 might not be good for luxury tv, with America in too much crisis to sit back watching tv.
