I like Tyler Perry and his plays, films, t.v shows etc.. Although it seems somewhere along the line he lost his concept, don't get me wrong he employs many talented black actors/actresses something white hollywood does not do. But every last one of his movies it seems are riddled with abuse.. They should name it the Soap Network. Oh, that's taken. I'm glad for his success but I think he should try to improve his craft. He has an audience that will stomach whatever he puts out. Why not try to get better at film making? You're never too big to get help from people who know what they're doing. The problem with Tyler Perry is an issue of QUALITY. Say what you want about Spike....Spike is making something that is artful, intelligent … He is far from a perfect filmmaker, but he is attempting art. What is Tyler Perry good at? Marketing? Is he good at cinematography? No. Screenwriting? No. Set building and designing? No. Dialogue? No. Working with actors and getting the most from them? No. Not only am I struggling to figure out what Tyler Perry is good at as a filmmaker; I think that he is purposely and willfully ignorant of what it means and takes to be a good filmmaker. It’s just not of interest to him. He works quickly. He doesn’t really have any concern for back story or details. If he were making chairs, they would fall apart. Tyler Perry is just a TOOL for companies like Lionsgate to market to Black audiences. Black Audiences need to demand better quality and more diverse stories. Tyler Perry is not the best by any means. Blacks need to use their economic power to DEMAND better and I'm not just talking about movies........
