Beyonce & Her Preggers Announcement Set New Twitter & MTV Record

Beyonce & Jay-Z's unborn baby is already making history. It's only fitting right? Thanks to Bey's pregnancy announcement at the MTV VMA's Sunday night, Twitter was set on fire like never before, and MTV raked in history making numbers in their network's history.

Deets inside...

It took Baby Carter's mom and dad some years to start making history. It only took this one a few (about 4) months. In addition to all the hot performers adding to the numbers, once Beyonce held her belly on the MTV red carpet, then dropped the mic and showed her protruding baby bump, ish got crazy.

Reportedly, when Bey made her big reveal, Tweets were sent out via the social networking site at 8,868 tweets per second. This beat the previous record of a little over 7K tweets per second when Japan beat the U.S. Women's soccer team this past summer.

And that's not the only record breaking moment. MTV reports that they had their biggest audience in the network's history with a record-breaking 12.4 million total viewers. 8.5 million of those viewers were ages 12-34.

In addition, the VMAs is the #1 cable telecast of 2011 with 12-34 demo and the #1 non-sports cable telecast of 2011 with total viewers.

And MTV digital saw their largest mobile, twitter, and other social networking numbers in their history.

I know Jay Z wants his wife to retire as an ICON and LEGEND, because she finally agreed to have his child, but all these blogs trying to make her out of this ICON, LEGEND, so Jay can make his wife happy, knowing that she accomplish all that she could and can happy raise a family knowing that she is a legend, but she isn't a legend, she only had 4 albums and none of them is on the level of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna. Madonna, Britney, Christina kiss on stage and aren't seen as media whores. Usher drops his pants, Michael dangles his kids from a window, Halle and Mariah post all over magazines for cash they're pregnant....Beyonce uses her platform her moment on stage to announce and she's taking others moments. Listen I do agree with Natasha that Bey announcement increased the viewership of the awards show. Common on MTV is not known to draw huge numbers as the American Music Awards or the Grammy"s. I for one had no intention of watching but once I got that tweet that Beyonce had announced that she was pregnant on the red carpet I decided to tune in plus I called family and friends. So this explanation is quite possible. I also think lots a lot people wanted to see the Kanye West Jay Z performance.

With all that being said, all I'm asking for is one day without a minute-by-minute pregnancy update. STFU already, I had no plans to watch MTV boring ass awards show but once I hear that Beyonce announced that she was pregnant on the red carpet I tuned in like many of the people I know. Again people ain't feeling Chris like that anymore so he can continue jumping rope or whatever he was doing because he ain't sing a lick yet and the attempt to lip syncing was pathetic. His performance fell flat to be honest.
