"The Game" Season 5 Slated To Premiere This JANUARY!

BET's top rated and most watched scripted show in their network's history, "The Game," finally has a Season 5 premiere date. Peep when the Sabers' new season and how Derwin & Melanie's pregnancy attempt will be played out inside...

The brand new season of hit show "The Game" will indeed premiere January 2012!

TheYBF.com was on the scene at Akoo's New York Fashion Week show last night where we got the confirmation straight from the mouth of Hosea Chanchez ("Malik").

"The new season starts in January...we go back to work next week," Hosea dished exclusively to TheYBF.com during his hosting duties last night at the Akoo (rapper T.I.'s clothing line) fashion show.

Hosea is also the new face of Akoo Clothing, and he revealed his favorite thing about his new gig.

“You know, it's just good to see us people of color, have a line....to participate in Fashion Week here in New York City. Just the whole thing being put together, Ralph and the whole team, who have been trying to do it for a while and they finally did it. So I’m just happy to see that.”

Agreed. And don't be surprised if you see Hosea's own designs added to the line. He told us he WILL make that happen. Interesting.

Will Melanie and Derwin finally get pregnant? Will Mel reveal what really happened with that abortion? Will Jason & Kelly rekindle their relationship? What will Malik do without Jenna?! And will Tasha Mack get back on her feet after getting FIRED by Girl Melanie?

I love The Game, I started

I love The Game, I started watching late but one episode and I was hooked for life, when I'm watching everyone knows not to bother me, I wish it was an hour, the new Brit brat looks like Jason, I love me some hood a$$ gangster no nonsense Tasha Mack, all the guys are unique in there own way...fan for life.

People need to understand

People need to understand that although this is a fictional TV show it is also based on the life of NFL players and what they go through on a day to day basis.. Some of them actually live in condos and some of them are drug addicts. I believe they successfully portryed everything great. And I can't wait for the next season.

i loooove the game. I think season 5 was pretty good, I mean they have been gone for like 2 years so alot has happened to these character that the first episode did not explain enough with the Lil 5 min flash scene of everybody lives. Can't wait to see the show in January

the quality of the show

the quality of the show started to slide even when it was on the CW. Season 4 was just way over the top and not in a good way. My favs (Tasha Mack, Janay, and Tee Tee) did not get as much play I think that they should have. I hate what they did wit the Kelli and Derwin characters (Is arrogant the new black? Are you serious?) The whole mellow drama with Malik was ridiculous. He never had drug problems but he was alway really promiscuious they should have made him a sex-addict instead it would an easier transition and it would have been more credieble. I was never a big Melanie fan (I always thought that she was weak and she is not that attractive) but making her an elitus, neurotic backstabber just was not cool. Poor Jason was just DOA. I hope they do better with this next season. Just because it is a "black show" that target "black viewers" and is featured on BET doesn't mean that the show, its wirters, and its producers should get away with giving the audience junk.

I agree. I loved seasons 1-3. Season 4 didn't really get into. Seemed like a totally different show. Too much over da top drama and no comedy and was so dark. We fell n love wit da show dat was fun, funny, and mixed n drama as dey went along. Now its jst a soap opera wit a whole lotta foolishniess goin on. These dnt even seem like da same ppl frm da old shows. I recongnize da actors, but da characters seem like ppl frm a whole different show. I stil watch da old ones when I can catch one. I wanna new season n hopes it gets bak 2 bein funny wit a lil bit of drama. Take malik 4 instance. He always was a rich arrogantselfish dude. But n a funny and light hearted way. Now he jst a complete monster and fool dat is not funny at all. His character is so so much a mess and got such serious issues it seem like a totally different character

I agree. I loved seasons 1-3 and still watch those ones cuz I didn't really like season 4. I mean it was too over da top. Hardly no comedy at all. We fell n love wit da how cuz it was a mixture of comedy mixed wit some drama. Funny drama. Now its jst way 2 serious, not funny and dark. Dt even seem like da same show. Yea we reconize da actors, but da chracters seem like totally different ppl. Not da same show I LOOOOVED.

It's their show and I am just

It's their show and I am just along for the ride. Nothing to complain about. The new Brittany bothered me until the episode where Jason let her have it. And only because it disrupted the continuitu (she seemed to grow up way too fast in 2 years) other than that I saw this as the normal progression of their lives. Malik reacted exactly how someone like him would to Derwin becoming the new TOP SABER. Jason still hilarious. LOVE THE GAME! Moooooore!

Yeah she went from 8 to 14 in two years it bothered me too but her parents thought this season was too grown for her to star in but she has been on this kids show hip hop harry since before the game ever started and that is not filmed in atl so her parents thought that would be too much to do as well

I am a big fan of "The Game"

I am a big fan of "The Game" and has been since the very first episode. The show started out with Malik living with Tasha, Derwin & Melanie just starting out...etc. I feel the characters have made transitions that normal people go through as things in their lives change. What's wrong in adding some drama? If the characters stayed the same, no one would be interested. Tasha has always been ghetto...it's in her, but she tames it when needed. I don't like the new Brittany (Jason & Kelly's daughter). What happened to the old girl? The new girl is too dark for a bi-racial child. The things that these characters go through are what real people go through. Love the show....

I dont agree...The changes in the charaters and the storylines were too drastic and the storylines were really discombobulated-they didn't make any sense instead of flowing together from one story to the next like it did in previous seasons it just looked the new writers and the new network was just trying to shock the viewers from on episode to the next. The "darkness" ofnew Brit-Brat is irrelavant-as long as they weren't bringing out some Rudy Huxtable looking child (pretty little chocolate chip by the way) it is all good bi-racial, hi-yellow, light-skinned its all pretty much the same :).
