INSIDE FASHION WEEK: YBF Designer Reco Chapple DISHES On Kelly Rowland, His Spring 2012 Collection, And "Edgy" Style

As part of our in-depth coverage of NYC's fashion week, TheYBF.com recently chatted with Reco Chapple, an upcoming designer you should keep your eyes on. His style is fashion forward and "edgy" and he counts Kandi Burress and Kelly Rowland as supporters.
Come inside and meet Reco Chapple.
Reco Chapple first rose to national prominence as a season one finalist on Bravo's The Fashion Show. And with Kelly Rowland as one of his supporters, he continued on after the show to make several appearances at fashion week in New York.
Asked about The House Of Chapple was the lifestyle it evokes, he said his consumer is a sexy and confident individual who knows he or she wants out of life. Focusing on confident lines that accentuate the human frame, he adds that his garments are for people who are confident in the sexuality.
- On his 2012 Spring Collection
"I make timeless, classic pieces that will last." And with old Hollywood glamour and Bob Mackie among his influences, he says this collection represents the inspiration he received from his recent travels. The line in a mixtures of different cultures and experiences.
- On his experience at Fashion Week
Reco made his first showing in NY a few seasons ago with a $10,000 investment. Since then, he has shown consistently and remarked that NY has been very supportive of his talent. He added that is was always his dream to show in NY and that over the years both his business and production strengths has grown as a result of the great reception he's received.
And although his schedule prevented him from attending other shows, he lists Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta as his favorite designers.
- On what celebrities he would like to dress
He lists Michelle Obama and Sarah Jessica Parker as two women he would love to see in his collection. He says he would take their "classic" look and give it a little edge.
- On his notable clientele
He says Kelly Rowland and Niecy Nash have been great supporters of his work, and that Kandi Burress (who did a recent photoshoot in his designs) is not only a client, but also a close friend.
- On making any outfit fabulous
His advice for turning any outfit into a "statement" is by "making it personable." He says adding bangles, bracelets and unique accessories are the key to keeping your look fresh.
Reco showed his Spring 2012 line last week to rave reviews. Just another fresh face in the design world to look out for.
