MOVIE FAB: Alicia Keys Promotes New "FIVE" Film On "GMA"

Alicia Keys, Demi Moore And Jennifer Aniston appeared on "GMA" today to promote their Lifetime original film FIVE. Watch the celebs talk about directing their shorts inside....

On October 10 at 9pm/8c Alicia Keys makes her directorial debut with the Lifetime original film FIVE.

FIVE is an anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives. Fellow A-listers Demi Moore and Jennifer Aniston each directed one of the shorts.

Alicia's film stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Rosario Dawson and Jenifer Lewis. Rosario's character has breast cancer and her story reveals how her life changes after the moment of diagnosis.

Actually real talk is the fact that black women are diagnosed later, are 2x's more likely to die from breast cancer as compared to our white sisters and because of the economic crisis often receive less than optimal care. I have been an oncology nurse for a very long time and I am still amazed as to how far behind we are in socio-ecinomic matters. It is very important to bring awareness in any manner possible. If a sad movie will encourage us to perform self breast exams then this is what we need but for all we know this could be a SURVIVORS story. On another note, I wish there were movies about AIDS awareness and the need for black women to start being vigilante about condoms and testing and to STOP messing with jail bound, jail house dudes. Between cancer and HIV/AIDS, we are rapidly headed for health care crisis. Now this is REAL TALK.
