I have read Rihanna's response and to be honest think it was very tame and showed she lacks power. Nigger is the most derogatory word that can be used to describe a black person; it expresses contempt for our race and has later been used to show our inferiority. If I was in Rihanna's position I would have made sure that I called that woman a racist and assured her that it was obvious to me and the world. I would have also made a point of stating that I was proud of my heritage and skin colour and no ignorant bitch will use them to insult me. I would have concluded by telling that woman not to include me in any of her publications and would have encouraged my fans to boycott that magazine, Rihanna's comments were quite tepid and show me that she is grateful to be in the spotlight and does not want to offend too many people in the media and her white fan base by being ‘uppity’. With all being said she needs to accept that she is an easy target as her team courts controversy, she does not seem very intelligent to me as she is portraying the role of a black whore and it is unfair that she is one of the few representations of black female in mainstream culture.
