What I do not understand is

What I do not understand is why are women okay with waiting on a man? I mean I know you may love him and all, but I have to say that a person will only do to you what you allow them to do, and it is obvious that in so many of these cases the women are content with the "baby mama" title or "fiancee" just for the sake of being in a relationship. If you're okay with this then that's fine; however, if you want more for yourself, then it has to be up to you to decide how things go. I in no way endorse giving a man an ultimatum; however, I do think you can set your own personal timeframe for when you would like things to happen, and if they don't, then you need to bounce. And don't be bitter if after years and years and years of waiting, he either leaves you high and dry before you make it to the altar or at the altar, and ends up marrying someone else. You as the woman totally brought this upon yourself as YOU and only YOU determined the way you would be treated by him. It's 2012! It's time we as women start putting ourselves and our needs first and stop "playing our position as the ride or die chick." It's senseless, a waste of time, and something most will more than likely regret later on in life. P.S. Shout out to all the Guyanese people on the board. GT stand up!

I think it's a shame that you're trying to turn this into a Caribbean/foreign Black vs Black Americans but you sadly proved my point. It doesn't matter how you're black and what I mean by that is that it doesn't matter if you're light, brown or dark skinned, it doesn't matter if you're Haitian, Jamaican, Dominican, or from any other Carribean country, or if you're African, if you're black you're black!!! You may be Black and American but keep in mind that there wasn't Black ppl in America before slavery so somewhere down the line you're from a foreign country too!!! It's not because you were born and raised in another country besides you motherland that you're less of an Haitian, African, Jamaican, etc....
