Heidi & Seal: Confirm Split, Was It Because of His Turbulent Temper?

After this weekend's report that Seal and his supermodel wife Heidi Klum were headed to divorce court, the couple has confirmed their separation via a joint statement through their rep.

Details inside, plus rumors of Seal's turbulent temper....

7 years of marriage and 4 kids later (with Seal formally adopting Heidi's oldest), the twosome are officially on Splitsville Lane.

The couple's rep put out a statement on behalf of the Hollywood couple, asking for privacy and confirming that the two simply grew apart:

"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.

"This is an amicable process and protecting the wellbeing of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

"We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

The twosome met while Heidi was pregnant with daughter Leni, whose father is businessman Flavio Briatore. Heidi has Seal's name tattoo'd on her arm, and they got married in Mexico right after they announced she was pregnant with their first child together, Henry.

Now, folks are trying to figure out where the seemingly perfect couple went wrong. Reports claim Seal has a veracious temper, which Heidi supposedly couldn't take it anymore. (How convenient news of his alleged "temper" comes out now.) Her extremely large and successful empire also created physical and emotional distance between the two--with both traveling so much. Reportedly, infidelity was not the issue.

Time will tell....

I don't expect much from Hollywood marriages, giving how lightly they take the union, but I am shocked by this one and saddened. They appeared to a be a solid couple and they have four beautiful children together. Hopefully, if it's meant to be then they can reconcile.
