Actor Brian White RANTS About Racial Stereotypes, Says Black Women Like NeNe Leakes Are Portrayed As REALISTIC

Actor Brian White recently sat for an interview where he ranted about racial sterotypes on reality shows, then he shockingly (even though his statement had truth to it) revealed that he thinks many Black women do act like NeNe Leakes. So people claiming black women get "stereotyped" isn't necessarily the case. Get the deets inside.....

It must have gotten under Brian White's skin when folks talked trash about his interracial marraige. He popped off then, and now he's stating something that's comes off just a bit attacking--despite the truth in it. During a recent interview, the traveling production What My Husband Doesn't Know star went on a long rant about racial sterotypes on reality televison. He also said he believes many Black women in fact do act like NeNe Leakes. So people getting upset by racial sterotypes should actually be getting upset at the "reality" itself. And also, what is being glorified and shown as the "reality" of black women (I do agree with him on that part). Read the highlights....

What is your insight on the Spike Lee vs. Tyler Perry beef? Why do you think people hate Tyler Perry so much?
Because Tyler holds a mirror up to people. Stereotypes are not stereotypes today. The most popular character [in Why Did I Get Married?], and it’s not the one that Tyler picked as the most popular, is Tasha! You have Janet Jackson and Jill Scott; my point is Jill Scott and Janet are huge music stars with huge fan bases, Tasha became the most popular because her character is portrayed the most like “Love & Hip Hop” the most like, “Desperate Housewives of Atlanta,” [we think he means "Housewives Of Atlanta] you might as well switch it around and pop in Nene [Leaks]. [Tasha Smith] is brilliant, she’s nothing like the character, she’s just portraying what she sees in society, magnified.[sic]

People get mad and say that’s not us. Yes it is.

Turn on “Love & Hip Hop” and turn on “Desperate Housewives Of Atlanta” those are “reality shows.” You can’t call something reality then get mad when it shows up in the movies as reality but that’s what we’re doing. That’s where the cycle continues. They don’t do that in Africa, they don’t do that in France; they don’t connect with that message.

Do you think Tyler Perry only depicts black people in a negative light? There are a lot of black people who fit into the stereotype but there are a lot of black people who don’t.
You can’t call it a stereotype if it’s the majority. The most prevalent image in “urban society” right now is women like Nene [Leaks]. If there’s a fight that breaks out on “Love & Hip Hop” those people are one every blog, the cover of every magazine the next week. It’s not Taraji or Gabrielle, it’s whoever just got into a fist fight. Tyler’s not stereotyping, he’s holding up a mirror and people are mad at him because people don’t want to look at that image in that way.

Do you believe that the stereotypes we see on TV are prevalent in the race or just portrayed on TV? Is it really the majority of black women that act like Nene?
I have five sisters and two moms, none of them are like that! To me, I can say I’m offended if they want to represent that and don’t want to represent my mom, but my mom represents Phylicia Rashād and has been represented on TV all my life. I can’t say that. I don’t watch “Real Housewives,” I’ve never seen an episode of “Love & Hop Hop” I’m not supporting it, I’m not giving it ratings. I’m not making the stereotype exist on TV. You’ve watched it, you’ve added to why it’s on TV.

After the interview was published, Brian had some words for the writer tweeting,

You are not a sale out if that is who you TRULY want. You are a sale out if you are doing it to prove that you can or as a way to put down a whole race of women. I grew up being hated on by blacks-male and female- because of the way I spoke, I had 2 parents in the house, I got to travel, I had long hair, I dressed differently....I was treated much better by my white classmates. Black boys didn't want to date me but when I went out with the white boys I was a sale out. I thought I was better than blacks.. I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't. As an adult, I have dated different races. I have had black men who are with other races berate me for not dating a black man. When I point out that they are with a woman who is not black, I am told its not the same...REALLY?!?!?!? I have had women black and non black get me the old stink eye or make catty comments... So whats the resolution?

There is no color under

There is no color under ghetto!!!!! I've seen black and white act in some kind of way thats totally unreal. I wish people would quit saying black women are loud etc. Im black and i was brought up with the utmost respect for people and i thank GOD for planting that seed in my parents to pass on the blessing to me and my siblings. Gangs are all kind of colors, Murderers are all kinds of colors. Child malesters are kinds of colors. I could go on and on. He just haven't met the right black respectful woman and the wrong white ghetto woman cause they are definitely out there. I've never met anyone who met all men or women to judge them but GOD. It's almost like he's judging me without knowing me. So he can say whatever he wants. I could say the same thing about black men because ive been done dirty. But I was given a sense to realize that i dont know every man and i cant say that there aren't any out there. I agree. I do not intend to support movies in which Brian White appears. While there is nothing wrong with finding and falling in love with someone regardless of a different race, he has basically done what I think many black men do . . . trash black women as a way of "getting in" with women of other races. I'm sure he has told his woman terrible things about black women and this has made her feel some level of superiority and then too she doesn't have to worry about him straying with that group of women because that group of women are beneath her and could never compete with her. But white men use the race thing too. I've encountered a few who "only date black women because white women are" whores, or lazy, or don't know how to handle their business, or are childish and weak. Would I date a man like that, NEVER! I would never align or associate myself with a man who has to trash talk women of his race or another. It's still, on some level, a disrespect and disdain of women.

I have seen the shows

I have seen the shows mentioned. I can only tolerate them for a few minutes and then I get disgusted. I have known people who act the way these folks act and I have known and have always been a part of the group that acts like they have home training. There have always been foolish acting black women the only difference now is that they are given a television show in which to confirm their ignorance. When we watch and support this mess, we give it approval to continue. Contrary to what is represented on these shows and movies NOT every black woman is this way. Not every black woman settles a disagreement with fists and cursing. Some of us actually agree to disagree and/or remove ourselves from the situation. Everyone has the right to be ignorant, regardless of race/creed/color/origin, but not everyone should be tarred and feathered with the same brush because of these folks and others like them.

It is clear he is a handsome guy, but this attitude explains why he's unattractive. I could imagine him laying in bed with his white wife watching reality TV & pointing out the reasons why she and her kind are better than black women, lol. It is totally baffling to me for ALL Black women to be thought of as gold-digging, cold, selfish, abused, mean, attitude problems and on and on. Have you watched Mob Wives, Housewives of New Jersey, Bad Girls Club...What is the difference between what the women (non-black) on these shows do and what the black women on basketball wives or atlanta housewives do? The Bible says we're not to call each other fools (Matthew 5:22), most of us sista's were raised in the church . You seem to be very angry! I can understand that you and your hubby are frustrated in knowing that you have a long road ahead of you because of "his" disobedience. As a matter of fact, the Children of Israel (blacks) have always been disobedient and that's why Yaweh( The Creator) scattered us amongst the nations (Psalm 106:26,27). What's even more sad, because of our disobedience, our heritage was lost. Now you'll have to raise a daughter who her dad doesn't know his heritage, so how will he teach her? It must be hard on you as well because you don't know our heritage and this causes confusion and Yaweh is not the author of confusion (1 Corinth 14:33). Yaweh (The Creator) chose The Israelites as his people because we were the smallest nation (Deut. 7:7). So to build a nation you have to have a people and if the people are mixed and mixed up, there goes the nation. In spite of all the mess going on in the world, repentance is offered TO ALL because of The Israelite's refusal to obey the Creator. Yeshua (Jesus) said he came for the Israelite's (Matthew 15:24) because black people are lost. We are the lost sheep who don't want truth, rejecting The Creators word, and we're killing each other as fast as we can walk. Therefore, if we don't know who we are, do we exist? The Creator called us a stiffnecked people (Deuter. 10:12-20). It will only get worse for us and that's the truth, due to the refusal of repentance. Much of what is stated as his

Much of what is stated as his words in the interview, just don't make any sense. So I believe the author did some selective editing here. That said, if Brian White wanted to make a point about reality shows, he should have stuck to a carefully worded statement or script and directed the author to use his statement in its totality. If I were a publicist, that's what I'd advise my client to do when talking about any controversial or inflammatory subject so that they may 1) come across as knowledgeable on the subject and 2) make their thoughts clearly. BW seems non-sensical here. And also, he should have been controlling the interview; should have turned each question around in such a way to address his talking points - use the questions to get across information he wants to convey. I seriously doubt he wanted to talk to this author about black women on reality shows.

The man has been bashed because of his comments; his beliefs. He has been called gay. Why? He has been condemned because he married the person that he is most attracted to and meet his needs in every way. Why? I admire him because of his accomplishments. The truth is he stated obvious facts and that in itself hit home with many people. But what he failed to mention is the less educated a person is the more apt they are to act the way what is being presented to the world. To a certain extent I would say education has a lot to do with how a person may behave, but I know for a fact that my Mother has a 3rd grade education and there is NO WAY in hollywood hell would she act the way these folks on these reality shows act. How come when you see white

How come when you see white girls acting a fool (like on Bad Girls, etc.,), you don't say all white women are like that; but when you see black women acting a fool, you get the idea that their whole race of women is like tha? A man's accomplishments does

A man's accomplishments does not excuse his hatred for black women. Nene is an entrepreneur, who is doing what she gets paid to do, entertain. That doesn't make her a bad person or a negative influence on our youth. It is up to us to raise our children not the tv. If Mr. White plays a role in a movie where he is a manipulative, deceitful person or a drug dealer, how about if he plays a gay man in a movie; does that make him a bad person? Should we blog about how he is affecting the youth? So why is Nene considered to be ignorant or ghetto when she is doing exactly what he does when the camera is on, entertain. Also, she can't be but so loud, ignorant or ghetto bcuz from what I could tell she is working & doing well for herself and not just on reality tv.
