Kalenna Goes ARTISTIC For Hot New Promo Pics

Former Dirty Money singer Kalenna is all about the artistic side of her look and music. Check out her new promo pics for her upcoming mixtape inside...

Kalenna will make her first solo mixtape, Chamber of Diaries, available for free download February 13th, via her website.

Her album cover and artwork channel a strong and regal character in which Kalenna wants to use to officially introduce herself as a solo artist. About her new venture, she states:

“I want people to know that I have experienced a lot of the same struggles they have faced in their lives. At the same time I want be a role model for my fans by keeping two feet on the ground and standing for what I believe in.

I wanted to talk about situations that occur between women and men in relationships. I want women to understand, and be empowered by taking into consideration the male perspective in different situations."

The mixtape features producers Rodney Jerkins, Ryan Tedder, D Mile, Firstborne and Shakespeare. And offers a sound that infuses up-beat tempos, and melodic lyrics to evoke emotion.

C'mon..yall are supposed to be grown...and to say someone's looks are disgusting and repulsive is a bit much....everyone can voice their opinion without being offensive...I personally dont think Kaleena is ugly but I may be biased because Im very darkskinned and was called ugly a lot...even though I honestly know that im not...Ive had plenty of compliments as well but I do think thats if you're not a drop dead gorgeous with dark skin(like my daughter) girl/women.....SOME people will almost always call you ugly...and no I dont have self hate...infact I love my skin tone but that does not mean I dont recognize how black people in particular view other blacks...no Kalena is not pretty to me..but she is not ugly or repulsive either

I totally agree with you.

I totally agree with you. (Alot of) People have harsher reactions to darker skinned people. There was a scientific study about this very thing; People had more negative reactions to pictures of people with the same features just darker complexions. And the study found no real difference in reactions whether the respondent was black or white (American). Its sad but this is just a social norm in this country and probably other countrys as well.

Can you please tell me where i brung Light vs dark into this in my comment?....I dont even feed into that "competition" i never once mentioned "light"...im speaking from 30 years of experience as a darksinned women...i have nothing agains any skintone and certainly do not put one ahead or behind of another but as I stated from experience and being around only black people for 30 years...we have a horrible tendency of attacking and making fun of the darkskin girl as soon as she walks into a room...and ive even heard mothers put thier own kids down for having features like Kaleena...this is for SOME NOT ALL black people

But African Americans come in all shades. Why are the darker ones more "REAL"? I never said anything about her skin tone yet people attacked me because I said she was unattractive and looked like a MAN. People see these african motifs and they think it's so REAL but it's rather obvious in this sense. She can't go GLAM so she goes on the opposite direction....that does not mean these photos are great....... Stop bring up skin tone that is not an issue.

The poster realizes and understands that when ppl are most repulsed, it mainly has to do with the skin tone being darker (in addition to the looks). In other words, a lot (not all) of light skin women get a pass as far as being called ugly. It's just the truth.
