Wow...I didn't know that about Whitney. Hmm hate say it, I like TP, but agree this is suspect! He does seem somewhat narcissistic. I thought that when he came out being abused when he released For Colored Girls. But thought, nah...then he went on Oprah, with the story right before the movie came out. Now this right before "Good Deeds". I do like he is loyal to black actors however. @mahoganymami I read your comment and I really wanted to respond to you. I NEVER respected Brian White. Brian is just annoying in almost every aspect. He is not what I consider a real actor and he over-reaches 99% of the time. But I was in 100% agreement in his comments about the power and scale of reality shows. And he was also unusually perceptive about how many Black women are represented by the likes of Nene Leaks. These women tune in week after week and are "entertained" by the catty behavior they see. MODERN women don't even watch those types of shows. There was anEXCELLENT article written by Allison Samuels for NEWSWEEK. You really should read it. In this article the writer came to the same conclusions. The mud-slinging makes for watchable TV, but it also highlights an unsettling new formula for the reality-TV genre: put two or more headstrong African-American women in the same room, and let the fireworks begin. From Oxygen’s Bad Girls to Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, the small screen is awash with black females who roll their eyes, bob their heads, snap their fingers, talk trash, and otherwise reinforce the ugly stereotype of the “angry black woman.” Take VH1’s Basketball Wives and Love & Hip Hop, which feature the scorned ex-wives and baby mamas of rich NBA stars and rappers. And who cares who Brian is dating that is his choice. Women need to get their issues in order and realize who the TRUE enemy is.....
