Although I agree with you to a certain point, we must realize that WE cannot depend on these types of women to influence our girls. It begins at home with the parents. I believe it is their jobs to encourage and teach their children to love themselves and not rely on the fake images that we see today. So many babies are wearing weave and being dressed as adults so I am really wondering if this was the parents' fault or Lil KIM's fault.

I kind of agree and disagree with you at the same time, I dont feel like they set the standard for female MC's at al.. There were others that did it before them. I did like the way they came out raw and uncut...but there were the Lytes, the Latifahs, Monie Loves...that kept it classy. In hip hop there is no set standard..It's about competition. So technically speaking Nicki doesnt necessarily owe Kim anything...She did that whole pay homage thing already and it wasnt enough for Kim..Nicki is doing her own thing now..Kim has never really been able to handle competition well. By Kim messing up her face and her body the way she has, to me only seems like she is emulating someone and is confused about who she is emulating. I also dont thing they have the same fan base either. I feel like as long as they stay in their own lanes they can do this female rapper thing in harmony. I agree with you about Nicki's music though. But apparently there is a market for it..Her bank account and popularity proves that. We may not all like it, but she is the here and now for her fan base, and Kim running around bashing her is only making her look washed up and bitter. I get that MC'ing is about competition and all that, but there comes a time where you have to give up. When we compare, we are talking about old Lil Kim, and yeah back then, there was no comparison, but now is a different story. Lil Kim is just mad because she is not "That Chick" anymore. You certainly dont see Madonna blasting Gaga..And you dont hear Gaga saying over and over that Madonna was her inspiration, she said it once and that was enough.Kim could have turned this into a paycheck for herself and now look...Nicki is still paid, and Kim is still bitter.
