Tyra Banks tweeted a few pics (snapped by her Mom) during her graduation ceremony from Harvard today. See the pics inside....

Tyra Banks has been out of the public eye for a while as she focused on studies at Harvard. And now, the work has paid off as she tweeted,

Smiling ear2ear on the Harvard Business School campus w/ my diploma! Tnx 2 my fab photographer mama 4 the pic!

Then she tweeted, A pic of me in the slideshow Harvard Business School showed @ my graduation! Don't be afraid 2 raise ur hand in class

Hey mom also snapped this pic and Tyra revealed, On stage at my Harvard Business School graduation! Lil blurry but SUCH an exciting moment 4 me & wanted 2 share w/u!

Now that she's done with classes, Tyra will be gearing up for Cycle 19 on "ANTM" which will be dubbed, of course, "The College Edition."

To all you haters, the focus

To all you haters, the focus is not even on you. Congratulations to Tyra. She shook up the fashion runway and the Victoria Secret brand as a high steppin' high paid model. Then left the runway and hit the ground running with ANTM seen nationally and internationally. Then she parlayed all that into her hit talk show "TYRA" and somehow still found the time to become an author and wrote a suspense fiction novel. FACT: Trya was a business mogul before going to Harvard. You can nitpic all you want about the piece of paper being just a certificate, how she was admitted to the program, how much she may have paid to get in, etc., etc., etc. If Tyra can do all this before Harvard I'll be watching to see what she's going to do after Harvard. And I wish her the best with it all.

tyra was in a special program. something about one of the requirements was to have a money making business already or something like that. she explained it on some talk show...i forgot. take with that what u will lol. congrats tyra!

You were pretty close. It

You were pretty close. It was a program for business owners who needed and wanted management training and the knowledge and expertise of a degree from Harvard. The university understands that people who already own businesses are busy running them so it offers a condensed couse of study for busy professional busines owners. Tyra's degree is, in a way, a more hard earned degree because she took all of the required classes but in a shorter, more intense length of time. Congrats to Tyra and her fellow students.

So PROUD of Tyra Banks! It's amazing to see a self made individual take active steps to BETTER themselves in one way or another. Going to Harvard and getting that Diploma is a big accomplishment and I could not be happier for her. In addition, it is nice to see a 'celebrity' going back into academia despite already being a huge success. These days, becoming 'famous' is more important to kids than pursuing an education; especially higher education, so Kudos to Miss Banks for doing the program and being an inspiration to many!

I have never seen a real

I have never seen a real graduation ceremony where the graduates don't wear a cap or gown. This can't really be a Harvard graduation ceremony without wearing the crimson Harvard colors. It's more like the passing out of certificates. If she's tweeting that she graduated with a Harvard diploma she's a fraud. Whoever believes that she did, wouldn't even be able to get into a community college LOL.

The YBF should have added a few more facts to this story... Three (3) weeks per year for three (3) years. Nine week program. Yes, it's Harvard, but it's a NINE WEEK program. Not quite a "Harvard degree." No "hate," just facts. "Fashion mogul Tyra Banks added another accomplishment to her lengthy list when she picked up a degree from Harvard Business School. She did not, in fact, complete the school's elite, two-year, full-time MBA program. Instead, she graduated from a three-week-per-year, three-year Harvard Owner/President Management Program. She did need to prove she runs a company with at least $5 million in annual sales, however."

This is not a true degree.

This is not a true degree. You have to attend class several times a week with multiple courses to do that. It is good she went but this is akin to the honorary degrees conferred. This is a course where people are given credit for life experience but if she tried to get say a masters at another school she would have to go back and do the course work.

OK, for those asking "how many of you could have gotten into Tyra's program at Harvard?" The answer is ALL. The lack of education here is scary. Tyra enrolled in a program at Harvard that anyone can get into, by paying 30K or so. That means, if YOU have money, you too can complete the program--which was designed for working entrepreneurs. Now, I'm not saying Tyra doesn't deserve any kudos, but I am stunned by how uninformed the general public is. Do you REALLY think Tyra could have gotten a straight up Harvard MBA without a bachelor's??? Can you not Google how higher education works in the world? I know it may seem to be too much for you, but ermmm...visit & explore Harvard Business School. Learn the requirements. Educate yourselves. Some certificates at Harvard can be earned by mid-career executives who are willing to PAY to get in (ie NO ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENT, except an upfront payment)...which is what Tyra did and you can do too, if you're a mid-career entrepreneur w the cash! That's the problem with us as a race. We just don't want to support each other! We get too much joy tearing each other down instead. Yes, Tyra's degree is a certificate and not a full-fledged diploma. Yes, the admissions requirements for the certificate program are not as rigorous as the standard admission requirements for the Harvard MBA program. However, I still applaud Tyra's accomplishment. Yes, she may not be a Harvard MBA but, HELLO! Tyra was a self-made millionaire media mogul before ever setting foot on Harvard's campus. How many official Harvard MBA grads can claim the same?

True, many Harvard MBAs, like myself, are not moguls. The fact remains that she paid for a certificate, and is passing it off as a degree. She has earned alot of money....but she hasn't earned a Harvard MBA. Stick to your knitting Tyra. Don't be fooled. There isn't a real Harvard Alum in the world that is going to respect you as a Harvard grad. At an alumni event, we'll still look at you like a model who had a lot of smart people building her brand for her.

I am so very proud of Tyra. She is doing the damn thang!!!! She's always striving to expand herself and to push herself to new limits. She's an outstanding role model for any young person but particularly for our young women of color. I see her becoming the new Oprah. There ain't a dang thang that Tyra can't do.

She has earned her stripes - she had to read the cases. It takes a certain amount of intellectual horsepower to read cases and participate in class so you guys need to respect!

I think there is some

I think there is some admissions requirement. I don't think a drug dealer can roll up and pay the fees. Besides, it takes some intellectual horsepower to thrive in the program. You have to read HBS cases and Tyra reads them so she is no dummy. Plus, I saw her speak at HBS; she is clearly a smart woman (by the way, she got into USC/UCLA even though she didn't attend--and who would when modeling in Paris is an option). Definitely smarter than most on this comment board.
