DO WE LOVE IT?! The Kanye West/Giuseppe Zanotti $5,800 Shoe

Kanye West is prepping to hit the Paris runways again with his Spring 2012 collection of his clothing line. But what's catching everyone's eye today is what is about to hit stores soon--Kanye's $5,800 beaded shoe he co-designed with Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti.

Decide if we love it inside...

Kanye is about to get his much anticipated women's shoe distributed in his fave French upscale retailer, Colette.

The retailer recently tweeted they are stocking styles from his Spring 2012 collection, saying:

Giuseppe Zanotti for KW @kanyewest available @coletteparis

For his (pictured above) unique, pearl-encrusted wooly/crocheted heels, he worked closely with Mr. Zanotti. And we're told the shoe will run you close to $6,000.

I can't wait to see what

I can't wait to see what happens to these shoes if they get wet or dirty - wash in Woolite? ! A cable knit sweater with pearls fell on a cheap pair of high heels. Anybody who spends that money on them deserves what they get.

I love that the shoe reminds

I love that the shoe reminds me of a bootie and it's open toe! I wish they were platform with a chunky-bamboo heel! And gold beads would've complimented the beige fabric better!!! Then I would pay 6,000.00 for them!

You mean HAUTE COUTURE. Stick to Ross & TJ Maxx. The price of those shoes doesn't constitute them being couture, because I've never known Giuseppe Zanotti to be a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. You'd be surprised how many former members are no longer members to date. Well, maybe YOU wouldn't be. As for the shoes, I've wanted to trek to Paris since 1995 or 1996, solely to visit Colette after attempting to procure a pair of shoes that were finally sold in the US. I had Parisian friends who didn't know what Colette was. While I respect progress, Kanye continues to prove himself as a lost cause. He may rap about when he worked at The Gap, but he isn't concerned about making anything (aside from music) that can be purchased by someone who isn't elite. I've seen much better shoes for $5,800. I'm really surprised by the cost because Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are usually much less expensive. I will assume that, because they are being sold in Colette, they may be exclusive to Colette. I wouldn't wear them.

I'd pass for sure. Zanotti is known for his amazing designs but NOT for his quality. His regular shoes will run you anywhere from $500 to $1100 easily and yet, the quality is probably somewhere around Zara. I can't imagine that a higher price tag and a celebrity's name will bring much better. The Queen of Hearts

If I have $6,000, why would I go buy an amateur designer like Kanye West's shoes whereas I can get high-quality and luxury historical brand names like Manolos, Prada or Alaia, and would still probably cost me less than $6,000? He is stupid to think that for an amateur designer he should price his products that high.
