Nicki Minaj has tongues wagging after an awkward exchange with Jennifer Lopez where she pretty much told her to head back to the Bronx because she wants her job! Watch last night's moment inside.....

Nicki Minaj hit the stage on "American Idol" last night to perform her single "Starship," but it's the few moments surrounding it that are most memorable.

While chatting with Ryan Seacrest, Nicki said she'd like to come back as a guest judge and sit on the panel. And after Ryan asked Randy, Steven and Jennifer what they thought, Nicki looked right at J Lo and said, "J-Lo, can you scoot over a little bit?"

And then Jennifer Lopez (visibly cutting a serious inner-side eye at her too) snapped, "I don't think there's room enough for both of us here!"

*Snaps & a swirl* Nicki later addressed the comment backstage saying, "She didn't seem to be having it but she gonna have it!" Then she added, "No, actually, I love J-Lo. I love what she's done for pop culture I have nothing but respect for her and we were just joking around. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with them when I'm guest judging."

But um Nicki, methinks you don't know Jenny like that and we all know that Jenny from the Block demeanor will flip that wig in a quick second. Just sayin'....

i've never watched a nicki

i've never watched a nicki minaj performance on tv before, since i'm not into her music. but i watch idol and was interested to see what she'd do. and, oh my good lawd, that was a HORRIBLE 'performance', the lip syncing could've been done better. i felt so embarrassed for her...girlfriend should've been boo'ed off the damn stage. if this is an indication of what the rest of her 'performances' are, i'm glad i was never a fan in the first place! why 'artists' like her become a success is beyond me.

Nicki asked to be a GUEST judge, and it was Ryan who threw the conversation to the permanent judges and Nicki was only asking for ROOM to sit in as a GUEST judge, preferibly in the middle with J.Lo (which all guest judges sit in the middle!). She was not at all implying that they do away with J.Lo. and she take her spot! Natasha I've never believed in you throwing salt-- nothing different from others--- but earlier this month you was throwing salt on Nicki when you posted shots of her shooting her video. If she wants to go pop then let her, just dont support her music by purchasing her album. The crowd was excited to see her perform and cheered when she was done. I actually paid more attention to the dancers than her, which was probably her idea since she barely moved except to pop it a little. Her album is mainly pop and its geared towards the kids. Just face the fact that mix tape,5star Nicki is gone and this cartoonish version is here to stay.
